Hereford superstar Gabriel Tanko has today left the club after 18 months for the huge fee of £6m!

The Tanko saga has raged throughout the transfer window, with every club in Britain seemingly interested in the young Nigerian

Tanko appeared to be set for West Ham in a deal worth £5m after smaller bids from Arsenal and AS Monaco were rejected

Championship Newcastle however usurped the Hammers with a massive 11th hour bid, leading to the Bullls to cancel negotiations with West Ham

Tanko, who of course joined from Telford for just £3,000, has ended his association after 62 league appearances

The move has set off Hereford's spending spree, with much needed reinforcements joining the club for the second half of the season

Tim Russell, Rowan Walsh and Robert Berger have all come in on free transfers, whilst Josh Morrison and Andrew Dennis came in from Telford for a combined £3,000, Paul Dillon signed from Finn Harps for £4,000, Mike Rivers from Dartford £2,000, Regan Booty came in for a massive £45,000 and Coleraine midfielder Ciaron Harkin broke the Bull's transfer record joining for £50,000

The Bulls have been inconsistent with all this going on, recording 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss, leaving them 14th

Great move hanging on for a massive transfer fee. You will definately pick up a few decent players for that plus it sets the club finances up nicely for the next few seasons. It's not often a lower league club gets a massive payday like that.

I was delighted, took me ages to negotiate West Ham up to £5m and then Newcastle come in late on, I'm really excited for next season now

Not content with an 11th hour swoop for one Hereford player, Newcastle United have decided to repeat the trick on this summer's deadline day as they purchase Australian striker Rowan Walsh from Hereford for £1.5m

The Australian youth international was poised to join Championship side Cardiff City for £850,000 before the Magpies swooped and nicked him from under their noses

Walsh, 19, joined the Bulls from the Canberra United Academy in January 2021 and went on to make 14 league appearances. Hereford will get 50% of any future sale of the Canberra boy

Walsh has joined Connor Stanley on the outgoings list, with the 19 year old English winger joining Rotherham United for £400,000

Stanley, also 19, joined on a free transfer from Manchester United and scored 7 goals as well as bagging 14 assists in 38 league appearances last season

BRILLIANT BULLS!

Hereford's excellent season continued last night as they finished the month with a 3-0 League Cup win at Fratton Park

The Bulls, who sit 4th after 7 games, led 2-0 at half-time through strikers Shayne Lavery and Craig Laycock and even a late red card for Kazkh international Robert Berger wasn't enough to spoil Hereford's night as Laycock added a third

The Bulls will play Premier League Everton in the Fourth Round

It was the perfect end to a great month which has seen the Bulls rise to fourth despite an opening day loss at home to Notts County. They have since won four league games and drawn two, scoring 12 goals in the process with new boys Jonathan Coulton and Craig Laycock catching the eye

Goodison was shocked last night as Premier League Everton were comfortably dispatched by League 2 high flyers Hereford

Hereford, who sit 2nd in League 2 after just 2 losses in 13 league games this season, put a sloppy Everton side to the sword despite the difference in the sides league positions and budgets

Hereford, who's squad has an average age of just 20, were buoyed by the sending off of Pontus Jansson just half an hour in after a two footed lunge

Hereford were in control for the whole match, garnering 61% of the possession and the opener seemed inevitable with American youth international Coulton bagging it just before half time

Former Everton youth prospect Dennis Adeniran finished a wonderful move in added time to confirm the win for the Bulls

They will face Forest Green Rovers in the 4th round after they knocked out Championship side Crystal Palace on penalties​

BULLS KNOCKED OUT OF CUP

Hereford have been unable to transfer their League Cup heroics to the FA Cup as they've been knocked out by League 1 Peterborough United

The Bulls, who lead League 2 after another impressive month, fell 2 goals behind at London Road and failed to recover properly, only being able to grab a late consolation

Despite being top manager Hawkins is fearful heading into January, with star players George Armstrong, Jonathan Coulton and Aaron Lewis all attracting attention

League 2 leaders Hereford FC gave a great account of themselves at Old Trafford this evening despite crashing out of the League Cup

The Bulls even managed 62% of possession against a side including Thiago Maia, Kingsley Coman and Alexis Sanchez

The Bulls held on for the first half only for Sanchez to strike 7 minnutes into the second

Hereford responded well through teenager Craig Laycock but weren't able to get that elusive second goal

The draw serves as a perfect sendoff to outgoing right back Aaron Lewis, who has joined Rotherham United for £400,000 after the Championship side matched his release clause

He will be joining fellow ex-Bull Connor Stanley in Yorkshire who also joined the Millers for £400,000
