SAO PAULO (AP) -Three-time FIFA player of the year Ronaldo will announce his retirement from football on Monday, according to a Brazilian newspaper.

"It's time," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by the website of the Estado de S. Paulo newspaper on Sunday. "I can't keep going. I wanted to continue but I can't. I think about making a play but I can't execute it."

Thoughts? Personally I think he has left it to late, should have retired ages ago when he would have still been remembered as the star he was.

I think it's more likely that you'll end up working in Burger king than Ronaldo.

Legend of the game, words cannot describe how incredible he was at his peak injury plagued the end of his career as said above he should have quit a few years ago.

In his prime at barcelona he was one of the best strikers in the world. Its a shame he was injury prone as he could have been talked about as an absolute legend

So the moment's arrived where we have to bid farewell to the best player of his generation...

A true great. The most clinical finisher I have ever seen. A joy to watch, a tremendously skilled player who cut open defences with ease. The most complete striker of his day; technique, pace, strength, aerial ability, passing, he had it all. Without a shadow of a doubt one of the finest players to walk the Earth.

He will be missed. Adeus, Ronaldo.

Get a grip. This is one of the greatest players of all time, who has won a World Cup, a Champions League, a La Liga, Copa America, Intercontinental Cup, the lot. And you're trying to sully all that because, at the very end of his career, he ended up being a bit tubby. This guy is a legend. He's allowed to let himself go a bit. ;)

Sad to see him go, Ronaldo. Wish I got to see him play. :/

To think that he battled back from three serious injuries, as well. What a man.
