So sad now along with Roberto Carlos he was my favorite player :'(
I'll even miss his afro :D

Funny feeling this won't be the last we see of him. Think he will do a Maradona except be manager of Brazil lol

Get a grip. This is one of the greatest players of all time, who has won a World Cup, a Champions League, a La Liga, Copa America, Intercontinental Cup, the lot. And you're trying to sully all that because, at the very end of his career, he ended up being a bit tubby. This guy is a legend. He's allowed to let himself go a bit. ;)

Sad to see him go, Ronaldo. Wish I got to see him play. :/
sorry to correct you but he didnt win a champs league, but my fav player of all time,

He was a true legend and was not just great becasue of his goal scoring his ability to beat a opponent was thrilling to watch. on the note with roberto carlos, is it jsut me but when i watch the brazil of now compared to back then i dont feel the same way about them , in that i feel they are a good team but nothing special.

"The best player I ever worked with? Tough competition, but it has to be Brazil's Ronaldo. I signed him for Barcelona in 1996 after I failed to get Alan Shearer from Blackburn.
Ronaldo was lean, mean, as quick as an Olympic sprinter and some of the goals he scored had me shaking my head in disbelief."

-Bobby Robson

Says it all really.

Best player ive ever seen play. He is the real ronaldo, not the little girl from portugal.

The best striker I have ever seen. Imagine how much better he could have been if it wasn't for the reoccuring knee injury. Shame really, still one of the best players ever.

Along with Batistuta and Romario he has been one of the most lethal finishers on the earth over the past 20 years. Pity he didnt go out at the top when he left Real.

His goal against Turkey in the 2002 World cup really is fantastic.

the guy is a legend. one of the best finishers of the ball. definetly one of if the best striker of the modern era. the guy was so quick it was untrue

If I remember correctly, Ronaldo was the player who inspired me to try and become a footballer when I was a wee lad.

Such an incredible talent and to think, he's been banging them in for Corinthian's the past couple of seasons at 33/34.

I'm 22 years of age now and I've watched Arsenal play all my life, but I can safely say that Ronaldo's the best player I've ever seen grace a football pitch... You can have your george best's, zidane's even your messi's, but to me none of these even come close to the ability he once had as a footballer.

It's a sad, sad day. The legend is over.

Legend and the best player i have seen along with Zidane. Came back from serious injuries so many times. Champions league is so unlucky that it didn't got the opportunity to be lifted by the best player of his generation. THE RONALDO.

You act like a pathetic little kid when someone call city players names and instead of paying tribute and get out of the thread, you try to be smart *** by taking cheap shot on Ronaldo.

There is no one as girly as David Silva.

Quality quality player, such a shame to see him retire. The best striker I have ever seen in my 19 years on earth and the second best player I've ever seen, behind Zidane.

A true true great.
