Personally I think the Liverpool players/Fans alike will give the game a morale boost. It's obvious the players weren't happy so I think they will go out under Kenny and give it theyre all and I actually fancy this to be a really interesting game now that he has left I think the players will be more up for it.

Xabi Alonso hails new Liverpool boss 'King' Kenny Dalglish on Twitter

Fans had called for the return of Dalglish in recent weeks and have now seen their wish granted, with the announcement that the Anfield great will take charge of the first team for the rest of the season.

Kenny Dalglish is back in the Anfield hot seat (PA)
Ex-Liverpool midfielder Alonso encapsulated the thoughts of many Reds supporters in a brief message on Twitter.
The Real Madrid star tweeted: 'Good luck King Kenny!!'
Hodgson only took charge at Anfield last summer, but a string of poor results since the club's change of ownership turned the Reds fans against him.
With crowds falling and the possibility of Champions League qualification a remote dream, the club's new owners have decided to axe the former Fulham manager and turn to a Liverpool legend for help.
Dalglish, regarded by many as Liverpool's greatest ever player, won the league three times and FA Cup twice during his first spell as Reds manager and fans will be hoping he can rediscover the magic and turn the club's form around.
But he faces a tough test as he tries to make an immediate impact, with his first game in charge an FA Cup third round tie at Manchester United.
Red Devils central defender Rio Ferdinand told his Twitter followers the match between the bitter rivals would be even more significant than usual.
'Can't wait for our massive game tweeps, changing of manager definitely makes it an even more interesting game if anything,' he tweeted.

Dalglish isn't an idiot, Hodgson is.

You've got your wish, for God's sake stop insulting Hodgson.

People are acting like now he's gone, Liverpool are going to be amazing straight away. There's a lot of work to be done before next season if Liverpool are going to challenge for the top 4.

have kenny as manager wont do anything different, still going to have those crappy players

Who has said that? If you look at former posts you will see I have said we're not going to get straight back to the top. Moron.

I know :'( Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Meireles, Gerrard, Kuyt, Torres :( I might aswell kill myself.

I never said that you said that did I. And no point being petty and calling me a moron as all I did was post an opinion.

The problem with Roy is that he expects players to adapt to the way he plays. The best Managers are the ones that adapt to the players they have and are more willing and open to change tactically to get the best out of there players.

Sorry, I jumped the gun a bit. Hodgson was an idiot while he was in charge of the club though.

Forget it mate, it's fine :)

Yes he did do a poor job at Liverpool, I just get annoyed when people slag him (or any manager) off on a personal level, because it's not like he deliberately made them lose. :)

Kenny will keep the fans happy, for how long tho? Realisticly speaking i cant see Kenny keeping the job after this season, we need a young manager with a fresh approach!

He is only in charge temporarily.

i still dont understand why he so stubbornly stuck to a style and formation that patently wasn't working

i fully expect liverpool to get at least 7th in the PL now they have a new gaffer who will buy new players

and win the europa league

Really Calum, Your worse then some of these scousers You expect a miracle or something, whats next Kenny to turn Water into Wine....

Yes mate i understand that, im just happy Roy left and didnt ask for a stupid compensasion fee, i liked the guy at Fuhlam and i still like him now, he was never the right manager for Liverpool, and im pleased Kenny has took the reins, onwards and upwards? :P

Seriously? Comolli will most likely be in charge of transfers. Kenny will be more attracted to playing the younger lads. 7th would be fantastic and tbh I am not expecting much success in the Europa but it'd be nice to win a trophy.

lol kenny is only there to stop the rot, this season is dead in the water for them, the real work comes once the new manager arrives in summer, though i assume by then comolli will have drawn up a wealth of good transfer targets
