The only thing he's proven is that he's a quality manager at mid table clubs (inter aside, though that was so long ago and they weren't the same club they are now). All he's "proven" is he is unable to step up to a bigger team.
From every press conferance to his transfers to his tactics, he has mid table written all over him.
Well what would you say is greater, Achieving great things that no manager has done with smaller clubs or bigger clubs ? Its like the next man to go to Man Utd, He doesn't have that hard a job to get them trophys. Liverpool where always on the downfall for a few seasons and thats a fact.
However he may only be proven a mid table teams but its greater achievements such as
1. Taking thw Swiss side to the last 16 of the world cup
2. Guiding Finland to 33rd in FIFA Rankings.
3. Hodgson took over iInter when the were finish 13th and 6th prior to seasons before.doesn't sound all that great to me. He finished 7th first season and left them when they were 3rd second and that team where taken to become Uefa cup winners.
4. He then guided Blackburn to 6th in the EPL
5. He then took 6-7th place seasons prior Copenhagen to win the title first since 1993.
6. He then failed at Udinese regretting taking the post.
7. And everyone knows what he done at Fulham
INformation from Wiki and not from me. So not taking credit or anything.
Yes he may have too mid table or small clubs but he done remarkable things with those clubs. Sometimes he failed but thats football only the true greats can do anything with anyteam and even then some fail at times. Roy is a great manager. Just not for Liverpool.
