SaintMotbot's Premier League Chairman Game

Think most teams, myself included had their hands tied this window due to being in negative balance, I didn't buy anyone because of this

I've gambled on the TV money coming in to cover my negative balance :P If they somehow do not, I guess some star players will be heading out this summer :P

I've gambled on the TV money coming in to cover my negative balance :P If they somehow do not, I guess some star players will be heading out this summer :P

Thing is I was already 40mill in debt and because of the big wages of Rooney and Santi I couldn't risk signing anyone

The deadline has passed, yes? I've gambled on the TV money, assuming we stay up of course :P

Newcastle United
November/December

Things here in the Chairmans Lounge have been very pooor of late. Jimmy Nail is in one corner mumbling about 'Crocodile Tears' whilst Gazza is stumbling around going on about 'Fog on the Tyne' so as you can guess it's not been a good season so far.

Again we are sitting far to close to the relegation zone for our liking and Rafa has had it explained to him that he better get his fingerola oot his ringerola or its adios.

Only three wins and two draws from ten league games is just not good enough although bashing the Mackems 2-0 at home was very satisfying. And our cup run ended in the quarter-finals as Man Utd beat us 3-1.

The board agreed not to splash any cash in January, but would allow Rafa to buy anyone he liked the look of, as we think we might need the cash in the off season to bring in a new gaffa to replace Rafa.

Sorry for the delay guys, this should be back up and running again tomorrow!

West Ham United update

David Cameron has SACKED manager Slaven Bilic after an atrocious run of results (including 5 defeats in the last 6 games) left the Hammers just 4 points above the relegation zone. Cameron didn't want to be seen as making rash decisions but relegation would be a disaster for him and West Ham. He did, however, thank Bilic for all of his hard work and effort while he was in charge.

He has replaced him with 50 year old Lazio manager Stefano Pioli. Pioli has a modest managerial record and has spent it all in his native Italy. It will be a big step up for the one-time Fiorentina centre back managing in England.

View attachment 161769

Cameron hopes that Pioli will be able to get the best out of this squad and lift West Ham up the table as quickly as possible.

Pioli was given the full transfer window to alter his squad as he saw fit, Cameron stated that a budget wouldn't be a problem as the tax payer was footing the bill. Pioli decided not to let any players leave as he wished to assess them all before the summer transfer window.

He did, however, invest heavily in young players.

View attachment 161768 Striker Luciano Vietto was brought in from Atletico Madrid for £37.5m

View attachment 161767 Attacking Midfielder Breel Embolo was signed for £24.5m from Basel

View attachment 161766 Rodrigo was signed on loan for the rest of the season from Valencia

Pioli explained to the assembled media that his focus was attack-laden but this was required as West Ham have only scored 23 goals in their 20 league games so far, whilst the defence has played ok for the most part.

With just 18 league games remaining, David Cameron has set Stefano Pioli a points target of 42, which he believes will see West Ham safe from the drop.

Beating the drop is a big, big priority for David Cameron and his beloved West Ham, they now see themselves almost £70m in debt and dropping out of the top division could spell disaster for the Hammers.

Manchester City Announcement

“Italians have a little joke, that the world is so hard a man must have two fathers to look after him, and that's why they have godfathers.”

The Don personally looked to ensure the inactivity of Summer did not happen 6 months later. Nobody quite knows how much the deals to bring players to Manchester City were. The papers have been reporting different figures everyday.

People in the know however claim that the Godfather made them clubs offers that they simply could not refuse. And the offer contained more than just $$$.

In came Ayemeric Laporte for a reported sum of over 30 Million. After Pellegrini personally requested the Don to have an alternative to injury prone Kompany, this deal was personally attended to by the Don.

Bernardo Silva was the Don's personal choice and Manuel Pellegrini had no say in this. Not that the Manager was not happy. Given the performances of Fernando and Fernandinho, he would gladly opt for more options in midfield.

Kevin Strootman was brought in loan to provide competition in midfield and provide company to the Don. He can speak some Italian you see.

Southampton appoint Klopp

View attachment 161547
Southampton Football Club can today confirm the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as our new first team manager. Klopp joins from Manchester United after a minimal compensation package was agreed between the clubs.

"Everybody here at Southampton FC would like to thank Ronald Koeman for everything he has done for the club, however now is the time to put ambition over sentiment and we all believe that Jurgen is the perfect man to lead us forward as a club" Said Saints chairman Ralph Krueger.

The Saints have been performing vastly beyond everybody's expectations this season and find themselves in 3rd place in the Premier League and in the knockout rounds of the Europa League, however new boss Klopp urges caution.

"This is a fantastic football club, with a fantastic fan base and all the elements are in place for massive success, we have a five year plan in place and intend to be European regulars by the end of that period in time, however while the squad adapts to my football ideas, we all would be delighted with a Europa League spot at the end of the season."

Gameweek 21

Manchester United see off Liverpool at Old Trafford in the game of the week, a two minute brace from Neymar enough to secure them the win, while Klopp marks his Saints debut by holding Arsenal to a 1-1 draw, Oxlade-Chamberlain returning to haunt his former club. Leicester lose out to Sunderland in a shock result and Watford are simply outclassed by Chelsea. Bournmouth pick up some valuable points against a hapless Swansea side, while Crystal Palace and Newcastle also win. Norwich valiantly hold Tottenham in the Saturday fixture.

A shocking week for the top clubs in the league. City are easily beaten by Newcastle, while Tottenham are edged out by Leicester in a tight contest. Paul Pogba sees to have a real discipline issue as he is sent off yet again for Arsenal, costing them their match against West Ham. Southampton hold Chelsea to a goalless draw leaving United and Watford as the real winners with their wins over West Brom and Swansea respectively.

Gameweek 23

A much more normal week this time around, ignoring the fact that Falcao scores again for Chelsea in their win over West Ham! United continue to look ominous by thrashing Sunderland, while Bournemouth continue good form by beating Leicester who seem to be dropping off. Arsenal thump Man City thanks to new signing Yarmolenko, Liverpool beat West Brom and Newcastle are starting to look good, beating Everton. Tottenham beat Stoke to keep on the pace and Watford do the same by beating Norwich.

Table

View attachment 161532
Liverpool keep their place at the top of the tree with Man Utd snapping at their heels and in ominous form under new manager Jose Mourinho. Arsenal sit in third, still just one win off the top of the table while Watford and Southampton sit 4th and 5th. Leicester have dropped off the pace of the leaders and now join the best of the rest scrap alongside Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City. Swansea are now in deep trouble along with West Brom, but its all up for grabs higher up the order with Bournemouth hauling themselves up and out of trouble.

Manchester United - January Roundup

JANUARY ROUNDUP

Transfer Window

A quiet transfer window with no business done whatsoever. I feel the squad is more than capable enough to compete on multiple fronts this season. Reinforcements will be considered in the summer transfer window, but the focus is likely to be on youth recruitment and bringing in one or two backups to strengthen the squad. There will also be outgoings.

Jurgen Klopp leaves for Southampton

Secondly, the club can confirm that Jurgen Klopp has left the club to take up the post at Southampton. The board was considering a change due to poor form in November and December, but nonetheless, Klopp leaves us with our best wishes for the future. We were able to agree a compensation fee with Southampton of the order of 1 million pounds.

Mourinho signs on

We're delighted to confirm that Jose Mourinho has agreed to take over as manager from Jurgen. Jose Mourinho is arguably the best manager in the world and we hope that this appointment makes us a major force to reckon with for years to come.

Results

The arrival of Mourinho has seen a significant upturn in form, with the club winning all but one of their games in January (that one being a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the Capital One Cup semifinal).

English Premier League

MAN UTD 2 - 1 LIVERPOOL
(Neymar x2; Coutinho)

What better first EPL game as Man Utd manager for Mou than a 2-1 win against arch-rivals (and table toppers) Liverpool. We did fall behind to a Coutinho strike, but two goals from Neymar (within a minute of each other) just before half-time put us in the lead. Martin Skrtel's red card later on sealed the win.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0 - 3 MAN UTD
(Memphis x2, Neymar (p))

A very commanding display away from home. The tie was over in the first 5 minutes itself thanks to Memphis' two goals within 4 minutes of each other. Neymar added a penalty on 11 minutes as we never looked like conceding in this one.

MAN UTD 4 - 1 SUNDERLAND
(Mata x2, Neymar, Saul; N'Doye)

Yet another come-from-behind victory at home, as Dame N'Doye gave Sunderland the lead on 12 minutes. That opened up the floodgates, as we were able to score four goals without response. Sunderland's lead lasted just 8 minutes as (player of the season thus far) Juan Mata scored the equalizer on 20 minutes. Seven minutes later, we were ahead thanks to Neymar. Mata's second goal on 68 minutes sealed the win, while Saul added a fourth goal on 79 minutes.

Capital One Cup Semi-Final

First Leg

ARSENAL 0 - 1 MAN UTD

Second Leg

MAN UTD 1 - 1 ARSENAL

Aggregate

ARSENAL 1 - 2 MAN UTD

We have progressed through to the Final of the Capital One Cup thanks to a victory over rivals Arsenal. It's always nice to get one over them! We now play Chelsea in the final, in what should be a cracker of a game.

FA Cup

Third Round

BURNLEY 0 - 3 MAN UTD

A comfortable win over Championship side Burnley sees us go through to the Fourth Round, where we face off against arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

Fourth Round

LIVERPOOL 1 - 2 MAN UTD

And just like that Jose Mourinho has two wins over Liverpool in one month! Add to that a win against Arsenal, and you can see why I think that this has been such an awesome month!

As always, I thank you for your support of the club. Now you need to do the same and vote for me in the elections.

-Frank Underwood

Manchester City appoint Guardiola

View attachment 161448

After a not so great first half to the Premier league season, the Godfather did not waste any time in making changes. Already looking forward to next season, and an eye on the Champion's league, Guardiola was appointed as the new Manchester City manager. It is assumed that this will bring a new era to the Etihad and fans are already excited at the quality of football that will be served up in City.

Godfather reserved special praise for the outgoing Pellegrini. He thanked Pellegrini for years of service and the trophies won under him. However, the change was for good.
"There are things that have to be done and you do them and you never talk about them. You don't try to justify them. They can't be justified. You just do them. Then you forget it."

Saints January Round up.

A somewhat quiet month for Southampton, with no transfers in or out of the club through the winter window. The one big change however is the arrival of Jurgen Klopp as our new manager. This might seem a bit of an odd decision to a lot of you as we were doing fantastically under Koeman, but that form wasn't going to last forever and Klopp's track record indicated he was the man that could lead us into the future.

View attachment 161421

A really good month for the club results wise, not losing at all this month to take our streak to 9 games unbeaten in all competitions. A point in each of the two matches against Arsenal and Chelsea was a fantastic start to Klopp's reign and shows some resilience which could be a useful trait. Victories over local rivals are always sweet and doubly so in the cup, and two come along in one month! We knock both Brighton and Bournemouth out of the FA Cup to progress to the 5th round.

Mario Gotze has been superb all season, but the link-up with his old manager has brought out the very best in the talented German play maker. With 8 goals and 8 assists in his 23 starts, he has become a crucial part of this side and everything we create goes through him.
