With the split coming up we take a huge advantage of 5 points into the final 6 games. St Mirren have plenty work to do to get 3rd. Rangers upset me by being pathetic on 27 points but St Johnstone and QOTS are 10 points or worse bellow that.

Not even our best performance against Celtic but Unal was on fire in the 1st half and his hattrick was what gave us the League Cup. We have progressively got more competitive against Celtic and to be regularly beating them in a almost fair contest is so pleasing!

We can win the title in our next match against Celtic at Tanadice. Need anymore insperation? At the other end St Johnstone needed no insperation to beat relegation rivals QOTS 4-0. Still much to do if they are to stay up.

End Of Season

Celtic Win at tannadice to spice up the last few games
Fell behind to Hearts and looked to have bottled it again but turned it around to win Dundee Utd's 1st league title in almost 40 years, First Old firm winners in 35 years and ending Celtic's streak at 8 in a row
Youth team then win our final game against Inverness which gives us the honor of breaking 100 points for only the 2nd time in the save a side does so.

Plenty of contender for the title of our key players but 19 goals and 12 assists from 41 games is enough to convince me. Holding onto him will be a struggle this summer.

SPL Review

Dundee Utd - 9/10 - I didnt quite feel i earned a 10/10 despite ending Celtics domination of the league. We did take the title but the side is reaching a vital point. Contracts are coming up and the ego's are deflating so how many will run off to pastures new?

Celtic - 6/10 - All the money and previously all the power but not a single bit of silverware to show for it this season. Laudrup HAS TO SPEND this summer! Relying on the best youth prospects to replace multi million pound sales is starting to show signs of long term failure. So much for the work i did putting that side together!

St Mirren - 7/10 - St Mirren Spent well to consolidate there place as the nations 3rd best side by following the Celtic loan system to fill out the squad further.

Inverness CT - 8/10 - Russell Latapy is back and there back in the top 6 again. Hopefully he'll stick around and improve on the squad at his disposal.

Hearts - 7/10 - Hearts will now be looking to make the next step up in the League. With the clubs, team and finances all back in order consecutive top 6 finishes suggests stability in there league performance too

Aberdeen - 6/10 - The Dons lost a few key players to the English game and will have to spend the money they got for them this summer to return to the top 6 next season.

Motherwell - 5/10 - Malky Mackay got the steelmen back on track/ I'd expect a top 6 finish but he is working with a limited team.

Hibs - 4/10 - Last year i said Hibs usually do well, then sell of there stars well they did fall back without selling many of there established stars. Steve Clarke lost his job and im not sure if Malpas will prove to be a good replacement.

Ross County - 5/10 - Always looked very safe which is all you can expect from County anything else would be a big achievement.

Rangers - 2/10 - How is McCoist getting his contact renewed? They were saved from a relegation battle thanks to St Johnstone and QOTS being abysmal!

QOTS - 4/10 - A Decent effort by the new team. Deserved to go down but cant fault there challenge with Craig Levin in charge.

St Johnstone - 3/10 - After showing signs of life last season the went to pieces this year. A pretty awful effort through the year while poor business in the transfer market was the final straw.

Out

The big 2 players leaving were Jan Zeman and Patrik David who were not willing to extend there contracts and had been causing unrest toward the end of the season s i sold them now to make sure i got paid. With 2 youth forwards and Jack Love joining it was time to say bye to the best striker i've had so far James Collins who went of to Birmingham. Rediculous offers for young Italians Versaci & Federico brought in another ?6.8m while Stuart McLean's failure to develop meant he went off to Hearts.

SPL Review

Dundee Utd - 8/10 - I drop my score as we finished 5 points down on last year and Celtic were far less opposition than before. A few players have already commited to moving on so we'll see where we are at the other end of the summer.

Celtic - 6/10 - Another step backwards for the Parkhead side despite taking home the League cup the side is so far off its potential. Selling Mendy and Ince during the season lef the squad with the bones of the quality that was coming through 4 summers ago. They werent even in Europe after August embarrassing stuff.

Hearts - 8/10 - How about the Jambo's. Im amazed how well they have come on. Spent very well to strengthen the side from teh start getting solid youth players like Shaugnessy, Danny Mullen and Robbie Muirhead and developing them into players which finished 3rd in there Europa league Group as well as 3rd in the league.

Hibs - 7/10 - I was wrong to doubt Malpas. The former Dundee Utd legend brought hibs right back into the top 6 and into Europe after selling off several of there better players. Buying a better one in William Gauld was the main reason behind there rise.

St Mirren - 5/10 - The clubs worst season in almost a decade as they returned to the loan everyone strategy which brought them to be a solid top 6 side. They dont need to do this now that there squad has stength in depth

Ross County - 7/10 - Many changes for County and it seems to have paid off at they managed to catch up Motherwell and get an impressive top 6 finish.

Motherwell - 4/10 - A massive clear out was not enough to lock down a top 6 finish but clearing out the rubbish is a good step forward.

Rangers - 3/10 - They improved but any faith i had im McCoist left when he spent ?2m on 2 Sheffield Wednesday players.

Inverness CT - 4/10 - If they could get Latapy to stay at the club they would be laughing. However they cant and they should get used to the bottom 6 despite having a 41 goal striker force.

Aberdeen - 3/10 - What a awful year to be a Don. Huge mistakes have been made in the board room by sacking McInnes and neither of his replacements have done anything to stop the fall of the Dons. I hope they stay away from relegation next summer as im far from ready to step in.

Hamilton - 4/10 - A decent effort by the Accies. They spent well in my opinion by picking up Sibbald and Gavin Reily who were great on the wings. They were in the fight to survive most of the season falling just short in the end with a play off defeat to St Johnstone.

Kilmarnock 2/10 - Killie tried to loan the world to keep themselves in the SPL and it failed miserably. Better luck next time.
