Show off your regen/newgen - FM14

have a look at this regen in my save. Not in my team currently but i bought him when he was 16 and Dortmund came for him with an offer i couldnt resist. his attributes was good but didnt expect it to be like this. he must be undergoing some good training at Dortmund. so you see players can really develop with the right training. this one wasnt trained by me tho.

Looking good. In my experiences on past games, poacher regens with good attributes for finishing, the expected mentality ones and just good enough positioning scores for fun no matter the quality of the squad he's in. Even if said regen got low PA (as in 135-ish low) and his other attributes like pace, technique etc. are rather pathetic.

This guy is dominating the German League

View attachment 678030

44 Total Goals, 35 Goals in German League with 15 Assists. IMO the better Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I bought him for 1.5M two seasons ago from Boca. I basically forced them to transfer him by declaring interest and continuing to bid on him.

Haha, here's another Leverkusen manager with a beastly mountain man of a forward-ish regen(s) reporting!

View attachment 339242

Mine is not featuring that much on games as a key player though just yet, what with the old guards like Kießling and co. still wreaking havoc all over the place, haha. He is already the designated set piece specialist however, with "hits free kick with power" PPM in place. Plays best as a shadow striker to counter-bully opposition's deep midfielders. I just hope that whatever PAs he got left in his tank goes to his mental stats.

BTW these are some of the better ones from my regens:

As you might noticed, most of them are rather tall somehow. There are a few others in my rooster that are supposedly having better potentials according to my coaches but they don't seem to develop as well as I'd like to so far.

omg, nice guys. how you found they?

He found they on Genie scout and probably FMRTE.

Bahahaa **** no man! I found them the normal method, and most of the Germans are from my own team youth graduates. The others were found by my scout (lots of them). I set a weekly notebook reminder in-game for the worldwide youth intake dates, then I assign my scouts over there. Then I just dump sign a bunch of them. Most of them end up being ****, haha. For every single one that ends up being a quality prospect, there's about 3-4 times the amount of the mediocre-to-poor ones. But who cares, they're cheap.

But I do admit though that I use the scouting tool periodically at each season's end only to look at my player's hidden attributes (versatility, injury proneness, professionalism, pressure, etc.). I use the MacAssistant one since I'm playing on Mac OSX.

Speaking of which, I actually found out that way that one of the glitzier one from those that I posted before possessing a low PA, lol.

BTW attached below are the range of the other regen quality I amassed. The first one I found out a season later he's actually having 190 PA. Doesn't seem to improve much after 2-3 seasons somehow. The middle one got sold. The last one is a troll. He took a very significant drop in attributes except for determination ever since got signed to my club.

Some more from my Stockport save...

I posted a while back about my Stockport team, and here's an updated list of my best regens:

GOALKEEPER: Gethin Lewis
View attachment 338819
Played every minute of league football for the last 2.5 seasons. Signed from Chelsea for £775k - I don't understand why the AI is so bad at keeping promising players. England's #1 since Joe Hart became a bit knackered. I'm annoyed that his stats have dropped since he usually looks better than this. But he always performs brilliantly and makes some astonishing saves.

RIGHT BACK: Jordan Wright
View attachment 338818
An important man for club and country (I just got the England job as well, finally!), Jordan's versatility is invaluable. I play him at right back because my midfield is very crowded but he does a sterling job wherever he's played.

CENTRE BACK: Edu Oliveira
View attachment 338817
I've kept #24 on Edu because I like it for some reason. He's an elegant all-rounder who comes up with big goals and big performances on a consistent basis. His heading has dropped in the past year or so and he's pushing 30 but he's still my first pick.

CENTRE BACK: Idrissa Kélépily
View attachment 338816
Silly name, serious talent. This lad scored something like 9 goals in the first 20 games of last season, which would be a decent return for a mid-table striker. Big and uncompromising and a great leader, he's still got plenty of growth left in him at only 22.

LEFT BACK: Mamadou Camara
View attachment 338815
First choice since he was 19, this lad could end up with all sorts of appearances records for Stockport. The complete full back, he's quick, powerful, tough and can put in a decent cross. Goes from strength to strength and those stats just keep improving. Hard to believe he's still only 21. Formed a great French partnership with Kélépily on the left hand side of defence for club and country.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Guillermo Tunani
View attachment 338814
Completing the French triumvirate is the best player in the world, Guillermo Tunani. I've recently started to use a midfield 3 more often to get more out of Tunani, who's now my captain - I put him in a CM(a) role and last year he paid me back with 16 goals and 22 assists, as well as 17 yellow cards! Just a stunningly brilliant player, the best I've ever had on FM. I didn't use Genie Scout to buy him (I'd been tracking him for years as I made my rise through the leagues, and I didn't even have Genie Scout at the time) but I've since been naughty and looked at his hidden stats - he's just hit his PA of 195. Which explains a lot.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Ivo Sousa
View attachment 338813
The quality of this team means that Ivo isn't guaranteed to start; I bought him as an Anchorman but he's developed into a really classy player capable of filling a playmaker or box-to-box role further forward.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Gustavo Lopes
View attachment 338812
Buying young and bringing through youth products has left me with overflowing coffers, so on a whim I bought Gustavo for £50m from Real Madrid. He's a stunning player so I think you can see why I paid so much.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Dave Russell
View attachment 338811
The crown jewel of my youth system, Stockport-born Dave Russell is developing beautifully into the English Xavi. An unbelievable passer with a lovely habit of scoring stunning long-range strikes, he'll be Stockport and England captain within 4 years.

RIGHT WING: Jamaica
View attachment 338810
Another silly name, another stupendous talent. Jamaica supplanted a club legend on the right wing but last season he scored 19 and assisted 35, so I think it was worth it. Outrageously good player. He still has a bit of developing to do as well...

LEFT WING: Moacir Alexandre
View attachment 338809
Moacir started as an out-and-out striker but I've since trained him at left wing and he plays as a direct IF(a). And he's seriously good at it. One of the most effective inside forwards I've ever had, in fact. That pace is just obscene. On his day he's simply unplayable, and it's his day more often than not.

STRIKER: Gastón Gutiérrez
View attachment 338808
The new Messi. He's still not quite maxed out, my AssMan says he has half a star left; I signed Gastón from Real Madrid for a crazy release clause of £7.25m. He started out as a natural AMC and only Accomplished at ST but I trained him to Natural up front; when he became natural he suddenly clicked and last season he scored 41 goals in 40 games as a DLF(s). Classy.

STRIKER: Damien McClements
View attachment 338807
I have to leave Damien till last for the reason outlined in red in the picture. The club's record goalscorer by some 150 goals, he's now coming to the end of his career at his beloved Stockport and he's nowhere near good enough to start, but I kept playing him so he'd hit the big 250 before he leaves when his contract runs out at the end of the year. Signed for a free when I was in League Two, this phenomenal man fired me right up to the Champions League crown despite having average stats. An absolute monster, and hands down the best value-for-money signing I've ever made on any Football Manager game. And I've been playing since 1999.

OTHER PLAYERS:
View attachment 338806
A handy young Brazilian with another ridiculous name, he's been a bit unlucky with injuries so far in his Stockport career but once McClements leaves Camanducaia will find more opportunities. I turned down a £45m bid from Bayern over the summer so I've put great faith in this lad.

View attachment 338805
Ashley started out with a terrible personality but I managed to beat that out of him due to his obscene potential; he's a natural CB retrained at RB due to his phenomenal pace, but I like the idea of using him as a CB on Cover. Plenty of developing yet to do.

View attachment 338804
Another promising full back, I signed Alexander when he was just 14 and he's been quietly developing ever since. He's now in the Senior squad and getting regular game time.

View attachment 338803
This lad came very close to leaving - his "Resolute" personality is heavy on the Ambition side whereas I tend to get along better with Professional personalities. But then he forced his way into the first-team setup with some stunning performances and I sold some other, less promising prospects instead. Shame he plays in the same DLF(s) slot as Gutiérrez above, because otherwise he'd be a shoo-in for a starting position.

View attachment 338802
Another Stockport youth system graduate, Max has crazy potential but a crazy injury record which will need to be carefully managed. Model Pro personality helps though.

View attachment 338801
I don't quite understand his terrible Jumping Reach attribute but Erdal is otherwise an extremely solid performer, only kept out of the team because Kélépily and Oliveira are such a good partnership. Patiently waiting for Oliveira to retire although I might have sold him for big money by then.

View attachment 338800
Another brilliant young CB with limitless potential, I gave Javier his international debut when I was Spain manager (2022-2024) and then bought him off Real Madrid for £47m as a 17-year-old (terrible value for money, I need to stop funding Real Madrid's shameful spending). He's not really hit the heights yet but he's got so much room for development that I know he'll be fine. I love a good ball-playing defender.

Hands down, Damien McClements is still my favorite among those. Those kind of truly efficient players attributes-wise are my kind of players. Can we have a look on his PA though, pretty please? :p

Mine too, he's my hero! I just had a look and his PA is a mighty 135 (H)

He's on the decline too, CA is down at 129 and dropping. His contract's up at the end of the season and he wants to move as he wants a new challenge (fair enough after 10 years at the club and winning everything there is to win from League 2 upwards!), so I'll be letting him go for a free at the end of the season, and he will go with my fondest blessings. I'm also going to harp on at him about being a coach when he retires so I can sign him up

EDIT: I should also point out that he's scored 153 Premiership goals, which (using current figures since the figures don't exist in-game sadly) puts him at 8th in the all-time list, although his goals-to-games ratio (153 in 201 Premiership games) puts the rest to shame: http://soccerlens.com/all-time-premier-league-top-scorers/5804/
