This is a fantastic idea, great so far, keep up the good work, definitely following.

Do you have a youth academy? I know you don't have an u18 team, but doesn't that mean you will just have to keep buying u23 players? And what happens when they get to 23+ will you sell them or just release them?

Yeah, I've got a Youth Academy. I assume I'll be buying the majority of future squads if I want the best English talent, though.

I'll be looking to sell them but if it comes to it, they'll be released.

Ok, and what rating is the youth academy?

It's 20.

That's to make it realistic. Yes, hear me out. :P

You know Burton, which this story is based around, was meant to have brilliant facilities where all the England teams from U16 up could train. Now we've turned it into a club, it's got the best facilities.

Oh yeah, any less would have been unrealistic.

Top class stuff as always Eds.....hope the Database is working good and there are no hiccups

Nice idea, and you obviously put quite some work into this. For that you get a thumbs up and some feedback from me :) I know it can be frustrating when no one comments on your story.

Btw, are you planning to take up a job in the national team so you can manage your prospects in international matches?

If offered, I plan to take a job at England, yeh. But I doubt I'll be offered that for a while, considering my lads are in League 2.

Thanks for the comment.

I love this story! I will follow! Brilliant idea a academy. :)
If i may ask... How old is your oldest player?

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Hot and cold month for the Dragon Slayers
"From conceding three in an entire month, to four in one game. I suppose it was Arsenal, but we need consistency. We even conceded two against Peterbrough." I was baffled as to why the team couldn't play at the same level every game. I suppose that's football.

As I put pen to paper, I really couldn't think of our ideal formation. "We've got five very good strikers in the squad, but eight young, talented midfielders, and I don't play without four defenders. What to do."

Jack Rodwell, Fabian Delph and Victor Moses had all been injured this month. The spine of my team. This ****** headache wasn't going to help me think of someone to fill in for them.

Michael Mancienne can just about slot into Defensive Midfield in place of Jack, but who else. We've got time, plenty of time. We may be out of the cups, which I am actually rather concerned about, but we really must win League 2. For the sake of the club, we have to win it.

The 5-1 win over Peterbrough was particularly pleasing; but obviously to be knocked out of the Johnson's Paint Trophy is bitterly disappointing. Garh, this darn headache. I grimace in pain as I get out my chair to my medicine cabinet.

Ah, the paracetamol. I took it out and wondered into the kitchen to put the kettle on. I pondered over the Midfield roles. Who could play there? Could Greenhalgh drop back into the centre? No, definately no. Cleverley, Henderson? No, neither are capable.

*RING RING* *RING RING*

The phone shocked me, and I startled. But I calmed down and answered it.

"Hello." I said, quickly.
"Is that Trevor Brooking?" a muffled, foreign voice questioned.
"Yes, yes it is."
"You need to know who you are talking to. I am Roberto Gerrati, and I belong to a group of proud Spanish men, who live in England."
"Yes..." I said, wondering where this was heading.
"I want you to break up St. George FC."
"This is ridiculous. How did you get this nu..."
"Do it, Senor Brooking, or the ones you wish to save, shall die."
The phone went dead.

"What in God's name?! That must be a prank call, surely? But what did he mean by the ones I wish to save shall die?"

I passed it off as a prank call, and went to bed, I couldn't do anymore work, not after that. But I kept thinking about it and the gruffled Spanish voice. "The ones you wish to save, shall die."

Too bad, you've lost against Arsenal. And it was only the first stage in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy so don't worry. And "The Ones You Wish to save, shall die." WTF??

P.S. Thanks for answering my question so quickly. :D

Well I love it when there is a funny story instead of just pictures of what you've scored in matches.
And there are many more things I like about a story and you have it all! ;)
