The month started terribly with consecutive defeats by the odd goal, before two tight 1-0 victories put us back on track. Hopefully those two defeats were just a slight blip and we can continue on towards promotion...

A couple of goals from the right winger this month was enough to see me award him player of the month, however there wasn't much to choose from in all honesty!

League Table:

Gap to 4th has decreased slightly to 6 points but hopefully a good March will see us extend it again. What is interesting however, is the fact our goal difference is significantly lower than the two teams above us which shows we don't win games as comfortably as those two teams and often have to scrape out our wins.

Next update will be the March update, including games against both of the sides above us and therefore it will be a pivotal month in deciding our fate this season. We'll also get our first youth intake but I'm not expecting much from it, although I have improved the junior coaching twice since I took over and it is now at an 'average' level.

Could this be the month that ruins our season? Just 5 points from 5 games and a crushing 5-1 defeat to the leaders is an awful return for a team chasing promotion and it has highlighted the fact that we just don't have enough goals in the team. To be fair this has been coming as we couldn't keep grinding results out by the odd goal...

Player of the Month - Nobody

I really couldn't pick anyone this month, nobody put in more than one 'decent' performance.

Player Stats:

View attachment 374062

This again highlights the lack of goals in the squad as our major problem. 12 goals in 32 games from my main striker is not good enough!

League Table:

View attachment 374063

Our poor form sees us drop to 5th and the two teams above us have a game in hand
:S We're certainly not out of it but I'm thinking we may now have to spend another season in the National...

Youth Intake:

View attachment 374060

A pretty decent intake but I'm not sure whether we will be able to develop them well enough to make any of them first team regulars in the future. Here are a few of the better players...

Next update will be 4 games in April, can we turn around our form?

That Youth Intake :O!!! Poor month though :/

Wow my youth intake for AC Horsens is full of half star players haha

That Youth Intake :O!!! Poor month though :/

Yeah, it gives me hope that we will get even better ones when we eventually get to Ligue 1 and get to improve our facilities. Don't think we'll get promoted this year, don't score enough goals :/

Haha, I don't think any of them will ever be regulars as they only have Ligue 2 potential and hopefully we'll have outgrown that by the time they reach their potential...

Well it looked as though we were building a little form with 2 wins at the start of the month, however 1 point from the following 2 leaves us outside the promotion places with 4 games to go. Very disappointing and if we don't go up we'll only have ourselves to blame!

Player of the Month - Maxime Tarasconi

View attachment 374096

First player to get awarded this twice, Maxime has been great this month and tried to help us create more chances and score more goals.

Player Stats:

View attachment 374098

Tarasconi now has 12 assists for the season and Murcy added 2 goals to his tally for the month. Still no standout 'star' player though...

League Table:

View attachment 374099

Anyone of 3 teams could take the final promotion place, but USBCO are certainly favorites and I'm doubtful we can put the sort of run together needed to overtake them.

Next update will be the final 4 games of the season in May, can we secure promotion or will it be another season in the National?

4 points from 4 games was never going to be enough, and it is probably more than we deserved! We never looked dangerous enough going forward and despite being good defensively we often lose goals trying to go more attacking to force chances. Big changes are needed up front and on the wings!

Player of the Month - Florent Ogier

View attachment 374112

The Frenchman put in solid performances at the back, but it was to no avail...

Player Stats:

View attachment 374114

14 goals from my main striker is not good enough, add that to the fact our next highest scorer only got 7 and you can see where our main problem was...

League Table:

View attachment 374115

The board's target was a respectable league position and the media prediction was 7th, so 5th should be seen as a success in that regard. HOWEVER, we were in 3rd place for the majority of the season and we fell to bits in the last 1/3 of the season. The positive I can take is that we turn professional next season so I will be able to get people on full time contracts and hopefully that will mean better players will be available...

Next update will probably be a short end of season review, if not it will be a preview for the 2013/2014, once again in the French National:(

Think I've got a problem. It's the 1st of July in game, the new fixtures have been released but the club has not turned professional :S Also, when I go to the option in the boardroom it says 'the board is not willing to take this request as not enough time has passed since it was last requested'. Any ideas on what's gone wrong? They said we will make sure we turn professional in time for the start of next season when I asked at the start of last season so it should've happened by now right?...

Keep going might happen a bit later. They might have changed their mind :s

Yeah I'm not too fussed if we don't get it this year (although it would help massively), I'm just worried it's a glitch and it's not going to let us turn pro at all :S

Ok, I've found the problem I think, the option to turn pro is still greyed out but it now says the club can't afford to turn pro so it must have been cancelled for financial reasons.

Season Expectations:

View attachment 374165

The board shares the same expectation as me this season, promotion! This may be difficult as we haven't had the chance to improve the squad all that much with not turning pro but we'll give it our best shot!

Transfers:

View attachment 374166

Loads of reserve/backup players have left as they were just adding unwanted wages onto the wage budget for no reason. The two loan signings from parent club Monaco are mainly going to be squad players and the free transfer Kevin Lefaix is hopefully going to be our new first choice striker, although my assistant doesn't rate him as highly as Murcy, I think he has good stats for a poacher. Here are the 3 new lads...

Tactics and First 11:

View attachment 374171

Slightly adapted from last year to accommodate for the many defensive midfielders in the squad, is there anything you would change about this tactic?

My first update for the season will include our first 5 games of the season in August, can we get off to a good start or will we continue our awful form from the end of last season?

A decent start but we should have won that game against Le Poire at the end of the month. I still don't think we are playing well enough or look consistent enough for a promotion push but I hope the lads prove me wrong.

Player of the Month - Kevin Lefaix

4 goals in 4 starts for our new man up top, a great start and long may it continue.

Just like last season we make it into the promotion places early on, lets hope we can stick it out this year!

Tactics:

View attachment 374204

I adjusted the tactics again just before the start of the season, trying to focus more on direct play as we weren't creating enough chances with high creative freedom and short passing. Is there any ways in which I can improve this tactic?

Next update will be September, where we'll play 5 league games.

So inconsistent... 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw. We just have games where we don't create any chances and then they get one chance and score! Hopefully, we can use our latest win to set a run of good form.

One of our most consistent performers is the French center half, a now 3 time winner of this award.

Lefaix's goals were not as frequent this month, but we shared out the goals between the squad a bit more.

Have you ever seen a league so tight? Luckily we are still very much in the hunt but it's only a matter of time before a few teams pull away, let's hope we are one of them!

Next update will be October's games, can we find form and pull away or will we keep our stuttering form going?

A 100% record in a month for the first time since I took the job I think! There was only 4 games, including one in the cup, but this is the sort of form we have been crying out for and it has pushed us up that league table.

Player of the Month - Gael Germany

Averaged 7.9 from his 3 games he played this month!

Player Stats:

View attachment 374273

The 4 highlighted players have been brilliant so far this season and a special mention goes to Senegalese center half Faty, who spent last year in the reserves recovering from a major injury but has fought back from it brilliantly this season to prove his worth to the team.

League Table:

View attachment 374275

Top of the league with a game in hand! We need to keep our momentum going and start to pull away from those below us...

Tactic:

View attachment 374276

I actually changed this back at the start of last month and it could be the reason for our change in form? A little similar to last season but a few tweaks have been made, including a ball winning midfielder on support instead of a deep lying playmaker and we're playing a lot higher of a defensive line to supplement our pressing game.

Next will be a November and December update like last year, can we hold on to top spot and make it a merry Christmas for those at Paris FC?

Much better month, league looks so tight mind!!

Not as good as October, but we did pull off two very impressive wins (7-1 and 5-1) in the league. I wasn't too disappointed with the early cup exit as I'm only really fussed about getting promoted. The main disappointment was the poor display against Cannes which came out of the blue, we didn't create 1 chance all game.

Player of the Months - Salim Moizini

View attachment 374599

6 goals in 6 games was a very impressive return for the right winger, hopefully he can keep this form going into 2014...

Just so much improvement from last season, hopefully we can keep it up!

6 points clear of 4th but with the loss to AS Cannes we are only 1 point clear at the top of the league. Still, if I was offered this position at the start of the season I would have taken.

Next update will be another two month update due to only 3 games in both January and February.

Unbeaten over the 6 games with 3 wins and 3 draws, a good strong resilience being shown by the boys as we fought hard in every game, even though injuries and suspensions to a couple of key players.

Player of the Months - Cherif Faty

The Senegalese center back has been an absolute rock at the back over the past two months, and even has his shooting boots on in a key game against Ardennes , bagging a brace!

We remain top of the league two months down the line and we're 9 points clear of 4th, so we're doing pretty well! Is it only me who has just noticed there are two less teams in the league this year?
XD

Next up is 5 fixtures in March and our latest youth intake...
