Youth side of things looks promising which is always good, and first team is overperforming aswell - pretty much all going good for ya so far mate, hope you don't get half way season syndrome!

Thanks mate! It's definitely going to be an interesting season as a lot of the games are end to end and could go either way really.

Looking good, and the youth players look promising!

I'm just hoping they can still develop to their potential despite us not having the best of facilities...

Haha that's the best part! Can't beat end to end games mate! I only got FM13 the other day (took ages to get this years edition, lost interest last year) but it's so much better than FM12 its unreal, addicted already! Your players should develop fine with some good coaches and the right amount of playing time mate, of course facilities help but there's nothing better for them than playing time

1 win, 2 draws and 2 defeats from 5 games is more like what I expected this season to be honest. Not too worried though as the games have been pretty tight and we have not taken any batterings.

The Senegalese center back was impressive over the month, averaging 7.8 and helping the team keep 2 clean sheets.

Tarasconi's amazing early season performances have slightly dropped and is maybe the reason why we haven't scored as many goals being that he is the main creative spark in the team. The main thing holding us back though is a top class striker for this level.

Still close to the promotion places in 4th! However the league is unbelievably tight and by the end of the next update we could probably be anywhere between 1st and 19th...

Next update will be November and December where we have 5 league games and at least 1 Coup de France game, but hopefully at least a couple more.

Only 1 loss from 7 games and we are safely through to the 9th round of the Coup de France, which I believe is the equivalent of the 3rd round of the FA Cup. However we have drew a Ligue 1 side away from home so that may be as far as we can go...

2 hatricks in the 2 cup games from the young French striker!

Player Stats:

Slightly disappointed by Gael Germany's performances this season as I believe he is a better player than a 6.98 average rating. However, right back Kelsch's performances have picked up recently and his average rating reflects that.

League Table:

The league is still very, very tight. If we want to build an unlikely promotion push in the second half of the season, we will have to start turning a few of our draws into wins as there are a few too many draws at the moment.

Next update will be a January update, with our Coup de France third round tie and 3 league fixtures.

2 wins in the Coup de France set up our dream 11th round tie against PSG, whilst 2 wins from 3 games in the league keep us pushing along nicely.

We're keeping our unlikely promotion push alive as we're only 2 points off the promotion spots. The league is still very tight though...

Next update will be a February review, including our massive Coup de France game against PSG. Can we topple the giant or will we be put in our place by our neighbors?

A decent month but it could have been so much better... Both of our draws in the league came after we were leading in the game and we threw away the lead. I suppose we can't be too fussy though as we didn't lose a league game over the month. As for the PSG game...

View attachment 375827

Our first meeting against our big rival ended in a very respectable 1-0 defeat. Their team boasted such talent as Ibrahimovic, Pastore and Cabaye so we did very well to have nearly an even share of possesion, although we never really carved out any clear cut chances. We also set a new record attendance for the club of 23,914, although around 17,000 of them were apparently away fans The gate recites were not quite as high as I would have hoped (190k) but I suppose that is due to the fact we still have a very low reputation and our average ticket price is only £8. It is unlikely that we will turn professional next year imo, unless we get promoted or the prize money is good in this league, however our finances are certainly improving!

Lots of injuries have hit the squad so March will be a very hard/interesting month for the club. The biggest worry is both 1st team strikers are injured so under 19's striker Jean-Pierre Simo (screenshot on post 60 of this thread) has had to step in at at just 17 years old to lead the line and his first start for the club came in the derby against PSG. Talk about a baptism of fire!

In the promotion places on goal difference. We really could have done with those 4 points we threw away with the injuries we now currently have as it is going to be hard trying to maintain this position through March. Hopefully we can continue to pull off a few surprises though!

Next update will be a March update with 4 league games, including a trip to league leaders Stade Malherbe Caen in the first one!

You're on a roll!
You did pretty well to only lose 1-0 to PSG!
Unlucky with the injuries

So... with 3 games to go we sit in 2nd place, 4 points ahead of Auxerre in 4th who coincidentally are our next fixture. Therefore, if we beat them I think we will be all but promoted, although Evant could catch us up with 3 wins out of 3 and a goal difference swing. We actually play Evant on the last day so that could be interesting! However, things will get a lot more complicated if Auxerre beat us and this will leave a lot more permutations going into the last 2 games.

Youth Intake:

View attachment 375943

A lot of 4 star potential players here which is rated as 'a good Ligue 2 player'. However, a few of them have since jumped to 4 and a half star potential since signing their contracts which means they apparently have the potential to be 'good Ligue 1 players'. To be fair we have had pretty good intakes so far and this is how our under 19's look...

The month started with the big game against Auxurre but unfortunately we succumbed to a 2-1 defeat, opening the door to a few more teams in the promotion push. Luckily we bounced back with a 1-0 win in a very tight game against Ajaccio and this was enough to see us promoted to Ligue 1 as other teams faltered!

If you said we'd have finished 2nd at the beginning of the season I'd have laughed considering we're the only semi-pro team in the league. However, we pretty much just picked up from where we left off last season and I think we deserve promotion as we were always in and around the promotion places.

Next up will be an end of season review
:D

Haha quality had a funny feeling you might nick a promotion spot, done well to do that mate your club will do well to stay up next year! What's the finances looking like after going up?
