Have a look at Paloschi mate, you could get him on that ownership you wont regret it!

Good draw v AC milan mate

Yeah, best performance of the season, even if it is only a draw.

Can you post the tactic?

Will do...:)

I have been looking, Parma are near the bottom, so I may wait until the end of the season, as I may get him cheaper.;)

Mid-Season Review
Time to Look Back....
Last updated: 2nd January 2011

San_Paolo3.jpg

Now that the halfway point of the season has came, it is time to look at the tactics and the players which has lead the club to it's current healthy position.

9wrfp.png

Stuart Watson has primarily stuck with three tactics this season. Let's have a look at them in a little more detail

The 4-4-2/4-2-4

j7QZ7.png

A very attacking formation. This promotes the use of the San Paolo's wide pitch, with two very attacking Inside Forwards on the wings. The full backs sit in a supporting role, going forward when needs be, but making sure their defensive priorities are upheld. Hamsik acts as a Playmaker in the centre, complimented well with the strong, Ball-Winning-Midfielder Gargano(or Blasi). Hamsik either distributes to the wings, or advances to the frontline, looking for the killer balls to the frontmen.
Edinson Cavani is in the perfect role for a strong, athletic player like himself. He sits as a Target Man, holding up the ball, and flicking it to his partner, Ezequiel Lavezzi, who is used as a poacher, sitting as high as possible, looking for the deflections and flick ons to put away.

The 4-5-1

iqhdX.png

A less attacking formation than the previous one. A defensive midfielder sits in the hole to stop playmakers or any midfielders from joining attacks. Hamsik employs the same Attacking Midfield role as before, and Blasi partners him in the centre as a Ball-Winning-Midfielder. The wingers play as Inside Forwards, who will move infield now and again to partner the lone striker.
Ezequiel Lavezzi usually gets the nod in this formation, as he has much higher speed and acceleration, accompanied with good dribbling. He plays as an Advanced Forward.

The 4-4-1-1

ea78z.png

This formation has only been seen against Roma, Juventus and AC Milan. It's defensive/counter attacking style works very well against the more flamboyant, attacking sides in the league. On either side, run-of-the-mill wingers rather than inside forwards, to make sure that quality wide playerssuch as Robinho do not have the space they require to change games. The central midfield is very strong and rugged. Blasi acts as the link between the bustling style of Gargano, and the more flamboyant Hamsik. Again, Lavezzi will more likely start in this formation, for the same reasons as above.

4JFPu.png

Now, we are going to look at the success stories of the players. The majority of the squad has played to a high standard, but we have narrowed it down to 1 defender, 1 midfielder, and 1 striker.

Defender - Sebastien Bassong
76Y25.jpg

The Cameroon International has continually impressed since joining in late August, with strong displays in the center of midfield. Has pushed ahead of Cribari and Mongongu in the starting XI.

Midfielder - Marek Hamsik
zO3B5.jpg

The heartbeat of the whole team has had a very good season so far, playing a little deeper than he normally would, it hasn't stopped him setting up 6 goals so far.

Striker - Edinson Cavani
3efcN.jpg

Upon his arrival at Napoli, everyone knew he had potential. However, no-one knew he would decimate almost every defence this season, scoring 17 goals so far, and also has scored in SEVEN consecutive matches for Napoli.

FLOP OF THE SEASON(SO FAR)
1571018_w4.jpg

There could be only one. After a 2m move from Levski in July, Garra Dembele was supposed to be the perfect backup to Lavezzi. However, a disastrous pre-season, followed by 8 poor appearances for the club, Napoli sent Garra packing, selling to Sevilla, making(surprisingly) a profit of 400k.

January & Transfer Review
Season Looking Very Good
Last updated: 1st February 2011

lucarelli-napoli.jpg

As Serie A resumed, and the transfer window opened, Napoli were very busy on both fronts. Let's see what happened in January

MATCHES

Juventus 1-2 Napoli - Lavezzi(31), Cavani(79)
Edison+Cavani+SSC+Napoli+v+Bologna+FC+Serie+pD-ssFsCaKDl.jpg

Napoli showed no sign of rust, as they continued their fine form. An early chance for Juve that should have been converted seemed to wake up the visitors. After hafl an hour, Lavezzi broke past Chiellini to slot the ball past Buffon. The first half's action ended there, with neither side looking to press any possessional advantage home. it took until midway through the 2nd half for either side to create a chance, and it was a trademark Del piero free-kick that evened the game. Just five minutes later, Cavani climbed above Legrottaglie to head home what proved to be the winner
MoM - S. Bassong - An outstanding performance from the defender, stopping Del Piero and Iaquinta constantly.

Napoli 3-0 Brescia - Cavani(18), Sosa(71), Lucarelli(pen, 90+4)

Napoli continued their fine form, convincingly defeating Brescia. Napoli started brightly, constantly looking to press in the final third. It was a free-kick taken by Zeman, latched onto by Cavani, that broke the deadlock. Napoli played a very containing game from then, and it wasn;t until deep into the second half when Napoli pressed home their advantage. Jose Sosa cut inside, before unleashing a thunderous strike beyond Sereni, making it 2-0. A rare start for Lucarelli saw him brought down in the box. The veteran stepped up and converted the penalty, extinguishing any doubt of the scoreline.
MoM - E. Cavani - Started well, and constantly hassled the defence.

TIM Coppa Italia
Napoli 4-2 Chievo - Maggio(53, 105), Sosa(76), Cavani(117)
maggio-NAPOLI.jpg

In one of the greatest Coppa Italia games in recent history, Napoli overcame a resilient Chievo side to progress to the next round. Granoche surprised the fans, giving the visitors the lead after 47 minutes. Six minutes later, Napoli winger Maggio struck to level the scores. Jose Sosa scored in his second consecutive game to give the hosts the lead with 14 minutes left. Gelson Fernandes cropped up in the right place at the right time to equalize with just 2 minutes left, sending the game into extra time. The first period was fairly quiet, but Napoli turned up the heat in the second, with Maggio bagging his second of the game. Cavani then scored to make sure that Napoli progressed, with 117 minutes gone.
MoM - C. Maggio - scored two well taken goals, and was dangerous throughout.

Napoli 2-0 Chievo - Cavani(59), Lavezzi(75)
ROMA-NAPOLI-LAVEZZI-ESULTA-FOTOCUOMO-2_news.jpg

For the second game in a row, Napoli dispatched of Chievo. A very quiet game, that saw Napoli dominate throughout. As the first half ended without incident, Chievo seemed to lose interest. After 59 minutes, Edinson Cavani scored a delightful diving header to give Partenopi the lead. Lavezzi struck on seventy-five minutes, taking the ball past the half hearted challenge of Morero to give Napoli an unassailable lead.
MoM - M. Blasi - Looked very accompished in the centre, not letting much get past him.

Cagliari 2-3 Napoli - Cavani(30, 37, 43)
010-reggina-napoli-lavezzi-esultanza_news.jpg

A first half demolition saw Napoli edge out Cagliari at the Sant'Elia. In the first 20 minutes, Cavani seemed to be having a bad day at the office, missing numerous very good chances. However, it appeared to be a prelude for what followed. Cavani broke the offside trap to pass the ball beyond Marchetti. Seven minutes later, he took it around the 'keeper, leaving an empty net to aim for. Just before the interval, Cavani completed a wonderful hat-trick, taking the ball from his own half, to strike from an incredible 30 yards. No sooner had Napoli struck their third, Matri had broken away, and finished with style. Nene struck late on to give Napoli an uneasy finish, but the visitors held on.
MoM - E. Lavezzi - Was the best player on the pitch. Could have had 5 or 6.

1301412.png
TIM Coppa Italia
Napoli 6-1 Siena - Lavezzi(26, 29, 61, 65), Mongongu(49), Hamsik(73)
hamsik-napoli.jpg

Another stunning Lavezzi performance saw Napoli destroy Siena in the Coppa Italia. lavezzi's first was easy, a stray backpass was snatched, and dispatched by the forward. Three minutes later, he found space in the box to double his tally. A deflection off Santacroce gave Siena a slim hope, which was soon extinguished. Three minutes later, Congolese defender Mongongu climbed above Rochat to head home his first Napoli goal. Lavezzi then latched onto a Hamsik through-ball to stroke past Coppola, completing his hat-trick. Lavezzi wasn't finished, and three minutes later, headed home from close range to score the fifth of the game. Hamsik's good contribution was rewarded, as he scored after 73 minutes.
MoM - E. Lavezzi - Four goals, plus an assist.

Napoli 2-0 Cesena - Lavezzi(15), Cavani(60)
1580049_w2.jpg

A soild performance against Cesena ensured Napoli ended a third month unbeaten. Lavezzi and Cavani linked well again, with each setting up a goal for the other. Cavani's clever play set up a tap in for Lavezzi, who couldn't miss from three yards. Into the second half, napoli showed quality, with several chances created. However, a lobbed through ball to Cavani saw the Uruguay international score his 18th league goal of the season.
MoM - E. Cavani - Nothing seems to stop this huge talent from scoring.

BIG MATCH PREVIEW

SSC NAPOLI v FC INTERNAZIONALE
Stadio San Paolo, Napoli

1wrUx.png
v
YFNk7.png

As the fans of Inter and Napoli gear up for the biggest match of the season, Gazzetta take a look at why this match is so special.

The match is being billed as the 'Title match'. Many believe that the winners of this match will go on to lift the Scudetto at the end of the season.

TEAM NEWS

Napoli's Andrea Dossena is back in training, but this match comes a little too early for him. On-loan Fabio, or loanee Dennis Aogo will deputize. Napoli have no other injury concerns, so a full strength line-up is expected.

Inter have four players out. Both Samuel Eto'o and Lucio are out through suspension, whilst Diego Milito and Maicon are out with injuries. Ivan Cordoba should be fit enough to partner Chivu in the centre of the defence.

"Cavani and Lavezzi are going nowhere soon, except to the top"

Whilst many fans predicted the possible rewards of the South Americans linking up, most did not think that the duo would decimate the Serie A like they have so far this season. Between them, they have notched an incredible 44 goals to date, and show no signs of relenting. A long list of admirers for both Cavani and Lavezzi have been told to look elsewhere by both Napoli manager Stuart Watson and Chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.

STUART WATSON
Edinson and Ezequiel have been nothing short of incredible this season. Both have given their all to the team, and constantly got better and better as the season progressed. Lavezzi is coming to the prime of his career, whereas Edinson is still young, and I think that he needs to stay at Napoli and progress where he is going to play almost every week, rather than sign for Man United, or Real Madrid where he will play 15 games, if he is lucky.
Best strikers on the planet? At the top, you have Wayne Rooney, David Villa, who are light years ahead of the competition. I do think that both players have the ability to reach those hieghts, but to do this, they need to get their heads down and prove it to me, the fans, and their peers.

MATCH PREDICTION - NAPOLI 1-1 INTERNAZIONALE

Another very good update. I don't like Trochowski but its your game! Good luck in the league, looks like Inter may be too strong though.

He has some very high stats that make him a **** of winger to have. At 750k, it is a win-win. He succeeds, I have a bargain. If he fails, I sell for quite a bit more than 750k;)

I totally agree, good deal. Personally, I don't like players with poor mental attributes. I suppose if hes gonna be an impact player it doesn't matter if hes abit irrational.
