anyone else ******** it for tomorrow? :(

Not really. Who in their right mind would find in favour of those 2 financially incompetent liars ? RBS have finally got their measure & will seriously put the boot in on them 2morrow. D & D haven't got a leg to stand on & will get what's coming to them at long last.

Just think - this time 2morrow, they will both be bankrupt ( hopefully ) ! What a beautifull sentiment.

Haha, Glass half full/Glass half empty!

I think you underestimate lawyers.

Good thing is, they lost their lawyers, because they didn't want this bad hearing on their rep. While we have one of the best in England. :D

Fingers crossed.

11 October 2010

RBS bank has just released the following statement in relation to the situation at Liverpool and the bank’s High Court action tomorrow against Tom Hicks “and others”. It reveals there is already an interim injunction in place against Hicks and Gillett.

.

RBS STATEMENT

RBS in its capacity as lender to the Kop group of companies received the benefit of various contractual undertakings from Mr. Hicks and Mr. Gillett in relation to the corporate governance arrangements that Mr. Hicks and Mr. Gillett agreed would apply to the Kop group of companies with effect from April 2010.

Those undertakings provided for the appointment of Mr Broughton as chairman of the board and the appointment of the chief executive and commercial director of LFC to the Kop boards.

As is well known, Mr. Hicks and Mr. Gillett purported to make changes to those corporate governance arrangements on 4 October. This was in breach of those contractual undertakings.
In light of that purported breach of contract RBS sought and obtained on Friday 8 October 2010 an interim injunction against Mr. Hicks and Mr. Gillett until a further hearing scheduled for tomorrow.

Among other things, that interim injunction prevents Mr. Hicks or Mr. Gillett taking any steps to remove or replace Mr. Broughton from his position as chairman of the board of the Kop companies or from taking any other steps to appoint or remove any directors from the board of the Kop companies.

The proceedings tomorrow represent the continuation of Friday’s proceedings and relates to breach of contract only. These proceedings do not represent steps by RBS to enforce its security or to appoint an administrator.

We are unable to provide any visibility on timing for resolution of these proceedings at this stage.

Ah yes I'd heard of that, now you mention it.

Everything crossed for tomorrow.

*****UPDATE*****

Following on from our earlier release regarding the Court Hearing tomorrow (Tuesday 12th October) we have been informed that the hearing will be opened and then adjourned in a matter of minutes. Therefore Spirit Of Shankly will not be travelling from Liverpool to the Courts in London tomorrow, but will be planning to attend the subsequent hearing. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will update members as soon as possible regarding any future date. Those who expressed an interest for tomorrow will be given first priority for any subsequent travel arrangements.

Those who still wish to be in attendance tomorrow, we ask you to again consider the feelings of those who will be attending the 7/7 Inquests also taking place tomorrow.

Yes there were two bidders one from Asia [Apparently this guy] and the american. He's upping his bid now I guess. And from what I have gathered H&G cant sack the board due to a minority, though I may be wrong.

Elaborate.
Please, anyone...
Nevermind

Livferpool fans have been told it won't be worth going to the court tomorrow as it will be adjourned almost as soon as it starts. The board or anybody important wont be there. Hicks may be there though. Fat ****

The first visit to court is tomorrow, but reliable sources have informed us that this is not the main event. Tomorrow will see the various legal representatives discuss timings and process; none of the club’s board will be in attendance.

Later in the week there will be an announcement of the main hearings; the day – or days – of reckoning for the tired old regime. That is when the board are expected to attend to oversee what they hope is the judgement that allows them to finally break the club’s ties with Hicks and Gillett.

The advice we’ve been given is that supporters making arrangements to turn up at court tomorrow would be better off waiting until later in the week for the main show.

Details will be announced as soon as they are known.

The club would of course never officially condone fans gathering en masse outside the High Court - but the time to show the strength of support there is for this club – not to mention the amount of opposition there is to Tom Hicks – is later in the week when the show gets underway for real.

Dang. Looks liike we'll be running it very close to D-Day.

Didn't Broughton say tha American was better for the club?

God knows what is going on in this whole situation right now.

Both have had bids accepted haven't they?

I read somewhere that NESV increased their bid by about £30ml to put themselves in the driving seat. The board may have also recognized the good job that NESV did in revitalising The Red Sox, whereas Lim has no such accomplishment on his CV.

What a bummer about the stay of execution for the 2 stooges.

based on what logic? At the end of the day he is also a business man. and its not like its exactly easy to buy United right now

Don't think he is a fan is he? Well they never said that on SSN all they said was he owns so Man utd themed bars in Asia, but I'm probably wrong

Surely he runs Man Utd themed bars because it's the most profitable club in Asia?
