Nothing to do with the quality. He's a good player no doubt, but 20 million is too much. He's 28, we'll get four years out of him, no resale value, and that would be OVER HALF of the Cesc money. Never played CL football, if he's as good as you all think why has he been at Everton and the blades all his career. Wenger has been at the club for 15 years and never spent more than 15 million on one player, I don't think Jagielka of all players is going to be the one who changes that. OH AND HE'S 28.

And there was me thinking Arsenal needed a centre half with maturity and experience, as opposed to another 12 year old....

"As he will be referred to from now on" --> What? Wtf has he been called prior to now? Francesc? Pretty sure everyone calls him Cesc anyway... Oh and apparently he wants Fabregas on his shirt so..

Good that Fabregas saga is over, no more Barca DNA bs from Xavi and co.. But have to say the manner in which transfer was done was ridiculous. Wonder why neither UEFA nor FIFA said anything about this. Ridiculous. Blatant tapping up.

Also Fabregas played huge part in accepting this cheap bid. Otherwise noway Arsenal would have accepted such a bullshit bid.

Finally, From twitter:

Cesc "Just got my new blackberry bold 9900. Its amazing!"

One guy responded "I guess you need something to entertain you when you sit on the barça bench"

I also got my new BlackBerry Bold 9900 today. :)

He's been at Everton because he loves the club, and the gaffer and the fans. He's also a very loyal player-a quality that is rare these days. He doesn't want to leave. He's being a very sensible lad. He wants to play CL football, but he's not forcing a move like some players do. He believes in the club, and Moyes, to get us back into Europe- either Europa, or at some point CL.

We've made into CL before, there's no reason why we can't do it again. He's also in the England squad for a reason and that's because David has the got the best out of him-he's now a top quality CB. And age has nothing to do with it either tbh. What age did Scholes retire? What age did Neville retire? And if I'm not mistaken, Giggs is still playing midfield is he not? Bottom line, if Wenger wants quality in his squad, he'll have to pay for it. Be it Phil, or Cahill or whoever. If he's not prepared to, then it'll backfire.

Barcelona confirms: 29 milion euros fixed. If FCB win 2 leagues and 1 champions they will pay 5 more. Plus 5 from Cesc wages. 5 year deal

Thank god for that, I was getting bored of this whole fabregash thing. Classic barca getting him for reduced price, good on you.

So, the initial cost of the Fabregas transfer is around £25 Million? with a possible £7 Million to head Arsenals way?

What a joke. Andy Carroll worth more than Cesc Fabregas.

I heard what the fans were singing about me on saturday and it is really disrespectful because i'm still a arsenal player

What was the chant?

For those asking, the song was: Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na...Nasri you're a ****! You're a ****! Nasri you're a ****! #AFC

Well played Arsenal fans.. That was a good one..

Arsenal got absolutely hosed on the Cesc deal. What I don't get is when C. Ronaldo publicly declared he wanted to leave (and Cesc didn't go that far) ManU simply said no. Then a year later they got 80 million for him! When something similar happens to Cesc Arsenal gets less than 30 for him! I don't know why Arsenal just didn't refuse. I know Arsene has a policy of not wanting to keep players against their will but good grief. My guess is that the locker-room isn't doing too well and they can't afford to have any players in it that don't want to be there (Nasri and Cesc). It's a huge blow and Arsenal won't be title challengers this season (had Nasri and Cesc stayed I really think they would have taken the title if they stayed healthy) but maybe they'll be ready next year if Wilshere, Ramsey, Frimpong, Chamberlain, etc. turn into really quality players. Arsenal simply needs another steely DM and then they can let their current crop of players mature into a world-beating team, which could happen as early as next season I think (if they stay healthy of course, which is a big if). When Arshavin goes (probably after this season) they will need a creative winger to replace him, someone like Mata but younger and cheaper. They could use a center-half too but they won't find a good one cheap enough unless they tap up a player, which they don't do. With Arsene at the helm and another DM I definitely think they'll finish 4th (ManU, Liverpool, and Arsenal will all get top 4, don't know what the other team will be).

Shows how desperate Cesc was to get this deal done. He didn't tell anything in public but surely he did behind the scenes. Did much more than Ronaldo hence they got such a low price. Ronaldo said his dream is to play for Madrid and left negotiation for us. We slapped 80M price tag, Madrid matched that and everything was done without any problem..

What a ***** - how dare he claim we're disrespecting him after the way he's treated the club this summer? He indicated he would sign a new contract in October, then along come Man City with a bundle of cash and he's on his way. He's strung us - and evidently Wenger - along this summer.

If he uses this as an excuse ("the fans pushed me out"), he can expect ZERO sympathy from anyone. Have fun on the City bench, Nasri.

Just think it's interesting what he said in the press conference, when he was alleging he wasn't allowed by Arsenal, to say anything at all to the press or the fans.

Apparently an initial fee of €34m has been agreed with a further €5m coming our way depending on success, and close to €5m coming from Cesc's pocket. €44 isn't a bad fee, unless I heard wrong. Joss, can you confirm?
