To clear up the incident regarding Fenerbahce being expelled from the UCL, I saw this posted on Twitter:

CL rules 2.10. 'A club which is not admitted to the competition is replaced by next best-placed club in same association'

Hope it helps a little.

UCL article 2.01: "No association may enter more than four clubs for the competition." This means that Liverpool cannot enter the UCL.

Get in.. Only 4 teams from a country..

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of Raul Albiol of Real Madrid #AFC

Reckon we might see a couple of players coming in over the next few days. Most player probably wanted to wait and see if we got to the CL before making the jump. Now we have CL football to offer players will (hopefully) be more willing to come to us.

Wenger was just interviewed post-match by Lille coach Rudi Garcia on Canal+. Presenter mentioned Eden Hazard, Wenger smiled... Garcia didnt!

Interesting....

M'villa/Hazard, a CB, and a ST and I would be happy. Perhaps a LB too.

we dont need a forward we have RvP, Theo, Chamakh Bendtner (if stays) and Afobe?

also here's Woj's superb pen save

The game was out of Udinese's reach for a while yet Arsene waits until the very end to use his last two subs! What was he thinking? Why wasn't Van Persie pulled out with a half an hour left? And Ramsey as well? Those two need to be well rested for the ManU match!!! They're going to be missing so many players for that game that they need every starter to be well rested if they want a chance at a point (and losing is really going to put them into a hole).

Other than that good match and Gervinho is one of my new favorite players! Thought he was fantastic tonight. Very poised and composed on the ball.

Arsenal round-up:

6 - Theo Walcott has now scored or assisted a goal in all six of his Champions League Qualifying appearances. Reliable.

22 - Robin Van Persie has now scored 22 goals in 26 appearances for Arsenal in 2011. Deadly.

This is the 14th season in a row Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League, only Man Utd & R Madrid are on a longer run. Strea

u meant in a 2-1 lead . cuz udinese could have scored bring the tie close to just 1 goal lead. well maybe arsene might give tmrs day off to rest them and the group satge draw is tmr too.

14 straight Champions League's on that budget? Please name me a manager (other than SAF, perhaps) who could do that. If not, than stop acting like Wenger isn't one of the top three best managers in the world and constantly criticizing him and calling for him to be sacked.

Well if not after the missed penalty, what about after Arsenal's second goal in the 60 somethingth minute? He could have given 20-30 minutes rest for Van Persie and Ramsey. A big, obvious mistake that simply makes no sense...

Disagree - the game was only out of their reach after Arsenal's second goal, which was on 70 minutes. Between 60 and 70 minutes Udinese were fully capable of conjuring another goal, and if they'd done that all the momentum would have been behind them. Once Arsenal scored the second goal they were strolling, and I don't think the extra 10 minutes jogging around will have done the players any harm.

And let's not forget, if Wenger had subbed his players early and Udinese had subsequently broken through, Arsenal would now be playing in the Europa League, which would have been a season-shattering, career-shattering catastrophe. A loss against Man U in Game 3 would just be part of a slow start to the season at this point.

Fabregas scored his first goal for Barca

The key for me was the Udinese players being scared of RVP. Did you see how deep the line was? They just backed off and dropped
