So did I, when Rooney stepped up i said this will be 3-0 :(

anyway, full credit to Szczesny, absolute talent. amazing GK and for me personally - Szczesny = de gea (to say THE LEAST, maybe at times better). totally deserves #1.

Szczesny lets in 8 goals and for us probley man of the match just tells you how bad we played but as i said before still only 3 points that we didn`t expect to get anyway this season so aslong as we add to the team im not panicking but that could change come midnight on wednesday if we have added nothing else.

Because it makes sense comparing a keeper who has a full season under his belt against one who has been there for 3 games...

Both are very talented keepers on their own merit, not sure why there is the need to compare the two

People have been doing it since the De Gea to Man Utd thread opened up.

Personally I'm just happy that we look to have a real good 'keeper on our hands, not really fussed about comparing him to Man Utd's.

And I lol'd at Rosicky, our walls at their FKs were absolutely pathetic, didn't even jump.

doesnt really matter does it?

and FYI Szczesny played only 20-25(tops) games last season, not a full season? and what difference does it make when you compare GK skills? Ive seen degea before when he used to play in Spain.. i dont say he is a bad goalie, im sayin that Szczesny is at least as good as de gea(if not more)..

Good handling , better reflexes, good at one on ones.. absolutely perfect talent..

it really doesnt matter how many games you did play in PL when it comes to ability and pure class.

He looks the real deal too, could have been much worse without him. Rosicky... WTF? International break is perfect for Arsenal.

I have become convinced there is boardroom clash, specifically between Usmanov and Kroenke, and its spilling dow and hamstringing Wenger, on top of all the other problems, only reason i can see for him being slack in the market, Wenger is a natural shark, yet his moves have been nothing like that. I also think he misses David Dein's input

And its actually a) very difficult and b) pointless to compare the two, especially so early in their careers. And its makes a big difference between knowing your defence and the quirks of the league and not...

if Arsenal could get a Good ball playing CB who has competent positioning and can win headers (rumours that Albiol is leaving Madrid for around 8m), M'Vila and a Soild left back(Enrique would have been perfect but obviously already gone to Liverpool) they would be again a great team IMO.

If they could get Hazard or a player of similar mould to help fill the void of Nasri and Fabregas (Wilshere and Ramsey need a bit of cover IMO) they would be title challengers again(maybe not this season but prob top 4).

This is provided they keep Wenger and spend as sensibly as possible

Probably Arsenal dont want to swap Chesney with De Gea and United fans dont want to swap either. Both are happy with the talent they have got. If anyone wants to compare at least wait for the full season before drawing any conclusion.

Still wondering why Wenger didn't go for Enrique. For 6 Million you can't get any better LBs.

Edit: Maybe he tried, still could/should have signed him.

point taken. but i actually compare their skills at the moment, their abilities. i dont compare how many clean sheets they got till this moment. its a different thing.

He might not want Jags tbf. That said, age can be overlooked for an extra dab of quality, and Jags is a better player than Alex.

Thing is Wenger is at the point now where he simply cannot afford to be picky-as mentioned before by other people, the next couple of days could potentially make or break the Gunners season

True, but we're not really talking about what Wenger wants - I reckon he'd take either of them in a shot - we're talking about what Pessh wants. Personally I agree, Alex is a solid defender who is experienced in the Premier League, what more could Wenger want.

What have you got over age?!?! XD Alex is a class defender better than what we have same with Jags

I think long term, don't want one year of CL football and then be straight back in the ******* like Spurs. Jags is overrated and overpriced, imagine Alex would be significantly cheaper and would like to see him join.

My problem is not with Jagielka/29 year olds, my problem is with Jagielka at £20 million. Said he wouldn't sign and here we are, three days to go and hes still at Everton.

Fact is that Arsenal in the last couple of years always buys some 'discards' from top clubs (Silvestre, Gallas and now possibly Alex). Only thing they want to spend money on are teenagers, which haven't got any/very little experience in premier league.

But for the time that is left and the players available at the market for a good price, I would sign Alex as he's much better than Djourou. After today only 2 days left to buy a decent left back, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder and striker. But I don't see it happen.
