***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

I finished my first season with Bayern Munich and had great success with your tactic(s). I used the "271 - ATTACK FM13" most of the time, even in away matches. After some trouble early on, I managed to win the treble, beating Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester United.

Playing with Arsenal & using your COUNTER V2, must say it`s a good tactic, had some crazy games, take a look at this one :

More of the same and i`ll go bald :'(

Yeah, its really enoying when this happends. My best tip is to - in time - sub one or two of the advanced players missin these chances and bring on a new player. This way you replace a player that is frustrated and loosing out in patience and bring on one that with the correct team talk might turn things around.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. :P
I would like to try your 4-5-1 (or 2-7-1) as you call it. But what downloadlink is the newest?

And one more thing. I'm playing West Ham. Will I be able to play with wingbacks?
I've never played with wingbacks before. In my head it might be to offensive....?

The one at the top of the opening post is tweaked a bit for FM13. There is very little difference betwen the ones linked to at the bottom of the post so it does not really matter. Once the game is out and patched, I will play some matches and make a new update.

I'm using this with Arsenal on fm2013 beta with decent success.

Would love some input on how to better my team selection. With Wilshere back i have put Cazorla on the bench which sucks as he's my favorite player in Arsenal.

Is there a way to put Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla on the pitch at the same time with this strategy?
Is the ox better suited for the left wing due to his playstyle?

Any input greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Just joined FM13 game recently and wanted to say thank you for this tactic :)!!

It's been a great attacking tactic for the mentality that Ajax is looking for and known for on their good day :)

I have to say though, i keep noticing that each game I play I manage to injure the opponents DR or DL (4 games straight).

Winger Babel and Stiker Sigporsson are just destroying the goal chart, with the constant supply from Eriksen and Siem de Jong in midfield.

In short,

Thanks!

About the injuries, are you sure you play Siem and not Nigel de Jong ;)

I had great success with this tactic with Cazorla as the AML. Only using Gervinho on a rotation. I actually started a new save where I sold Gervinho and brought in Gotze.

.......Ba.......
Cazorla......Ox
......Arteta....Wilshire....
Gibbs/Santos....M'Vila....Sagna/Jenksinson
Verm..Koschelny

That's my starting line up. Undefeated with one draw. (Although I started using Dan's tactic over this one. I may go back to this one as a backup)

thank you cincyeaglefan. I'll try put him on the left.

Which is this other tactic you speak of? I'm going to start another save too and would like to experiment. A link would be great.

The Better Half´s 352 with SW & Wingbacks - Set Of 4 Versions

The 352 with Sweeper & Wingbacks

- set of 4 versions by The Better Half

352swwbformation.png

Notice that this is just a beta, just like the game

THE VERSIONS
Personally, I use this set to suit my managerial preferences. In some saves, I focus on building a team that relies on quick breaks that uses players with good stats in Strength, Aerobic and Tactics. Here, I am more likely to use COUNTER and OVERLOAD. In some saves, i try to build a team that focus on on passing and possession, using players with good stats in Tactics, Ball Control and Attacking. Here, I will be more likely to use ATTACKING AND CAUTIOUS POSSESSION

OVERLOAD
Attacking, quick, direct with the aim to overload the opponents defence. We play with a really high line of defence and when getting into possession, the ball is quickly played onto our advanced.

ATTACKING POSSESSION
Here we play attacking with lots of width with the aim to drag the opponent out of position and make them loose their defensive shape. Possession ?. Well this is the aim anyway. Its not your ordinary possession tactic that produces lots of passes or 75 % possession though. In fact, none of the versions do. To be able to use the most of the pitch we not only use lots of width but also the length of the pitch, hence the slightly deeper d-line than your ordinary possession tactic The aim is to approach the opponent with the ball and drag them out of position by player movement with AND without the ball.

COUNTER
Quickish, direct and one the counter. Here, the aim is to exploit an already open space rather creating one.

CAUTIOUS POSSESSION
Here, the aim is to keep the ball by playing slow and compact, players evaluating every situation one more time before making an easy pass to a team mate. Here, its not about scoring many goal but to control events on the field that we otherwise would not be able to control. Never mind a poor shot on target ratio. It basically happens instead of us loosing the ball in dangerous positions

THE PLAYERS

Central Defenders-Nothing special

Wingbacks - The better the team you are, the more complete they have to be

DMC - Anchorman/ Defensive Mid

MCright - Creative passer

MCleft -Box to Box Ballwinner/ Central Mid - He needs to be strong

FCRight - Deepcoming FC / Complete FC

FCleft - Advanced FC/Poacher

PITCH SIZE
The better the team, the wider the pitch

MATCH PREP
The Better the team, the more adventures you can be. As for what 3 versions to put in the match prep, I suggest Attacking possession, Counter and Cautious Possession as the team will be pretty familiar with the overload anyway being a mixture of all the other team settings

SET PIECES
Not setup, yuou have to do it in a way that suits your team

Can you test this with an underdog side and can you try to keep the explanation simple? I have a full time job so only have an hour or so a day on Football Manager so I want some simple instructions instead of having to read like a manual (A) So just the obvious details such as team instructions, shouts, opposition instructions, match preperation, training etc. But in a smaller and simple guide please :)

If the download link does all of this then that would be perfect lol

This tactic is working great. Currently third in La Primera after Barca and Real, but they are only 1 point ahead and im in January. Used this the last 8 matches and won 7 and drawed 1. And that includes away win over Valencia 2-0 and Home win against At Madrid 3-2. Very nice tactic.

But its already explained as simple as it can be. Its à set Of 4 versions and you use them depending on how you see fit. There is no shouts as its not à TC tactic. Mind you, these are not plug & play tactics, you have to be reactive and change version

Its been tested with Charlton, Newcastle, Wigan and Brighton. All with good results.
