I've been trying these sets in a game with Bradford City after seeing how you was doing with Barnet.

It's been a mixed bag results-wise, some solid wins at home against title chasing teams which I was switching between the Overload and the Cautious tactics which is all good but away is the complete opposite, i've tried the counter and cautious in fact I would say all the bases have been covered and been on the end of some brutal results. I'm not exactly a 'tweaker' when it comes to FM tactics im all about plug and play. I have signed quite a few new players though so I will keep using it and see how things work out, time will tell.

Its simply because I have constructed and defined my own roles and strategies. In previous editions when using the TC, users looked blindly at the Set Strategy and the "Role" of the player and never actually read the opening post, all leading to that they misunderstood what player to play where and when to use what version.

Well, the Engine in this beta simply does not work. The pressing system is so flawed that one cant make anything of it really. ONce its sorted of, things will clear up regarding the logic of tactics
 
I have to say that the 4-5-1 is looking very good. I've just switched to using it in my Rangers game and use the Attack formation at home and Counter away and it works very well :)
 
I use your 271 tactic with Bayern Munchen, no transfer.

So far it's been 11 games played, 8 wins, 3 draws, 24 goals for and 6 again.

Best results: 3-0 vs Dortmund (home, supercup), 4-0 vs Shalke (Away), 3-1 vs Shaktar (Away).

I altern between Attack at home and Cautious attack or Counter for away games.

My MC are pretty good, so far: Kroos, 7 games, 3 goals, 5 assists, 7.54 and Schweinsteiger 6 games, 2 goals, 1 assist, 7.40

It's play good football and I didn't notice so much so the cross bug, only conced 1 goal after an opponent cross and scores maybe 2 or 3 goals after crossing. Most goals came after a good play in the midfield or after a run of the winger/striker.
 
I've been using this fomration with Rangers and it's going well for me so far.

Played 14 in the league Won 14, scored 41 conceded 3.

Only defeat has been to Livingston in the Challenge Cup. I've also beaten Celtic and Hearts (twice) in the other cups.

The front 3 of Mansare (AML), Shiels (AMR) (not his natural position) and Suazo (ST) is working well for me and they have scored over 30 goals for me between them.

I had to move the wing backs back and use full backs so it's now a 4-5-1, but haven't changed anything else.

I've bought (well got on free transfers) Eric Addo, Fode Mansare, David Suazo and I've loaned Prince Bauben (Watford), Dean Parrett (Spurs), Jordan Spence (West Ham) and Chris Herd (Aston Villa).

I've used the 4-5-1 with FB in Fm12 and i've tried to use something of my own, based on that.

Against all odds, i don't get any goals from crosses, but i face some issues, like:

The dmc (anchor role) and the 2 MCs (box-to-box) dont press and tackle the player, just watch him with the ball
I can't get the striker (complete forward) to grab and pass to the wingers, and i have him to hold ball and play through the flanks
Only having 8 % of crosses (aimed 2nd post)
No t-balls (expected but frustrating)

All of this with very short passing to all players. Should i change to mixed?

Assuming this is with the FM13 Beta ? If so, then I would not care about constructing tactics but instead wait for the full game. One COULD tweak and tweak the settings and by trial & error find some workarounds for the flaws in the match engine but those illogic aettings wont hold ground when the game is out so there is no real point.

Better then to use this time to explor the new/updated features.

I will probably re-create all the tactics using the TC ( using the same settings) but not until the game is out. Until then, you can alwway do it yourself. Will take about 20 minutes max
 
yes TBH, my old friend (A), also quite a interested how to use it with Arsenal??? And which positsions need strengthening straight away...
 
Sorry dont have exact results but i can assure you this has massively improved my team , im not turning from bottom to top and winning everygame but ive gone from relegation candidates to mid table / playoff chasers . Good tactic so far
