Carl, please. So many managers have coached Mata and Jose is the first one to make him do what he did the last game. Seriously, give him a break.
And Jose was the one to get the best out of Joe Cole along with various other players too.

49 - Juan Mata scored or assisted 49 goals in 64 appearances for Chelsea in 2012-13.
Let's see how Jose will beat that. Let's ******* see.
I doubt Juan under any manager will ever beat that. Fact is he wants us to press all over the pitch to win back possession quicker which includes Mata and Torres. Pat Nevin's analysis of Tuesday game showed that.
Yes, and some players are not made for certain tactics and systems.

Plus, I love Jose too, but when he's wrong about something you should just point it out. Blame him, praise him equally please. Don't be biased. We all love him, but he's destroying Mata.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
I'll agree to dis-agree, i say he is making him a more complete player as he did with several including Ronaldo.
I think you're jumping to conclusions because he put a single assist in today and ran about a bit.
Sometimes this Jose love-in gets a little sickening, he is capable of getting it wrong, however in this situation it had two outcomes.
1. He plays well, and Jose gets the credit for "making him a more complete player".
2. He plays badly, and Jose gets the credit for dropping him because he " clearly isn't a complete player".
It's just like an inversion of the whole Rafa thing, you complained about him overplaying players if he played the best players and lost; and then you complained when he rested key players and lost, as they had to be on the pitch.
Personally, as long as the form of the team is decent on the pitch then fans are pretty much okay with any team the manager puts out. Ours is but if we go on sustained runs of poor form like we did under ACB and Rafa (early part of his reign) then fingers will be raised surely
Exactly. He is getting a free ride because its Jose. People need to open their eyes on this.
He didnt make Ronaldo a complete player, United did.
And its not making him a complete player, if it detracts from the best part of his game.
Let's be honest, the only reason people are even semi ok with this is because its Jose, you wouldnt have accepted this from Rafa/AVB
Mata has always been a bit Ronaldinho in his defensive work and him improving that is only a good thing for the club and him self. I don't see how him tracking back and putting a foot in is going to deter from his fantastic ability. If anything it might mean less personal stats but a more solid team, which of course is what football is, a team game.
It might not be attractive to watch compared to last season but if it wins games, I'm on Mou's side.

Ronaldo was far more a greedier player when at Utd compared to Madrid in my opinion. And yes people believe in Jose because its Jose!!!!
