That's why I said: "He's exploiting his former position at Chelsea to sign highly-rated (or not so highly-rated apparently)"

look at the sentence i bolded in your post when i quoted you, thats the one I was hitting back at

Has someone been editing Lucas Piazon's Wikipedia page?

Wikipedia-Lucas Piazon

Check the top bit in the bio...

Someone's been naughty, funny but it does show why I tend not to trust Wikipedia too often XD

However Lucas Piazon is said to have been courted by Arsenal but turned them down due to their alleged allergy to Silverware.

Aahahahhahahah that made my day.

What's wrong with that? Chelsea don't rate them and/or prefer to buy world-class superstars.

The first part doesn't mean that they SHOULD rate them, but made a mistake. It just means that they weren't highly rated enough and weren't likely to get into the First Team any time soon - which is true.

The second part is just plain true.

its about principles. not about who he took, but the fact that he took some players. and lets imagine the players he took were good? i assume every player has a release clause in his contract, so if Arnesen hit that price and the player wants to go, we wont be able to do anything to stop him.

if he was a man of principle he would never do that. but he did, and will do it again.

They were youngsters and none had release clauses, Chelsea accepted Hamburgs offer for all 3 of them. Arnesens priority is Hamburg now not Chelsea.

Still waiting patiently for the 6th of July when AVB meets the squad, any idea if a video of the day will be released on the Chelsea website etc.

I think in the second half of this month is when we are going to speeden up our transfers although it does get depressing when you look at the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal signing players while we have been relatively quiet so far

No pressure on a 16 YO then. Did this one come from Chelsea or West Ham's Academy?

oh by the way JT was brought from West Ham's academy when he was 14 and we developed him right through to becoming the most successful captain in our history and the England Captain

Fabregas from El Mataro actually ;)

Gibbs, Wilshere, Ashley Cole.

Not sure why you've mentioned Arshavin and Nasri.. They never went near our Academy.

Also just interested because you said "the best CB to come out of our academy since Terry" when Terry didn't come through your academy.

Terry joined Chelsea when he was 14 and we developed him to becoming the most successful captain in our history and the England Captain which means that he more or less came through our academy as you rarely find players who join a team's academy when they are 8-10 and make it to their first-team

Quick google said Gibbs was signed when he was 15, same like Terry ;)

LOL. Says you who tried to troll Arsenal fans on your own thread... Clearly obsessed with us, our financial model and our players - Ashley Cole, now Theo Walcott, Petit.

And Wilshere joined us from the age of 8. Plenty of players join academies from that age.

Good spot. Didn't know that.

as I said, you rarely get players who join a club academy when they are 9-10 years old and make it all the way to the Club first-team...

not disputing that, still means he didnt go all the way through your academy, no shame in that. Still a developed a world class defender from a young age

Terry was 14 ;)

And not plenty of players join from that age and actually make it all the way through you know, look at any top clubs first team and count out how many players joined that clubs academy when they were 9-10 barring Barcelona's

If you can find more than 3-4 max you deserve a medal, even your team is mostly made up of players you bought for when they were 16/17 from abroad

yea I agree, even the likes of Beckham were brought to Man Utd's Youth Academy when a scout spotted his talent, I think its fair to say that when a player joins your academy when he is 14/15 on a schoolboy contract, he more or less came through your academy

and lastly our very own Josh M. joined our academy when he was 8 and if we give him enough chances, he has every chance of making it as a full England International in the next 2-3 years

i would like to point out that you actually tried so sell john terry when he was young. He only stayed because he didn't want to leave so don't you pretend Chelsea new how good he would turn out to be.
