Ugh, leave it out with the ******* speculation, for christ's sakes. I think Jose Mourinho is the best manager in the world. It doesn't mean I think he's immune to criticism. Check back in this thread towards the end of the last season: I criticised him then for not showing his usual tactical flexibility, for example.
Tiago isn't going to take game time off Romeu or Van Ginkel. The pivot will likely be Matic and one other; either Fabregas if Oscar is played, or if Fabregas is the 10, one of Van Ginkel or Ramires. For two spots in a squad challenging on all four fronts, Fabregas/Matic/Ramires/Van Ginkel/Romeu/Tiago is entirely fair, especially when you consider Fabregas and Ramires will most definitely not always play in the pivot. Tiago's going to be there as a veteran presence, which you can't have too much of, and a particularly useful squad player in mid-level games, behind Romeu. There's literally no downside for either party here.
