Lol, Jacko thats soooooooooo wrong.. Its other way around. Got it what you meant, but in 3 years you may sell McEachran saying,

At 18 XYZ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> McEachran

Yer i just woke up ish, McEachran is something special without a dout. No-one comes with first team football that well unless they have something about them.

---------- Post added at 11:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:51 AM ----------

he did a job on Bale, because Bale is largely one track, and he is an experienced defender, but his legs have gone, and he was turned ver by wingers who did more than just get their head down

But your looking past the point, at the time of playing Bale was the most talked about player in the world and Ferriera stopped him. He had one poor game last season and that was the Sunderland game where he was being played out of position and lets be frank i was there and no-one in a blue shirt had a good game.

Not really, Bale being the most talked about player is irrelevant, doesnt suddenly make him any better than he is

Then again,

Jody Morris was highly rated once upon a time...

Not sure if it is a CFC academy thing but what I will say, and I have said it before on Cork, is that he spent 2-2 and a half seasons out on loan at Burnley and he did stagnate to an extent there. If he was included in Chelsea's squads after the first loan spell and trained with the first team for last season he would no doubt be a better player than he is now due to Chelsea tutoring/monitoring his progress better. Huge mistake in my opinion, but I do think Cork is a future England international (Benchwarmer maybe) but the kid has supreme talent and can make up for the progress he lost the past 2 years. I am very surprised Norwich/QPR didn't go for him especially at that price, Norwich midfield of Cork/Lansbury/Hoolahan would be a decent combination imo...

Rumours that PVA/Bertrand are being sent on loan to QPR which wouldn't surprise me given how cheap their owners have been.

Also McEachran loan move to QPR to play in their first team in Taarabt goes...Not the worst idea in the world to be honest, not heard anything but that's my ideal scenario for the kid.

It wasn't at Burnley where his development stalled, it was before then. He was quality at Burnley, but unless he starts progressing quickly then he will only be a lower premier league player. It's our fault for loaning him out until he's 22 when really he needed to start playing for us or a premier league team at 19/20.

I know i got it wrong, other way round.

Haha good. Was worried then for a minute.

The fact was he made the best RB at the time Maicon look like an amatuer on a number of occasions. Like i say once/if his performances reach the level Neville was playing at last season (so poor i wouldnt have have had him in my Sunday league team) then i will say he isent good enough. The man is a squad player, he dosnt play many games and comparred to others is on a fairly smaller wage.

he is on hefty wage, isnt that good, and Maicon was one of the best Attacking fullbacks, but he was in poor defensive form leading up to it, his positioning was frequently terrible, hence being raped by Bale.

Ivanovic is not an attacking fullback, he doesnt frequently get the cross in from wide. He is an excellent centreback who can do a job there

I never said he was an attaking full-back but i remember on many occasions where be put crosses in. I cant see no negative against Brana playing RB and wouldnt be worried at all if he is our RB this season

So no credit to Bale here then?? Whether or not Maicon was on form or not Bale was tearing RB's appart week in week out. Like i say until he reaches Neville poor i'll be happy for him to stay a squad/back-up player.

Didn't kick on at Burnley at all last season or he would have went for more than 750k. :S

He played at the same ability level with Burnley last season as he did the season before in the Prem and the season before in the Champ with Coventry. He had a few injuries but it's more than game time that kids need to develop it's the right environment to develop at a training/coaching level and in my opinion he didn't get it at Burnley partly to injuries and partly to his environment. But he really didn't kick on last season whatsoever, and I  the lad think he will turn into a sensational player and Saints will sell him on at a profit 1/2 years down the line. When you look at the amount of game time he has had at the lower levels it should have been obvious when he was 20 that that technique was not working and he needed to stay around Chelsea for a season.

he averages one successful cross every 3 games, can do a job there, but you are not going to get consistent delivery, penetrating runs and width from him

Thats why we need a proper right winger, plus if we are going with Torres upfront crosses is not what we need.

You stand like he was to a player like Bale, you deserve to get burned. I credit Bale for the run after and the finishing, but ive seen paper bags put up a better initial defensive fight

Agree, Cork did not stand out for Burnley last season and his development stalled. I think Championship is his level at the moment, maybe in the future he will be PremierLeague quality but not at the moment.

Its funny that no-one said Maicon was out of form until Bale destroyed him on many occasions.

I did, had you seen how Inter were defending at the start of the season? Again what Bale did after was fantastic, but Maicon was positioned badly each and ever ytime, and you cant rely on pace to save you when the player is as quick as Bale.

Bale turned Maicon, yet was held by Phil Neville. Positioning is key

Did he also make not only Maicon but Zanetti look stupid in the 2nd game?? Phil Neville is a very good man marker and very under-rated in that sence.

P-Nev is, was, and always wll be the superior defender.

He did, I go on quite a few Burnley games and he was pretty much Burnley's best player. And my Dad watches every Burnley game and thinks he was Burnley's best player. He played 40 games in the Championship last year, which I would say is a decent amount and there's nothing wrong with the facilities or coaching at Burnley.

Although im not a Burnley fan i would say Chris Eagles was the stand out player for Burnely last season.

Disagree.

Wilshere needed that 6 month spell at Bolton, they are Premier League and have a good coaching setup (Coyle surprisingly) yet Burnley always seemed the wrong fit to develop a young player. He wasn't Burnley's best player get realistic otherwise you would have upped your 500k bid you put down in June...

Burnley for 2 years was where his career stalled the most, even before at Coventry he was slowing in his development. I think Arnesen should have sent him out on a 6 month loan to Burnley in 09/10 then in January assess his development and if it wasn't working then bring him back to Chelsea but after that loan at Burnley I believe he should have stayed at Chelsea and trained with the first team all season and got some opportunities. Remember this...In the past 5 years he has barely been at Chelsea long enough to tie his boots before been told to move to another part of the country on loan. Just can not be good for a player, loans are brilliant for young players but not as many as Jack had without really developing significantly over 2-3 years.

No, Cork or Rodriguez by a mile. Maybe even Mears and Fox infront of him too.

Yes, that's what I'm saying, it was our fault not Burnley's. But he was very good at Burnley, but he needed to be playing in the PL.
