United trying to hijack Stones to Chelsea in retaliation for Pedro. Woody just can't handle not having the biggest **** in the transfer market can he? In one week, he has made up stories of how he was never interested in Pedro, how he was actually after Neymar, Bale and Muller instead ever since he got embarrassed last week by Chelsea. Got to feel for him

Only real winners here are Everton who will probably get a absurd price for Stones either from us or United

Fault lies with the club though. This is what happens when you enter the market so late. All this business could easily have been wrapped up a month ago

If you believe everything media spouts then Woody is not the one who should be embarrassed.

Not a single reliable source reported about United in for Stones but yeah he should be embarrassed just because some nobodies on internet forum is making fun of him reading reports posted by hacks.

Rob Beasley who is very close to the Mourinho camp just reported it on twitter. He has been ahead of the general media curve on nearly everything regarding Chelsea. When the entire media was going wild early in the summer over how Chelsea were going to splash the cash in the market, he was the only one saying that Mourinho hasn't been backed at all and is growing increasingly frustrated. He was also the first to break the story about Mourinho's contract signing

Furthermore, it's not like any of the reputable news outlets like the Guardian are reliable when concerned with United. They just write whatever the club wants them to hear. Thus the top story in the Guardian last week was some **** about how Woody was actually in Barcelona to sign Neymar and not Pedro so the club could save face

Re Stones: 3 weeks ago United (when Everton initially enquired about Evans) asked to kept informed about Stones, without trying to muddy the waters.

Not really a late bid at all in that sense.

What kind of classless club hijacks deal for players who have already started talks with others? Shameful.

Brilliant (H)

Also the Neymar story came from his agents, not from United. It's a spanish story. They are playing the long game about his contract.

I never said United were classless though?? Just frustrated that we didn't wrap this up sooner

But in seriousness. Like Chelsea, United knew that Everton were not up for selling Stones. Didn't want to rock the boat (probably because that is who we would sell Evans to). But suspect the transfer request has changed the game now, which is no real surprise

As said earlier, the only real winners here are Everton who will get an absurd price for Stones either from us or United. This is what happens when you leave transfer business till the last week although in fairness, Stones always looked like a deal that will probably go all the way to deadline day

Last week to go, I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens. All the big English clubs still chasing deals

Yeah after missing on the reported target, just leaking news about the transfer that will never ever happen will save the face. That logic..

Why not? You know it will not happen but the majority of fan base will buy any story. **** one United fan even flew an airplane over Bernabeu to ask Ronaldo to come back because he thought United had a legit chance of getting him after all the media articles. Leaking stories to say you are after a bigger name is one of the easiest ways to reverse media attention. Hence, why suddenly links to Neymar, Bale and Muller have suddenly resurfaced in the media after United lost Pedro

Also tone down on the patronizing tone Christ

Just like you are buying all the stories about transfers then.

Just because some nobody who just love to troll United fans said about bid for Stones, you are blaming Woody. Just 1 example right infront of you.
