Pereira deal has been agreed (To my knowledge).

All that's left is the preliminaries, one to watch tonight/tomorrow.

Expect him to have a medical tomorrow at some stage. He pushed the deal through with Da Costa, final fee is around 24-25m euros.

Again anyone wondering why, the same reason why Chelsea was in for Coentrao earlier in the summer.

Nothing confirmed on Alvaro Pereira deal yet, but may happen just wait for an confirmation from either clubs.

I'll ignore that last statement.

If the deal has been agreed then I expect an announcement by Porto to the Portugese stock exchange tomorrow morning at the start of trade. Then it will be a case of dot the I's and cross the T's and get the medical done in London.

If Alvaro Pereira has gone on his international duty I suspect Chelsea to send someone over to wherever he is happened with Oriol Romeu

Kharkiv isn't that far away.

Their game is on September 2nd, plenty of time for him to either fly out or not.

They only actually need him to complete a medical examination you're right since his agent has agreed terms/pushed the deal between clubs from London.

Romeu was different given he was in a competitive tournament and Uruguay are in a friendly match.

I suppose but they usually fly out a few days before and I wanted to tell everyone I doubt the van der Wiel rumours are true they just go it off his twitter when he was flying into London, he's on his way to National Team now, Boswinga has had few good games so far anyway no need for another RB.

I take it ^ is a newcomer?

Arsene's sent in an enquiry for Yossi?

Yiche, times be desperate.

But not desperate enough to actually spend some money on a Montolivo, no Arsene would prefer to take Yossi for £4-5m. I can't believe it, truly bizarre.

I'm just saying that it was a very even game up until the late red card when you were able to dominate. The result could have gone either way and it is a game that you should be winning comfortably imo. Obviously they have made a decent start to their season and you have players missing/still bedding into the squad, but there was clearly an element of luck in the victory because I believe that Norwich should have taken something from the game.

It's an ominous sign for everyone else that Chelsea can play relativelypoorly and still win games though. Once the recent transfers have settled, and the players have formed an understanding of the way AVB wants to play, I think Chelsea will be a real force. It was quite naive to play such a high defensive line with Terry and Ivanovic at the back but when Luiz returns it will be easier to implement. I wasn't trying to get peoples backs up or anything, I know you will always defend your team but I was just trying to give you an outsider perspective.

No game in the PL is an easy game though, the first game of the 2005/2006 season when we were champions we played Wigan away and they were all over us for 90minues but Crespo popped up with a last minute winner. Any team can make it hard for us and nothing changed until Mata came on and started opening up their defence. Teams play 9behind the ball against us because they know its works and Mata was the sub we needed. Even before the red card we started getting in behind them more and creating opportunities. I know you have a view and its valid but winning without playing well is a fantastic trait especialy for a club who is going through a transitional period.

Agreed, anything can happen in the PL.

Yes, im a newcomer, Kalou looks on his way out, Anelka looks on his way out aswell

Looks like Chelsea are trying to negotiate a 4 year first option deal with Anderlecht for Jordan Lukaku.

Clearly with 2 days left it's not a priority but it looks like they're in talks.

I would welcome it, heard great things from Anderlecht's high bracket talent director (Glorified youth coach) and from Romelu about Jordan.

Arsenal are interested as well since he's an Arsenal fan but it appears only Chelsea are in preliminary talks over securing a first option deal. Would be another good bit of business done if that can get tied up.

Chelsea and is awaiting the imminent Uruguayan officia lbusiness. Dragons should fit value of around 30 million.

Alvaro Pereira's departure is about to receive the necessary official confirmation, with Chelsea ready to receive the Uruguayan international and deposit into the account of SAD FC Porto to abudget of approximately 30 million termination clause provided for in the contract between the player and dragons.

Londoners should therefore be able to meet requirements of blue and white, after seeing rejected offers below what is understood by sportsmen as a value clearly desirable to give up the lefty.

all we need is Modric and we're done :)

i see neither Modric nor anybody coming....
and BTW paying 30 mil for that player is absolute nonsense.

Callum is a bit new so he doesn't quite get the dynamic yet BH.

And that Pereira story is woefully translated, it makes it look like it's written by an 8 year old.

And the deal for Pereira isn't cut and dry, if Da Costa announces a deal has been agreed to the PSE tomorrow morning then it's on but if not there's still a bit of work to do.

And it will not be his 30m euros release clause. The limit Chelsea have is 24m euros, if they have bid that I imagine Da Costa would accept...

but WHY ?? seriously? do we ****** need him? ..no. what position will he play ?

Same reason Chelsea were in for Coentrao.

Plays LB/LM/LW, fills the Zhirkov role (The guy Chelsea sold).

Behind Cole there is currently no one except Ferreira, PVA/Bertrand heading out on loan, so just for cover alone it makes sense.

Also gives the option of playing him LW, Mata RW. Also can play LM in a 4-4-2 or diamond...

Just general versatility/quality/trust of AVB is the reason why Chelsea are signing him.

And let's face facts Cole is hardly a spring chicken, 2-3 years down the line what if Bertrand isn't ready or PVA isn't good enough?

Simple answer- He is needed, I think he's a good signing and I think his pace/energy will re energise the left hand side.

What do you mean by "dynamic" and yes it will be his release clause that's all Porto want otherwise they're not selling and sorry for translation... not my fault its what google gave me.

LB I would presume, but then again we don't really need a LB.. We're generally pretty good in the defence department, although looking at the last couple of games we could use a little concentration O_o

EDIT

Completely and utterly zoomed by Jamie ._. With a completely different answer.
*Paranoia kicks in, I know nothing about football all of a sudden*
