Chris, Mikel is a good passer but he does not do the job of bringing the ball out of defence very well, look at how Busquets plays with Barcelona and you see how he brings the ball out of defence himself and reduces pressure on his teammates to clear like a DM in a 4-3-3 should do, Mikel is an intelligent player but he is prone to mistakes, sometimes he does not get back and help his team out when he should

Ok, I see what you mean now, I thought you meant something else...Yeah, it's kind of like Mikel is too composed at times. Busquets does his job perfectly - very underrated part of the team, and he gets too much criticism despite being imo the best dm there is, but I think that's mostly down to his theatrics, which I have to say is a part of his game I do hate. But anyway, back to Chelsea, and Mikel - I know what you mean that sometimes he won't rush back if he loses possession, but I find that it usually happens when there are players back covering his position, so he doesn't need to as much, imo anyway.

Don't really understand why Luiz is getting stick off Sky pundits, and commentators for his pen - I don't think it was a bad penalty at all, it was a good save from the keeper.

Hope McEachran gets a chance, and if I was AVB I'd bring on Mata in the second half.

Why is Luiz taking a penalty?

Because he is the best penalty taker on the pitch? Well, either Luiz or Cole, then Anelka (who's last penalty was terrible), and then probably Malouda, or Torres - we don't really have the best of penalty takers on the pitch atm.

One thing I've realised - Tony Gale doesn't have a clue about football. Apparently Genk are a "championship team...at best" lol! He came out with rubbish every time he spoke too.

And according to some 'fans' we are in a crisis and AVB should be sacked...

Can not understand the panic stations that a lot of people are jumping to. AVB was the right man 4 games ago, nothing's changed. Before the season I said I would be happy, this season, with top 4... Nothing's changed. I'm not sure how fans expect to win the title with Anelka/Drogba/Malouda/Kalou still kicking around who, for the past year and a half, odd game aside have been dreadful. The rebuild project is still ongoing, despite what CJACKO said in a previous post we do lack attacking players and options. How you can say we don't when the second choice RW is now essentially Lukaku, or worse Kalou, then you hold a rather bizarre perspective. Still need a Pereira type down the left wing, utility LB/LW, still need some young players in defence (Vitor Gomes coming in in January would be a start) and when you consider the players on the pitch tonight you can understand why the result ended that way. People will say AVB should have started Mata, perhaps, but a rotation policy requires faith in all players... Are we going to start criticizing a manager for having faith in every player in his squad?

Tactically the movement off the ball was awful tonight there's no escaping that. There's an argument that says Malouda had a good game, but for me he still released far too late due to his naturally selfish style. Torres looked... Out of touch I agree, but saying as the Sky commentator did ''bring in the guys behind Torres/Drogba give them a chance''... Are you talking about the just-arrived Lukaku or the enigma that is Kalou?

I can't stand up for Torres off the back of this game, his midfield in spells provided driving runs to support him and break that flat back four but for the majority of the game it was Torres vs 4. Vanden Borre's displays were fantastic in both games, as an LMA Manager 05 fanatic I know that him+Kompany had the ability to go far and AVB's (The other one) career has been hindered by injuries and ill fated decisions by his agent.

No crisis. No need to change the system. No need to panic. No need to sack AVB. No need to think Chelsea will win the title.

Enjoy the football; Pray that individual errors are cut out; Wait for January and judge Chelsea February 1st.

Is it me, or am I starting to sound like an Arsenal fan 2 months ago?...

About to sign him for the first time on FM12 actually, 2nd season Middlesbrough save and I'm picking him up for around 900k which isn't bad considering his values a mere 325k at the start. Criminally under rated for whatever reason but 6 years ago at Anderlecht him and Kompany were both destined for the heights...

Perfect example of how mismanagement and injury compares against relatively injury free and good guidance (Kompany), still a terrific player. To be fair to Torres, radical idea I know, when he kept getting out-muscled by Vanden Borre and pushed around... It's not something to be ashamed at, Vanden Borre is a fairly big unit. Got to admire the 30 yard run he had where he ran through almost everyone and mishit a shot into the striker it was brilliant, Luiz eat your heart out.

On the back of this game... I rather have Vanden Borre and De Bruyne in my rather than Malouda and Anelka, what a bad performance again... players in our squad just dont understand the art of moving the ball quickly and breaking down defences... seriously how many times do we see Barcelona kicking the ball between their defenders hoping that by some magic some space opens up, Malouda and Anelka run out of ideas when they are on the ball, their indecision costs us greatly, I remember once when Malouda was completely free in the box.. he had all the time in the world to pick out his man but he delayed on the ball and as a result Genk's defence was able to clear the ball

And we cant keep relying on Mata, we need a new RW definitely and possibly a back-up LW... i dont trust Malouda and Anelka to prosper in this system and I dont even want to start on Kalou, Drogba whilst still a good striker needs to go as well, he is losing it and his form has been horrendous so far, Bosingwa again proves how much a liability in defence he is for us and its not like he is amazing on the attack either, Vitor Gomes needs to come in to shore up that area, Ashely Cole needs some competition at LB... get Alvaro Perreira in, he knows AVB's system well and he will show everyone how its done

Only areas on the pitch that dont need reinforcement is the Striker Position, CB position and possibly the midfield although a creative CM would not go amiss... I honestly feel AVB needs to put more faith in Oriol and make him our starting DM, another good performance from him tonight.. very calm with possesion and he finds players in the right spaces

If it was upto me I would sell of Malouda, Anelka and Kalou and get players like Gotze, Hazard and Reus in... I know I have said that for about the 100th time but i dont really care, those clowns cant play in AVB's system and having someone like Reus on our bench in favour of Malouda/Kalou gives me more hope

John Terry at the back there showing how many nightmares per night he has about Robin Van Persie.

who's the guy to Alex's left?
Branislav Ivanovic? Don't really know, to be honest.

I reckon Chelsea should sign a GK (young and backup), a CB (to partner/challenge Terry), a CM (to challenge the more 'experienced'/older players) and an AM (such as Gotze or Hazard). Areola, Vertonghen, a CM, Kevin De Bruyne and a 'big name' AM would be good signings in January at a total cost less than £50m and would basically get the team ready for the long term.

This isnt FM, it would cost considerably more than £50m
