Chelsea are looking to bring in another big name striker so Torres will have to perform to remain first choice, I am not sure whether he is the once great player he was for Liverpool anymore.

Where was this said?? Gourlay said they will back Torres and he will be our first choice striker next season.

At the bottom of this source, pretty obvious they have to replace Drogba with a good striker because if Torres does not perform it is too risky to rely on Sturridge and Lukaku, when you are challenging for European and Domestic success.

That doesn't mean we will sign a player because i have seen a quote saying Lukaku will not go on loan next season and we are putting our faith in him. People keep saying we need to replace Drogba but he only scored 5 league goals last season!!!! All we need is everyone to step up and perform better.
 
I doubt we will sign a direct replacement for Drogba. If Hulk does arrive he will be our starter on the right wing, and he can also play as striker if something happens to Torres. Will also leave Sturridge & Lukaku as cover for ST.

You can't go and give assurances to Torres then go and sign someone like Falcao/Cavani.

I agree but Hulk is still way better than Lucas Moura. Personally I am suspecting that Hazard is our main transfer target and if that does not work out then we will go for Hulk

That would leave us with 6 excellent attacking players in Marin/Mata/Ramires/Sturridge/Malouda/ Hazard? Hulk?

With De Bruyne going on loan to a PLM club because his skills are still raw and if he does well then Malouda will also probably be shifted out next summer
 
Lukaku and De Bruyne will be going on tour to US. Sad news is that Luiz may not make it because he wants to take part in the Olympics for Brazil
 
Chelsea still harbour some hope of attracting Pep Guardolia otherwise they would have probably appointed Di Matteo by now considering there are not many better candidates available. I suspect the manager will only be appointed one way or another in June.
 
Typical as soon as an English club beat Germans in a penalty shoot-out Sepp Blatter wants to find an alternative and scrap them!!!!!

I am fully convinced that Di Matteo won't be our manager next season.
