A really nice picture, two absolute legends of the club together

Thing is we and Arsenal dont need to spend outside our means as we can survive without sugar daddy. We can avoid spending and finish in top 4, now without spending same cannot be said about Chelsea. They need major investment, if not they have a big chance of falling behind other teams. Hence all the spending not because they know how to exploit the loop holes..

Im sorry but arnt Utd spending this summer and Arsenal should of spent years ago? Chelsea spent the money to build a club for the future not just for the now.

This is a Chelsea thread, so let's stay on topic. Does anyone think they can realistically get Neymar this summer?

Im pretty sure it was on topic nah??

Madrid was always in for Falcao. Maybe us and Madrid will get one of Falcao and Neymar each

Chelsea have a much older squad than both Arsenal and United. Yes, we have a few players that now need replacing because they have retired, but I think this was equated for as we haven't spent big over the last few seasons. Chelsea have some key players that will soon need replacing, so it could be argued that the money Chelsea have spent hasn't built 'a club for the future' as you need further investment in the squad. In a few years time, amid the ffp ruling, Chelsea could be in the position that United are in now, having to replace Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Essien etc. You can't honestly say that their replacements are already at the club, can you?

Edit - or were you just talking about the recent speding (ie Torres & Luiz)?

Dani Sturridge

Josh M.

Jeffrrey Bruma- Already a senior international

Lucas Piazon

Philipp Prosenik

PVA

Ryan Bertrand

David Luiz

Ramires

Kalou

Nathaniel Chalobah

We also just purchased a highly-rated youngster from Fiorentina according to reports

That to me is a quality youth set-up and I believe that all of them can progress to the play Premiereship Football at the very least some of them already do, it is not as good as Arsenal's or Man Utd but its getting better no doubt :)

I would prefer Neymar tbh, we dont need Falcao as we already have 2 quality strikers who can play through the middle in Drogba and Toress while Neymar can play on the left and if he is a success he can keep out the horribly inconsistent Malouda out of the team, its a gamble worth taking

Can see Drogba leaving though to be honest, maybe to Spurs in p/ex for Modric. You still wouldn't need Falcao, with Sturridge you don't really need Neymar either imo.

Sturridge does better on the right while Neymar thrives on the left... nest season our front line might well as look like this:

Neymar------Torres------Sturridge

We dont need Falcao at all tbh, unless AVB has plans of playing a 4-4-2 or something similar

maybe he has, but id rather have one more classy striker.. in case Torres gets injured or seomthing. You cant count on Sturridge, i mean yea he is good and all that, but... not that good ;]

Last Summer Chelsea spent 30million and Utd spend 25, not much difference until January of corse.
Season before (2009/2010) Utd spend 19million (plus however much Diouf cost) and Chelsea spent 23million
Season before that (2008/2009) Chelsea spent 24million and Utd spent 31million plus however much Tosic cost
Season before that (2007/2008) Chelsea spent 43million and Utd spent 49million plus however much Possebon and Manucho cost

My main point of this is that Utd do spend alot of money too its just it dosent get as recognised because Chelsea and City pay over the odds for player on a more frequent basis.

I think people way over look the situation at Chelsea. Lampard, Terry and Cole have 2-3 more years left in them without a dout and Drogba if he stays could have 2 years left easily. Our acadamy is the best it has been since the 60's and have reached atleast the semi final of the FA youth cup 3 times in the last 4years which is a massive difference to what we are used too. Although some of our players are not making the grade yet the biggest difference is they are more known.

Although i dont believe this it is somthing i can see happening. Especially if he gets back with that Geordie din as i heard they may want to start a family and the press will leave them alone in Spain comparred to over here.

If he wants to go for family reasons then im happy with that. Maybe just maybe its time for PVA to come in and do a job now??

Also.....
JACKO'S "SOURCES" BREAKING NEWS POSSIBLY???
Chelsea's friendly with Glasgow Rangers on the 6th August may have an agreement in it that Salomon Kalou will join Rangers on a season long loan?? Apparently they asked for Sturridge but it was turned down as he is seen as a important player next season so Chelsea offered Kalou and the terms will be done properly once he comes back off holiday.

And who are these sources Jacko, would be delighted if this happened, opens a place for a new player such as hush hush Hulk/Neymar

he aint ready yet brother. he aint experienced, and in games like united arsenal, experience is the most important thing.
AVB must keep Ash, he will be a vital part of our revolution.

The point we're making isn't how much you spend, it's how you spend it. United's revenue far eclipse's yours, so it's more affordable. Think of it as Dear old Roman buying a yacht, and then a factory worker pulling up aside him. The spend is the same, but the source of it is rather questionable.
