Apparently Genk have no defenders available for their game against Chelsea due to injuries. Anyone know how true this is?

Well i know they lost 3-1 to Lokeren at the weekend so it could be true.

I think Sarr might be available but he's yet to make appearance for Genk, so I think he's more a back-up player.

Hope Torres starts so he can remain sharp for the Arsenal Game, other than that I would like to see Luiz and Meirless back and Iva at RB, front 3 should be the same, maybe Anelka in for sturridge

Ramires will most certainly be sitting out the Genk game although reportedly he is set to be fit enough to play 90min for the QPR game and more importantly the Arsenal Game

Very relieved about this... Ramires has been our best Central Midfielder this season and his unique ability is that he not only has great pace but excellent stamina as well and that makes it very hard for teams to pick him up so as to speak as he bombs from one box to another... all of his critics have been silent now that he has turned in marvellous performances this season


As Jamie said, their is a reason he gets into the Brazilian National Team

Really good news for us, I rated Ramires alot last season when people were slagging him off but i did say he needed go get forward more. If you watch every counter attack we have our furthest player forward now is Ramires thats very encouraging. Makes sence to leave him out tomorrow just to make sure he is fully fit for the tests that lie ahead.

Well there is a debate here already because both me and my brother thought Cole was our 3rd best player on Saturday only behind Mata and Sturridge. Made Coleman look amatuer hence why he was subbed.

I'd have to disagree. Was at the game to and Cole looked a bit out of sorts to me. His touch was terrible and kept getting caught on the ball taking touches that he didn't need to. (Yes he set up the goal but the cross was miss hit)

IMO the best player on the pitch was Mikel. He was tidy in everything he did and didn't put a foot wrong.

I agree, I think Cole has looked fine personally but like I said 3 months ago I'm guessing the idea with Pereira is LW/Utility LB because the current cover behind Cole is not adequate in my opinion. If you consider how Mata likes to move into channels and get between lines, an out and out left winger to link up with Cole and give width and pace can only be a good thing.

Not sure where that would leave Mata, central in a 4-2-3-1 I would suspect.

Cole is still my best left back in the league choice, not much competition for 'best in the world' spot on the left at the minute. Possibly Marcelo/Abidal as his nearest challengers but Premiership wise his nearest competitor is probably Baines/Clichy. Not in his prime but he's still more than competent and defends well.

Your the only person to say that cross was a miss-hit and i think your being very harsh on Cole. If he was so poor then people would have known Coleman was playing and i totally forgot he was on the pitch until his name come up on the big screen when he was being replaced. Mikel was very impressive but Mata was the best player on the pitch easily.

For some reason, Coleman didn't look match fit to me. Don't know why. Hence the annonymous performance

Might have been something niggly-dunno. wasn't the usual performance come to expect. looked a bit lacklustre. Tbh though, Cole didn't look good at all at times either. Hasn't been usual self few seasons now. Not bias or anything-seen him a few times, and is definately on the decline. Imo anyway. happens to the best of them-some sooner than others

Disagree, Baines is the best LB in the country and Lahm is easily the best LB in Europe. But then again, you are a Chelsea fan hence the bias, so I'm not surprised.

Well you are a Chelsea fan so there's no way you'll obviously say he isn't the best (not criticizing you, I'd do the same for someone like van Persie). Cole maybe first choice but like ajt said, he is on the decline and isn't as good as he used to be, that's why I think Baines is better than him right now.
