I just saw Benfica's line up...
Javi Garcia and Emerson in the mid, i was hoping that Luisao could play, even if it was a small hope. I'll turn religious for one night and ask all the saints. XD
Who the **** gets 4 center backs injured in 2 weeks? -____-

The first half was completely ours, the criteria was ridiculous. Fun how it was so easy to sign a penalty today, while that blatant one of Terry wasn't called. Maxi's red card/second yellow was VERY questionable looking at other decisions, the referee is clearly not brave enough. Even so I'm proud of my team, Chelsea had zero chances and scored from a penalty, let's see what the second half gets us, we probably won't go through, but if we show this attitude I am proud, not always the better team goes through.

Clear penalty, incredibly clear sending off. You've played well but once again your possession and fancy tricks have come ith a lack of composure in the box. Again we've played defensively and butchered you on the break, your claim that we've had 0 chances is absurd Torres has had at least 3, and we've gotten in behind almost every time we've countered. Yes our football hasn't been as pretty as yours but that's called tactics mate: you have a lot more flair players so why try and play like you, much better to soak up pressure then outpace you when you over commit.

On a different note, got to commend the ref on booking for dissent, even if he is obviously card happy. Few officials have the guts these days to tell spoiled stars that they have to learn some respect.
 
spot on sending off. Only person to blame is Maxi, totally blew Benfica's chances.
 
Completely what Subtle said. I'm also pleased that the ref decided to book Maxi for dissent, and now that he's been sent off for a yellow that wouldn't normally have had any repercussions there's actually been some tangible punishment for arguing with the figure of authority on the pitch. Good stuff.
 
Not been a great tie tbh, neither side has really set it alight.
 
Whoever goes through tonight will need to step their game by about 6 levels, because both sides have been pretty woeful this tie.

There is nothing that I can point out to talk bad about Benfica, they were HUGE.

I'm rooting for you against Barcelona but if you play like this against Barcelona prepare to change at 5 and end at 10.

Benfica goal proof Cech is not the world class keeper he used to be... still a good keep but not world class, this is why you have to give Courtois a run in the team.

Pretty dire performance from Chelsea, scraped through against a 10 man Benfica side who had midfielders as defenders and subbed their key players as they thought tie was over.

Both sides were bad this tie. The poorest ive seen from either side in europe in a while. Expected much more from this tie tbh, but neither sides got anywhere near their best.
