Dude, TROPHIES. ROMAN. WANTS. TROPHIES. Roman is not impressed by identity and all that ****. He wants (major) silverware.

It's long been obvious what he cares about, baffled as who why he looks for the contrary when there is no evidence for it.

And you know, I think that's fair. I know many an Arsenal fan who would love to sacrifice a bit of their identity for a better shot at trophies.

You are failing to understand my point. I said right from the start that Roman will not sack managers so rashly now because he knows he can't really attract any top-level managers with this kind of antics. If Jose fails to win for another season in a row after splurging so much cash then do you think the decision to sack him will be rash? Obviously not

I think it's fair as well. Was mainly using it to point out the good things Jose has done this season despite failing to deliver a trophy. Something which AVB never managed and was therefore, justly sacked

We're not arguing whether or not Roman is right. We're just stating the obvious - trophies is the only thing Roman cares about.

Oh definitely, I was going off on a tangent.

I don't think trophies are the ONLY thing Roman cares about, but they're the biggest to the point where he's willing to sacrifice everything else for them. He'd love to play Barca football, but if that gets in the way of trophies he'd rather drop it and go to hoofball if it gave him a better chance.

Yeah I'm not saying he is wrong, but that is what he is mostly about. The only reason he wanted pep is because he combined identity with ruthless winning

Actually you started by trying to argue that Roman was suddenly about giving managers loads more time, and used AVB as an example. Which is wrong.

cant wait to see what lukaku could do in this team
Too bad we will probably sell him. If that happens, it will probably be the worst decision made in recent years. Lukaku has amazing potential, i think he should get his chance with the team, not on loan.

Selling Courtois would be worse. Even so, it would be very stupid to sell Lukaku at this stage.

1) Lukaku wants to be a first choice striker (not gonna happen)
2) We are buying a new 50m-rated striker in the summer
3) Lukaku leaves permanently (until we buy him back in a few years [Matic])

Basically same is going to happen to Courtois if we don't keep him and promote him this summer and I think Courtois case will hurt us more in the long term, because it's easier to buy a striker than finding an available, world class keeper.

Courtois is priority.

You wont sell TC. Lukaku on the hand, doesn't even get spoken to by Chelsea. I doubt he sees his future there. He wants to play as much as possible, which is what he needs right now.

Isn't ter Stegen available in the summer? (Granted Barca lose the appeal against the ban)
