Sweet. Again, I'm not envious at all. Honest .....

The only place in that part of the World I've been fortunate enough to visit thus far is Cambodia on a volunteering thing. Which is one of the most stunning places I've ever had the privilege of visiting. Fantastic culture. Great people. And great, ridiculously cheap food and drink.

Cambodia is fantastic. Although I would say most of the SEA countries are very very different from Singapore in terms of infrastrucure, development etc.

Based on what Mourinho has been saying, I doubt we will see any major investment this summer for whatever reason aside from possibly John Stones. Pathetic

Why are you listening to what Mourinho says as if it was in anyway likely? He's breathtakingly hypocritical about almost every subject and if you, like myself and many others, believe that the Jose you see and hear in public is an act, then you have to accept that his words are almost always calculated to serve an agenda. In this case it could just as well be a case of him trying to pressure the board into giving him more of the funds we have available as it is a criticism of other clubs for big spending. The point is that we don't know, and when it's Mourinho there's rarely any point in trying to guess.

Judge him by his eventual actions, not the swirls of bullshit and obfuscation that surround them.

Pressure the board? You really think Emelano and Roman would be pressured into buying Pogba based on some comments Mourinho makes to the media? Not to mention that all reports indicate Mourinho has an excellent relationship with the board which doesn't really make it probable that he has to utilize underhand tricks to get them on the same path as him (ala Madrid and Ramos).

This actually may be a case where we really won't spend money this summer for whatever reason. I will judge him by his actions just like any other person but I am not hopeful

Not sure why its "pathetic" we were miles in front of everyone last season we just needed to improve our strength in depth which we have.

We haven't at all. We have brought in like-for-like replacements in Falcao and Begovic for Drogba and Cech respectively. A lot of our problems from last season still remain. No truly world class RW to complement Hazard. No proper back-up for Fabregas and to a lesser extent Matic. No proper quality CB to partner Terry. No proper backs up at FB either

Also United and Arsenal have gone a long way in making up for those miles with their recent purchases. We really should have been in for Schneiderlin

Agree with you tbh mate. And to think if we get Pedro, Otamendi and the Galactico signing LVG wants, then those miles will be gone after those 3 plus we are now looking like keeping DDG.

Essentially this season as things stand, we are relying on Hazard, Terry, Fabregas and Matic to remain fit throughout. Any one of them goes down for a lengthy period and we are ******

Well we know for a fact we are in for Stones, Falcao is potentially a better fit right now than Drogba was last season so that could be an upgrade and Begovic will play as much as Cech didn't last season. As i said strength in depth, Loftus-Cheek showed at the back end of last season he could be called upon potentially, Bertrand Traore is back to stay, Victor Moses seems as if he is back to stay and all our top players mainly including Oscar had a full summer off for the first time in ages so should be mentally and physically fitter than ever.

Never settle and stand still in football. Particularly when you're on top.

But we haven't your questioning a manager who knows what it takes to hold on to the title, as i keep saying this summer was all about strength in depth. We had 11-12 players Jose trusted last season and that was it.

Also United and Arsenal have gone a long way in making up for those miles with their recent purchases. We really should have been in for Schneiderlin

And he was going to sign for us and sit on the bench was he??? Not going to play in front of Matic and Fabregas is he? Look at every player position to position and we still have the best squad without a doubt.

But players like Betrand Traore and Victor Moses hardly count. What we needed for those positions was a world-class attacking midfielder in the mould of Reus/Griezzman who can shoulder the attacking burden with Hazard. We had enough strength in depth

I like Loftus-Cheek but I doubt anyone is ready to trust him with an extended run in the first team if one of our midfielders goes down based on a couple of games at the back end of last season

Agreed that Falcao is better than Drogba. So we improved our third choice striker. Hardly a cause for celebration

Yes we will probably have to rely on players like Oscar stepping up massively if we want to retain the title. I think Scheiderlin would have come because he would have gotten to play many games as well

Reus and Griezzman both play wide left which is occupied by Hazard so unless Hazard isn't playing neither of the 2 would play in their favourite positions. Moses could very well step up and i think he actually gives us something a little different, he actually goes round the outside of his fullback! Oscar played the deep role in the 2nd half vs PSG and was outstanding so maybe its something the club have been working on

Seriously.

To be honest I'd take everything Mourinho's said regarding our transfer business with a pinch of salt at the moment. Back in 2013 Jose said this "We say no but we lie because until the last day we're all waiting for something to happen, even when we say we're happy with our squad we lie because we always want to make it happen.". What happened after he said this? Well... 12 days later we signed Willian for £30m.

You weren't though.

I mean, first half of season, sure, you looked untouchable. Second half, your dominative playstyle really fell apart. Plenty of games were on the edge and you drove to the title mostly thanks to sheer force of will and winnning mentality of the players. Sort of (old)United style.

Might not be enough this year.

Tbf the Willian purchase was a heat-of-the-moment transfer to spite Levy and Tottenham

No one just throws away 30M pounds to rile up other teams. He was good player and Chelsea made the decision in the last min to sign him.
