REMEMBER: ALL QUOTES ARE REAL AND HAVE BEEN MADE BY ONE MAN. HE IS... Brian Clough??? I thought it was the fonejacker..

To whom it may concern,
I have planned out my story. I have put up a poll to make this thread more democratic. You voted, I obliged, despite the greatest of efforts from both my Spanish tutor and revision sheets and those of you who voted for Bill Shankly or Alf Ramsey par example who came 2nd and 3rd respectively - I will now attempt, no scrap that - i will emulate one of the greatest managers ever (in England, at least) - His name is Brian Clough and died in September 2004 having fought stomach cancer - so i hope you can consider this to be my tribute to him. Clough was an English footballer and subsequently football manager, most notable for his success with Derby County and Nottingham Forest, and his 44 day reign at Leeds United. His achievement of winning back-to-back European Cups with Nottingham Forest is considered to be one of the greatest in football history.

I will attempt [Note to self - stop using that word!], I will make this story as interesting as my writing ability, time and slightly comedic nature allows me in the hope that you will follow and respect my efforts and hopefully success - BRING IT ON KINGERIC!

Stuw - that is a fine idea - i hadn't even thought about that - what a legend he is..still i think i'll stick to my choices and if people express a real disinterest in the lot i'll have a think ;) - would definitely follow one though if you felt like having a go? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Robson

chapman would be good and I dont think I have seen it done, but I went for Sir Alfred Ramsey. Couldn't help myself!

as a Liverpool fan i probably should have gone for Shankley.......but............Clough will always get my vote! The greatest manager england never had! Good luck mate

I can tell you, although probably shouldn't that Clough is in the lead with 45% of the vote.. 14 people voted for him.. 9 for Shankly - please remember that this will be a story which you guys will hopefully follow from time to time and not just a 'who was better?' thread..

id love to see a brain clough story be gerat to see some one picking a team lower beside doing a top 4 story

sorry guys - it may take a few days to get started... i didn't expect so much interest... my bad? The Poll officially closes in a week...at 12.47 AM, but scrap that i will decide by Wednesday or Thursday?? Good enough? I say "i decide" what i mean is "you decide"

---------- Post added at 01:12 AM ---------- Previous post was yesterday at 07:36 PM ----------

OK guys - will make up my mind by tomorrow (wednesday 12th) night - sound good? or should i wait??

do an emulating roy hodgeson story, 12 clubs from 6 nations and 3 national teams, including spells at clubs like neutchal xamax from switzerland and clubs like inter milan.

I voted for Bill Shankly.

However i would also vote a Brian Clough one, I tried to emulate one with Cloughy in FM without doing a story, I Also failed lol Either one would be great. Clough would probably be the best choice though as he is Most likely the best manager ever in some peoples opinions.

Whoever you choose, I will try follow as much as possible :D

Thanks mate appreciate it This is an interesting link about who the greatest manager of all time is...
Just commenting on your one too! without realising you had here :P

Sorry mate - I think thats a big ask for me lol - dunno if i would able to stick to that! I think i'll stick with my options - but appreciate the opinions and hope you follow anyway!

Everyone always has their own opinions, And it will always be an ongoing arguement. I mean me personally rate Sir Matt as the greatest with Brian Clough just behind him. There always will be someone out there who disagrees with me though as they are all truly outstanding managers.

And just about to read your comment thanks for it :D lol.

Thanks for following [so far] guys and voting! Keep it up - uh i say that but i think i'm going to start either tonight or tomorrow night - i feel bad because the votes keep coming in - 51 and counting and the poll doesn't officially close until Tuesday 18th... oops! But i feel i won't be able to keep attracting attention and keep people interested is if i just start! What do people think?

i think it's a good idea for you to start soon but i think you should wait untill there is a clear winner as there's only 3 votes between the first 2 at the time of posting.

Fair enough mate. Now only 2 points anyway... still i don't know when there will be a clear winner! Hmm how about i start either tonight after the Europa League Final or tomorrow night?
