did england not offer hjim the job because of his attitude, basically the way he went about things in his own way and care what anyone thought, chairmans other managers etc, stupidy because it worked he was up himself but he had a right to be as he knew and we all know hes one of the greatest managers ever to live. Good luck ;)

"I’m sure the England selectors thought if they took me on and gave me the job, I’d want to run the show. They were shrewd because that’s exactly what I would have done".

Thanks mate - update coming soon -ish need to do some more work :(

Sorry the first update has been so long - but here we go:
Ahead of his first competitive game in charge - Brian Clough, the former Middlesborough striker turned rookie manager took a moment to talk to the Daily Hartlepools, as part of the interview Clough said he was glad of the pre season opportunity to get to know his players and establish a solid set of tactics. Among the results were a 3-3 result at home to a weak Girondins Bordeaux team who were, however strong enough to make a second half 3 goal comeback (:( - gutted) as well as a battering of feeder club Billingham Synthonia and a narrow but high scoring loss to Leeds Utd 4-5. Clough also revealed his confidence ahead of the trip to Milton Keynes.
Brian Clough said:
"If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there."

Brian Clough on the influx of foreign players in England having been linked with Chievo man Claudio Morretti.

Brian Clough said:
It's been a difficult month for the lads - we did really well to beat Charlton and to win in such fantastic fashion makes me proud - but there are also a lot of negatives - i haven't had a lot of money from the chairman so my signings have been limited and i've had to use what i've got - the defence needs a lot of work for me - they get tired and lose concentration which is why we've conceded so many late goals and penalties - the refereeing has been a bit off too - it was never a penalty against us in the Norwich game - although we should have wrapped it up and would have too if it wasn't for the ref's mistakes...

Brian Clough talking to BBC Sport about what he told new loan singing Daniel Nardiello - The welsh striker has contributed to 7 goals in 5 appearances, scoring 4
Brian Clough said:
"Stand up straight, get your shoulders back and get your hair cut."

I read that you were using the Clough tactacs i made? Those were for 10.1 but were pretty poor tactics really,i was never really happy with them and shouldnt of released. They are no where near as good as the fm09 version. :(

Ive just downloaded them and tried to improve them a bit for you. Not sure if they will work but i know more about the wizard now so they should be better than the 10.1 version.

Oh fantastic thanks a lot mate (glad to see you on my page...) I'll try them now - looked for more updates but heard something about idiots complaining about lack of success and not what it looks like etc.!

ENGLAND UPDATE

View attachment 65855

England this week will continue their qualifying campaign as they host Slovenia at Wembley in a friendly before taking on Croatia. England currently top their qualifying group with maximum points after 7 games and having scored more than 25 goals. However Croatia will be keen to take revenge from their heavy defeat back in September 2008 at the hands of Capello's men and in particular, a marvellous hat trick from young Arsenal striker Theo Walcott.
First of all though - England will play a strong Sloveina side who will want nothing more than to get a win and take some momentum into their important World Cup Qualifier against Poland who go into the game one point behind their Eastern European rivals.

Brian Clough took some time to talk about his opinion on the new England manager, and the job he is doing, as well as what he thought about the England manager being Italian:
Brian Clough said:
"At last England have appointed a manager who speaks English better than the players."

Brian Clough on the controversial decision not to award Daniel Nardiello a penalty in the last minutes of the game - Hartlepool scored early through Brown and Stockport's goals were sandwiched between Brown and Nardiello's goals

Another difficult month for Hartlepool saw them get knocked out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in the first round by League 2 outfit Rotherham on penalties, with it going down to the Goalkeepers, Scott Flinders was unable to keep his team in the competition as he scuffed his shot straight down the middle for an easy save from his counterpart who had sent him the wrong way just moments before. September also saw Brian Clough's first management team score 7 goals but pick up just 7 points from 18. Still - there are positive signs coming from the team predicted to finish in or around the relegation zone as they are now vying for a spot in the playoffs if they continue to score and find a bit of luck.

BREAKING NEWS
Sky sports can now officially announce that legendary manager Brian Clough's son has been sacked by his father's old club following a less than average performance so far in the Championship - they now lie in 21st position and have named former Doncaster man Sean O' Driscoll as their new manager, despite several other managers having been linked with the job, including the legendary Brian Clough who it was thought was interested in taking on the challenge as he put himself into contention by maintaining a serious challenge to the playoff places despite the bookies being out on the club's ability to avoid the drop. Ultimately, after O'Driscoll issued a 'come and get me' plea to Derby with Brian Clough refusing to comment publicly on the matter the former was appointed [NB this is utter **** - i wanted the job but didn't see it :( My son has been sacked!!! :S]

October Hartlepool and England Update

ENGLAND

View attachment 66128

England 5 -0 Belarus
Steven Gerrard (3)
Frank Lampard
James Milner

A good win for England who have already qualifed, Ben Foster got injured in the 1st minute but still managed to get a 7.6 rating :S. So Green came on and did equally well, but Gerrard once again stole the show with a superb hatrick completed in less than 45 minutes, starting in the 34th minute and finishing off in the 77th minute. Milner has become a favourite of Capello's and we can see why as he scored for the second time in just 4 games.

After Posh Spice lost her luggage when flying back from Milan to England to watch the Belarus game, Brian Clough talked about her fashion style and his views on the importance of fourteen pairs of shoes, which was rumoured to be the reason for Victoria's despair:
Brian Clough said:
"Who the **** wants fourteen pairs of shoes when you go on holiday? I haven't had fourteen pairs in my life."
On the contents of Posh Spice's missing luggage.

HARTLEPOOL AND CLOUGH
In terms of Hartlepool, Nardiello finished his loan, but will re sign on a permanent basis in Janurary for a straight swap - with David Foley, until then we'll have to do with Adam Boyd and Andy Little up front, as well as new loanee Jay Emmanuel-Thomas starting on the left hand side.
[NB: Do you like the layout?? - would you rather me put screenshots up or type out results etc. and am i giving you enough detail etc.?? Feedback more than welcome - keep following, and i'll probably update again tonight, after November!

no problem ;) somedecent results so far, you could push for playoffs. good luck

hope you can check out my story btw

thanks mate, yeah will do. Hopefully i can squeeze into the playoffs!! Looks like it's going to be difficult to get one of my next appointments though:

Billy Davies is untouchable at the moment, Fabio and Gus Poyet are very secure in England and Brighton although Sean O' Driscoll doesn't command an absolute majority of confidence in the board room, his job security is stable.
