The Great San Marino Challenge

First off merry xmas to everyone, hope you're all having a good one.

Update on my save: C1/B second season, problems starting to arrive, more off the pitch than on it.

Currently third in the league after 12 games, 4 points off the pace so confident that gap will be closed after a few more games. Once again confident about automatic promotion.

My concerns and where I would like some advice: Finances. I have been a good boy and stayed well below my budget limits for the last season and a half, and yet we still posted a 1million euro loss last year and the board have given me cash injections on a few occasions now.

Now this problem is clearly coming from wages and I have identified the main culprits: Cardacio on 4.8k a week, Brellier 3.8k a week, Scorza 3.7k a week, all of which earn roughly 2k a week more than anyone else in my team. My automatic instinct would be to sell them. Two stumbling blocks for me here, Cardacio, who realistically would be valued at 1.5 million if I was in a highly league, is only being offered offers of around 65k off clubs, and the other two are for even less.

Couple this in with my second problem: Squad Depth. Confident that in the current league, I have far and away the best first 11 in the league, although as soon as I get one or two injuries, the difference suddenly shows.

So advice needed, I can't really sell much for a profit, I can't release my youth players either as even a 14k compensation package is costly for the club, therefore I still have a lot of small wage eaters who aren't fit for the club either!

Should I even be panicing? At present I am on the way to promotion anyway but concerned the debt will hinder me at some point (though like I said, I am sticking to within my budgets - are my accounts just ****?)
 
Dont panic. Until you get into Serie A your finances. I am in C1/A and have been in playoff final twice with no success. Scorza has lost his touch in the last season even though he'd be a leading star for a Serie B team.

After starting the season so well, I maintained a decent form and finished my first season in Serie A in 5th. Incredible, especially considering I was enduring a EURO Cup campaign simultaneously.

I managed to win the Quarter Final against OM on away goals, however, I was unfortunate to lose against Arsenal similarly on away goals in the Semi.

Transfers
Unfortunately, I lost my key striker (Hervin Ongenda) to a chairman decision of 6.25mil pounds. I was gutted, but the finances should help us out in the long run I suppose.

Speaking of helping my finances, they are going along extremely well. The T.V. sponsorship/ rights deal has been adjusted accordingly for the upcoming season as well.

San Marino (Nation Team)
Unfortunately, the national team, unlike the club, has been performing horribly and it doesn't appear to be changing any time soon. My key star Guido Mengucci has continued to develop, but he cannot hold an entire team up, especially when the team is considerably poor. On a positive note, my youth facilities shall finish upgrading in a few months which will hopefully help the NT with better regens. I'm yet to get any good ones. Fingers crossed.
 
Right well up back to back promotions and up to Serie B, was expecting to struggle when I looked around the standard of the league and there is truly a big leap in quality between C1/A and Serie B.

Last season wasn't easy, got in through the back door - 3rd place then promotion in the playoffs. Definitely no chance of another promotion this time round, my board gave me a budget of something like 40k wage budget and 0 transfer money!

So far I'm 15th after 6 games and for now mid-table is my only objective. Still making losses at a montly rate, will have a look through the comments and see how anyone else managed it but the three back to bakc promotions for now at least, seems beyond me.

That f*cker Cardacio left on a free transfer in the end after not renewing his contract so I have lost what was virtually and irreplacable playmaker and cannot get any players anywhere near his standard to join me.

One bright piece of news - did a bit of coach shopping and the majority of my training facilities are now 4 stars.

Have you tried adding a new manager as NT manager and retiring? That has worked for a couple of people (me included)

this is my first post here. i start my San Marino Chalange 2 weeks ago, and this is what happend so far.
i my first season i won a promotion to C1A. It was easy. I bought Gurlaiz and some others free Agents.
Began second season with idea to avoid relegiation but surprisely finished on 6th spoth, unfortunatly not in play off position.Now i start my 3rd season , hope i will take promotion to Serie B . I have one exellent regen but cant give you pic right now becouse im not at home. i started with Bulgaria as additional nation and have 2 good signings from there. For those that cant buy good players, my advice is to take players on loan. Cesena is parrent club so u can take good players without paying sallaries or money. 2 good players are Riski - ST and Marco djuric - MID.
 
Just started this challenge, got some great free agents but got a problem.

I can't get the NT job they wont accept my application. What can I do to get the job?

Also what tactics did everyone use?
 
loving this challenge, i dont know how to screenshot fm12 so ill write the stats,

First Season I won promotion and came 1st beating Alessandria by 13 points, enzo scorza was the reason i got promotion!
also signed Luca Franchini a LB and cleareda lot of deadwood, one signing that i recommend is romain soler, anthony abou deraa and andrea cuneaz, all helped me in my 1st season and helping me in c1. ended up 25 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses.

Im currently in C1A and im top of the table after 4 games and beating teams 5-0 with my own tactic i made.
My wage budget changed for season 2 so i had to clear a lot of players and brought in 5 loan signings to help me out, hopefully i can acheive back to back promotions. Ill update once i finish
 
i have acheived back to back promotions, ended up winning the c1a with 79 points so im in serie B now

My two best regens

With Man City looking at campo i thought i'd show you their improvement
Campo has become an amazing winger, key stats for a winger are crossing, dribbling, technique, pace, balace, agilty and acceleration and he has great stats in them all

Zingale is a great poacher and has kept the legend scorza out of the team for the past season coming up on 40 goals for the club in his time here, and has plenty of games for the Italy U21's..... if only he was San Marinesse

Im currently in Serie A after 3 straight promotions winning C1 and 2, and coming 2nd in Serie B.

In my first season in Serie A i still played with the 3 pronged attack of Scroza, Gulraiz and Sodinha :P
Gulraiz had a great season and earned a move to 7th placed atalanta. The other 2 didnt do too badly, but nothing special
 
for the TV money bug, what do i need to change in the editor before i start? I want to use the Editor 2012 program, not FMRTE

You can't do it like that.
The issue is that you need the TV money to really kick in when you hit Serie A, not to be there the whole time.
