The journey of a lifetime: Part 1

I have also decided to take charge of the UAE Under 23's team. The increasing influence on the UAE national team to have my own stamp on this setup has possibly swayed my decision to take over a different club. Let's see what happens next.

But then a twist in the tale has occurred. Besiktas have offered me a chance to become their manager. And they are playing in the Europa Conference League. So it is too good to turn down. There is also another twist. I will continue on as the UAE manager. And I will manage their Under 23's team too. So the idea behind this move is that I will get to manage one of the giants in Turkish football. I will be able to develop the UAE national team so that the players will get a chance to move to Europe as hopefully the world rankings get higher and I will use Besiktas as a platform for bringing good UAE based talent into the club and showcasing their talent on the European stage. Even though Turkey is half Asian-half European.

Oh, what have I walked into? This transfer window is crucial. If this doesn't go well, I will probably leave.

I have offered new contracts to a few players at Besiktas, the ones which are affordable at least. That is the first thing I did.

Muhayer Oktay, the 23 year old Turkish attacking midlfielder is injured and will be out for 3-4 weeks.

Also, Dorukhan Tokoz, the 26 year old midfielder is injured. He will be out for 8-11 days.

Emirhan Delibas, the 19 year old midfielder has signed a new four year contract with Besiktas.

Gokdeniz Kursunoglu, 20 year old goalkeeper has signed a new 3 year deal. Ahmet Gulay, 19 year old left back has signed a new 4 year deal and Emre Bilgin, 18 year old goalkeeper has signed a new 4 year deal with Besiktas.

I have made two sales so far to ease the financial troubles at Besiktas. Tyler Boyd, the 27 year old American winger has left the club for 600k pounds to Russian club Krylja Sovetov. And Welinton, the 33 year old Brazilian centre back has left the club to join Jablonec in Czech Republic for 155k pounds.

Georges Kevin N'Koudou has joined Al-Gharafa in Qatar for 4.2 million pounds. Some money in the transfer kitty now.

My first signing as Besiktas manager, George Johnston, who was my former Wigan player. I have signed him from Feyenoord for 1.1 million pounds, Feyenoord was Johnston's parent club when he was on loan at Wigan.

Thank you, I will see what I can do. I have put in a lot of effort to create content for the readers. Even I hope this save gets more interesting as time passes.
 
My second signing as Besiktas manager. Hjalti Sigurdsson, a 21 year old Icelandic right back from KR for 86k pounds. He was performing well in the Europa Conference League so I snapped him up.
