I wonder if we will be getting another RB with Clyne going as we only have TAA? If he picks up an injury or suspension, we only really have Gomez who can cover there. Would much rather keep him at CB.

......

I think the tribunal fee pushed this current fee up as there has not been correct info how much Pool payed for him and no way it is near the 3m they wanted to pay.

Also Clyne on loan might be affecting this prize also. What is strange thing to do by Klopp. He now has no decent cover r LB and RB. Gomez should be played as CB not RB, then you have Fabinho and worst case Milner(LB also). And for left Moreno...

I’d venture it was around £ 4/5 million. Ings was £6 million and it wouodn’t have been that.

Think you answered tour own question there. Joe, Fabinho cover trent the right. Along with Rafa Camacho who you’d thibk now won’t leave on loan. Moreno the left with Milner reliable depth for either slot.

Full back is the very last of any concerns foe the next 6 months. Clyne just ended up surpluss to requirements and needed to play for his own career.

As Clyne's biggest fan :P I don't really understand sending him out on loan as limited as he is we could have used him as cover for the FA Cup.

I’d imagine he wanted to play. And given hes as consistent as he is, that should lead to a £20 plus million sale the summer.

But I mainly quoted as (not you here) all the absolute bellends that want the Cup jibbing cam do one.

I’ll give you 96 reasons why the FA Cup should ALWAYS be majorly important to L’pool fans!

I think Hoever’s ridiculous progress since his arrival from Ajax has thrown a conplete curveball into any defensive addition plans. At his rapid rate of progress you don’t want too many blocking his path in a year or two.

Nah. Not in the slightest.F

It’s about progress. And a record points total is another ridiculous leap forward to continue his season-on-season inprovement his whole time here. We win it? Sound. We finish sexond to City? Disappointing but equally sound.

Isn't that the whole point though? You'll never start a season as well as this again, it's a one off even if you have more good seasons. So with that assumption if City still nick the title then Klopp will never have a better opportunity than this. Next season it will be more of a level playing field again because City (spending more) Chelsea, United and maybe Arsenal will come back into it. That's not me saying that 'make or break' in the sense that Klopp would be sacked if you don't win the PL. But in the sense that he'll never have a chance like this again. Lets be honest City were unbelievable last season but it was a one off getting a season as good as that in terms of points and they couldn't keep up that ridiculously high standard.

It will be the same for Liverpool, this season in terms of points and matches won at this stage won't be repeated again for a long time. So if you don't make it count then it will be nigh impossible to have a chance like this again for a long time.

Disagree we will have chances we have closed the gap considerably this season and have gone from title challengers to one of the favorites alongside City. Have you seen our squad it's probably one of the best if not the best in Europe give or take. Every season we have improved from top 4 challengers to top 4 regulars and now title fav/challengers. I don't think one or two seasons will let United, Chelsea or Arsenal touch us. Im not joking when I say LFC and City have blown past the rest of the top 6 the only real challengers to the top 2 are Spurs and they could fall apart if Levy doesnt invest. TLDR: The system in place from sporting director to Klopp to the scouting and the youth system has been superb and has set us up nicely for the future.

Agreeing with dilakh

No point in making any grand assumptions about league next year, we have seen Leicester win it so anything can happen. Every year it is different, and this chance you are talking about, there are 3 teams that are absolutely having amazing start.

If next season’s anything different than City and L’pool battling it out for the title like this one z I’ll be majorly surprised personally. Regardless of any windows/ manager changes.

Chelsea should be better year 2 of Sari but thats a big gap to bridge. Tottenham are Tottenham. Always have been. Always will be. And anyone else is just trying to restablish themselves in the top 4. I caught your post the PL thread bud and you’re setting yourself up for disappointment mate if you aren’t prepared to do this in stages. This is fixing to be two straight years of 19/20 plus points away from the title. That goes way beyond Mourinho.

You’re a LONG way off City and Liverpool right now in every aspect.

Exactly United have proved that you can't just throw money at your problems and expect to resolve it. It takes time as proven with us ffs have you seen the squad Klopp had when he first started and the one he has now. It took work and a system in place to make sure recruitment was right as we can't just spend money Like City and United and expect to then try again. Before you say we spend money I'm not saying we don't I'm just saying City and United have more leeway for error with the big amounts of money they have. For me the biggest worry will be Chelsea and Spurs (if they dont lose their star players this summer). Arsenal will never challenge with Kroenke in charge and United's footballing side of management is woeful, to say the least.

It's not the gap you think it is mate, the only thing that is really filling it is Van Dijk. Don't forget that you finished 23 points away from title last season, even further than United. Yeh don't get me wrong United need to fix one or two things, but Mourinho was the biggest and getting a DoF which is supposedly happening in time for summer.

Hahah, came earlier than expected :D

Just read your own post few rows upper about progress your team is making and it wont be madness if there will be no silverware as it is a project(but you still want it), trust club and etc.
Same talk is from Spurs fans and everyone gives them hate about it: that all progress talk is bullshit without silverware.

z. If you honestly think the only difference is van Dijk (not even our most important player for me. As ridiculously good as he’s been), then you honestly haven’t been paying much attention to anything going on under Klopp.

I respect your opinion mate but one or two things is an understatement your first team squad is pretty good on paper that is but your defense is non existant your midfield relies on Pogba turning up and upfront Lukaku ( love him as a guy) can't trap a ball to save his life. Like I said I don't doubt you will throw money once again to fix the problems but it hasnt worked for like the past couple of windows and wont work with Woodward not having a clue about the footballing side. Spurs are ****** ahead of you and who would have ever thought that in post fergie times, yous lot have been mismanaged to **** and back since he left.

Short history leason for you.

Tottenham haven’t been a serious title challenger since the last time they won it in 1961. They finished third in a one horse race to Leicester ****** City for crying out loud! NOBODY outside of the written press, trying to sell papers, realistically considers this a three horse race.

Tottenham are a Cup side that continually flatter to decieve the league and F uo in the least expected places.

Thats nothing personal on Tottenham. Its just who they are. We could be sat 6 points behind ‘Spurs right now and theres still only one team your loooing to finish above to win it. City.

And miss the CL this year and you’re shopping on a floor down.

The longer you get away from the major honours, the less attractive your name gets to todays players. We know that oniy too well.

United can close the gap very quickly tbh, and Chelsea are not far away. It's arsenal and Spurs that are at their glass ceilings.

People said United would be shopping way down. Then they got Pogba. Doesn't really change a thing. Because one season out doesn't hurt you, 3 or 4 does. Arsenal have picked up aubameyang and lacazette

Maybe thats the case with us as we just dont have the revenue Utd or City have or the wages the pay. It just means that they will have to throw more money and more wages but the lure of playing for Utd will always be there. The truth is they can still turn it around by hiring a DOF just get Woodward away from the footballing side that way when the managers come and go you dont have to restart the footballing side of the team and go through transition after transition. God I hate that word it just reminds me of the Woy and Snake oil salesman Rodgers days.
