28th time the leads changed hands. Really is the best title flight in English top flight history this. As will the coming seasons doubtless be. Nobody remotely close to the top 2.

Onto Burnley.

Sometimes Scouse can be a bit superlative but seriously this Utd squad is just light years away from us and City. It will take 3 or 4 transfer windows to sort out the mess.

They’re fixing to go another mammoth period like those previous 26 years mate but many are still in denial. The more each year rolls and the further you get away from even challenging, the harder it gets as we well know. Money and the name becomes less and less attractive.

IMHO, the emotive appointment of Solksjaer has set them back another few years. All this does, if they miss the top 4, is set the rebuild back further in terms of the real top echelon players.

The parallels between Utd now and L’pool the start of the PL era are scarily uncanny. They’re making the same, repeated mistakes we used to continually make. Whole clubs in a serious mess.

Utd are F. Arsenal are F. Chelsea are F with the window ban. And Tottenham, who are the clear third best team the Country, are handcuffed with the ground like Arsenal have been.

This is the City/ L’pool era and no mistake.

could you give us the lotto number for friday while your at it meg ta
All jokes aside hes got a point yous lot are so shocking and the similarities between us and yous 10 years ago is there to see. Only saving grace is that you can throw money and wages at the problem until it sticks.

Except we haven't got the money to compete with the likes of you and City. Improvements made every year and the trophies will come. Perhaps we should have spent the money on the Brazilian Joe Allen...

Just thinking of the game at City. Sadio hits the post, it bounces out, and there's a miraculous clearance off the line from Stones. Sane hits the post and it rebounds in. Such fine, fine margins at the very top level. There's an invincible season right there. And to think even that may not have been enough ..... Madness the standard we're both setting.

As much as I'm really coming to detest City fans and their ridiculous obsession with ourselves (WAY more than I do Utd. City are FAR worse than Chelsea ever were), neither side deserves to lose this absolutely phenomenal battle.

Still wouldn't put money on calling it but it'll be a real shame for one of these two to have to finish second after this ridiculous season.

Have you been living under a rock. Utd is one of the richest clubs in world football you and City are comfortably ahead of the rest of the league. Or have you forgotten the amounts spent by both LVG and especially Mourinho. In before you say we spent this summer after forgetting we sold Coutinho for a near world record fee and Edwards managed to fleece Bournemouth and co. for our fringe players.

If you're gonna' talk _____ mate, at least get your facts right.

We've only spent major money the past two windows. Mainly on two players. Utd, City and Chelsea still dwarf our net spend.

And we've had a lot to show for it. Aside from three major cup finals and some insane memories along the way, we've had all you can ask for as he's built this from the ground up the right way. Season-on-season progress to now this one with a (currently) phenomenal 24 point swing on City. Alongside back-to-back CL semi final appearances. (At least.). With the team firmly reestablished back as one of the best sides in Europe. If your football supporting life is all about silverware than I really pity you.

Yanno, we might end up empty-handed this season. Might finish runners up to City. Might not get past Barcelona. Or lose out the final. But it really doesn't matter. It'll be disappointing. No doubt. But nobody, the retards on social media aside, will be P and narking. It'll be a natural disappointment but overshadowing that will be immense pride at all they've given and achieved this year. And we'll still party like mad after Wolves or Madrid. Like we did in Kiev. Because that's what Scousers do.

All safe in the knowledge that this isn't a one year deal. This isn't like previous failed L'pool PL title assaults. We're FIRMLY back among the elite with a top-class side, all young and tied down, that's been built to compete for all the major honours for years to come.

It's frightening to think how much they can still improve from a side currently on course for 97 F points as more top quality gets added and the current players mature and develop further.

‘He’s our centre half, He’s our Number 4 .....’

Congrats in advance big Virg for Sunday-

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...f-year-ahead-of-raheem-sterling-a4125531.html

First defender to win it since 2004/ 05. Only the third since 1992/ 93 and just the 6th in the 49 years of the award. Testament to his and the clubs phenomenal season.

First time two Reds have won the PFA POTY back-to-back since Kenny and Rushie in 1983/ ‘84 respectively.

New record for the team of the year too coming from only 3 clubs-

Going down the road to City tonight for the Youth Cup Final. Meh, I'm claiming it as a 'new' ground as it's their Academy Stadium. And the tickets were free like so why not?

When I picked the tickets up yesterday dinner, the girl the window was saying we'd under 200 left from a 700/800 allocation. (LOVE the idea of having your own section for an 18's game. Like the last time we played them the Youth Cup Final at the Ethiad.).

The idea of 600 plus Scousers cheering on Lewtas and his double chasing young Reds, at City, with the far bigger first team implications in the background ..... Sounds the perfect Thursday night before Anfield goes off on Friday.

Up the Red Lids!

Dear Football and LFC fans : I invite you to cast your vote in my poll and select the top 10 best club sides forever and ever. Here-http://vote.sparklit.com/web_poll.spark?pollID=1147359&sparkKey=b17ab7843c067aac26a6f7212538d027b0

FA Youth Cup- Boxed.

Congrats the super young Reds. They've more than deserved something for their efforts this year. As has the first-team. Hopefully, their's is still all to come.

Enjoyable, if ****** cold, night that. Mad how even at youth level you're bursting with pride when a fellow Scouser takes centre stage in the Red shirt. Boys own stuff for Bobby Duncan. Completely lost his head the end in the emotion of it all. L'pool lad scoring the final for his hometown/ boyhood club. In Manchester. To win the most prestigious youth competition in the Country. Bet he's not sleeping tonight. Same his bezzie and fellow 30-plus goal partner Glatzel with the peno winner ..... 'Scousers here, Scousers there, Scousers every F where ..... '

Loved how there was al the younger levels and coaches (all clobbered up head to toe in NB haha) sat amongst us the stand there and the majority were on the pitch the end celebrating with the 18's. The sense of unity at every level of the football club is wonderful to see. Great for the 16's on down to share in the experience.

Mad the set-up with Citys academy stadium. Better than most lower league grounds and akin to a small stadium you'd see the Continent somewhere like France. Very impressive.

One trophy down. (Hopefully) Three to go. (The U18 PL to go along with our first-team hopes and dreams.).

Hopefully, this won't be the last time City are cursing L'pool Football Club this season.

Side note- That's now 2 European Cups, an FA Cup, 2 League Cups and 2 FA Youth Cups I've seen Liverpool Football Club lift live on penalties..... Whilst not seeing a single penalty as I have a superstition of always turning my back on a penalty! Go figure? Haha.

Up the Peno King Reds!

I’d have JMG and Milner at FB tonight personally and rest both Andy Robbo and Trent. Who badly need it. Along with Origi for one of the front three. Any midfield combination works sound but big Shaq would be perfect to return.

These are one of the worst sides in PL history against one of the all time English top flight best teams. At fortress Anfield where I don’t think we’ve lost in colour or some mad ____. So I wouldn’t be concerned however many changes he made.

But this is Jurgen. So we’ll probably be more or less full strength.

Anfield will be wild and in a frenzy. That is for sure! Time of our lives and then some.

L’pool to lick Town 5 or 6.

Up the back on top Reds!

I understand the importance this times magazine stuff has for Salah, but strange feeling inside that it will backfire. I know pool has enough power to finish off hud, but anything can happen in PL. Flying to states and then back before game should be that he is rested.

That's why you don't lid-

Not too shabby for a one season wonder.

Honestly I'd be rather dissapointed if we dont reach the CL final. Take nothing away from the brilliance that Messi brings but this Barca team is not the Barca of old.

As Guardiola said when he was asked the start the season on City being CL favourites, ‘Whoever has Messi in their team is favourites!’

There was a super NY Times read a few weeks back on the evolution of Messi and how Barcelona now don’t set up tactically until he decides where/ who he’s attacking-

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/16/sports/lionel-messi-champions-league-.html

Not been lost on me the whatever happens the next week or so it’s going to be an absolute privilege to see the GOAT, in his prime, up close and personal twice more.

That said, I’m fully expecting to be in Madrid. We’ve one of, if not the best side in European football once again. And the European Cup is what we do. Whatever happens Wednesday, one things for sure. Anfield will be absolutely wild a week Tuesday the return. And it doesn’t matter who you are. Or what experience you have. NOTHING can prepare you for that!
