I loved watching Sneijder a while ago but honestly don't see it as a massive loss, experience would've been nice but Coutinho looks good

providing he doesnt ask for silly money.

Not sure this deal will happen. Coutinho said it's good to be linked with likes of Liverpool but he prefers to stay at Inter and he has manager's backing. Also there are reports that Inter have rejected 12M bid from Villa so they won't be selling him cheap.

You don't need to ask though. Isn't Liverpool's negotiating tactic to take what they ask for and double it? ;)

No that's only for overhyped, overpriced English players. Such wonders as Stewart Downing, Andrew Carroll and Jordan Henderson are prime examples ;)

I have huge question marks over Sneijder personally. This his dip in form has gone on for longer than his purple patch which is worrying.

Rodgers has increased his offer for the Brazil international after further negotiations with Inter over the past 48 hours and remains confident of striking a deal despite competition from Southampton.
Liverpool’s latest bid is expected to be their last and they are not prepared to enter into a bidding war with Southampton, who have offered £10 million.
Mauricio Pochettino, the new Southampton manager, worked with Coutinho at Espanyol last season and his club have agreed to meet Inter’s asking price for the 20-year-old.
But it is believed Coutinho is not interested in a move to St Mary’s and Liverpool hope to agree a deal before the weekend.
Liverpool’s initial £6 million bid was rejected late last week but they have restructured their latest offer and agreed to pay an extra £2 million up front. Inter have been beset by financial problems and could find the promise of £8 million difficult to turn down.

Coutinho will require a work permit to seal a move to the Premier League and this week’s haggling means it is now unlikely he will make his debut against Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Earlier this week he had appeared to distance himself from a move to Anfield by insisting he wanted to stay and fight for his place but Liverpool remain hopeful of completing their second signing of this transfer window.
Liverpool have already signed Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea this month in a £12 million deal and are interested in Blackpool’s Thomas Ince, though not at the Championship club’s asking price.

Former Liverpool and Everton winger Jimmy Payne has died at the age of 86.
Bootle-born Payne was one of only a handful of players to play for both Merseyside clubs, although the majority of his career was spent with Liverpool. Over an eight-year career with the Reds, starting in 1948, he played 243 games, including the 1950 FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal, and scored 43 goals.

He left Liverpool to join Everton in 1956 but injuries restricted to him to just six matches for the Toffees before he was forced to retire. Payne was known as the 'Merseyside Matthews' in reference to former Blackpool, Stoke and England winger Stanley Matthews.

A statement on the Liverpool website read: "Everybody at Liverpool Football Club would like to pass on their condolences to Jimmy's family and friends." His daughter Shirley Morgan told the site: "For the last eight years my dad has been in a home and it was a bit of a struggle but he fought to the bitter end, bless him. Thankfully he's at peace now."

Liverpool have met Inter's £11mil valuation of Coutinho. Hopefully this can go through now and we can maybe get Rodger's third target as well if we have the money.

Liverpool have agreed an £8.5m deal for Inter Milan's Brazilian midfielder, Philipe Coutinho. The 20-year-old is expected to travel to Merseyside early next week for a medical and Liverpool will need to apply for a work permit before the deal can be completed.

And for those who want to make it sound more expensive that's €10,000,000. (Or ¥1,222,130,000)

Or 280,590,000,000 Vietnamese dong. Massively overpriced. You can tell from all the zeros.

A decent signing for you guys and I think Rodgers will get the best out of him.
