Funny how the tune has suddenly changed. 6 months ago, Sterling was the best young player in Europe and the great hope of The Kop. Now he is an average youngster

I don't understand Sterling. He hasn't shown that he has the skills to demand the money that Liverpool offered him, and if he actually uses the excuse about being left to the media as a reason for leaving he's going to have a very hard time when he goes to another club and fails to live up to the hype and be lampooned by the media again. Will he use the same excuse and demand to leave that club?

Not really. I've been against Sterling moving to us ever since the issue of his contract started. Average at crossing, and can't finish. Sure, he has potential, but that's about it, hasn't realised it by a long shot. I sure wouldn't want us to break the tradition for Sterling.. >_>

He is, but 6 months ago he was also playing like it as well...

Potentially he can be anything he wants to be but that's being ruined by bad advise and a bad attitude

Lol good one Liverpool, Suarez wasn't for sale either and look what happened. Generally when a player wants to leave it's hard to stop it from happening.

Suarez left when Liverpool were happy with the deal. 75million and to foreign league

If Liverpool don't want Sterling to move to a divisional rival then he will not move. They played hardball with Suarez the summer before last and I wouldn't expect any different with Sterling

Suarez was a foreigner and always wanted to move to Barca, so playing hardball with Arsenal was not a big deal. Sterling is a london lad who might want to go back, so playing hardball in this case will be completely different as English players rarely move outside England, so Liverpool have no option but to sell in the division.

The joke is on anyone in the league who wants to sign him, he's a decent player, he's proved he's not a special one...

There is a difference but Sterling has two years left on his contract and if Liverpool don't want to sell this summer then that will be that

We saw it with Suarez and the same will happen with Sterling. Only a fantastic offer is likely to change that

I do agree, however, that Sterling is more likely to want a move to an English club due to his nationality and the fact he is from there

One thing with this announcement is I definitely don't get the pit of my stomach feeling when Suarez and Torres announced their desire to leave

The kid is good, and can be great, but if we receive any amount of large money for a player who doesn't want to be here then we should take it

I'm sure we'll me talking to the likes of Madrid, PSG, Juve etc.. Could always be a few player exchange involved in the deal haha!

Sterling's spoiled little ****, not even half as good as he apparently thinks he is.

Certainly has talent, but if he thinks that at 20, while accomplishing **** all, he's already above a club like Liverpool, I don't predict much of a career for him with that attitude.

After talking to one of my close mates last night who is a Liverpool fan, the more we talked the more I start to think maybe a change is needed, sadly the only person I think would be a good replacement is Klopp. Would be sad to see Rodgers go though

Hes already in deep talks with Fenebache.

It gets more amusing by the minute.

Sterlings agent, Aidy Ward, the man who has been one of the main reason for all this, has denied reports he has asked to leave and said the story has been 'blown out of proportion'.

Embarrassing for all involved
