Not really. He is getting criticism from nearly all angles.

Liverpool are not an elite club and many know that - his actions the past few months no matter what has happened have been poor and will only work against him

Liverpool have not helped and contributed to it all no doubt, but Sterling is acting like a spoilt brat and in the public eye... The lad and his agent are having a PR nightmare

Make no mistake, this is a problem entirely of Liverpools making. you tried to lowball him two years ago, did it again last year, and now we're here. FSG need to stop playing the system.

He's really not acting like a spoilt brat at all. He wants out, which you never wanted to give him, so he's going to fight for it. What, he should sit and wait his turn like a good little boy, this is Liverpool etc etc? If Liverpool spent less time patronising him he probably wouldnt be pushing so hard.

this would never have to to the public eye. if rodgers had not mentioned sterling had rejected an "amazing offer". this makes sterling look like a greedy ***** when in truth it might not be true. once again rodgers with his foot in mouth syndrome.

you should see the interview, he painted out like sterling rejected the best deal ever made and made it seem like he was being greedy. all he had to say was contract are on going blah blah. then all of a sudden you get an influx of media and pundits going sterling is greedy which led on to the stupid sterling interview. it could all have been avoided if rodgers had kept it inhouse but he didnt.

Agreed - but the media were also partly correct that Sterling was looking for more money when the amount on offer was very fair

Like I have said, Liverpool and Rodgers are not blameless by any stretch of the imagination. But a good offer has been on the table for a long period

maybe, he doesnt want the money because he wants to leave for trophies, which he wont get at liverpool...

obviously he would want more than the measly 35k he is on when glen johnsons on 90k. but your forgetting that was before this terrible season had started and we had nearly won the league. even stevie said he would have signed expect we offered stevie the contract in christmas time along with sterling aswell. this is another problem in itself. why we take soo long to extend contracts i do not know. anyway maybe after this season sterling saw how awful the team is looked around and thought **** it im out.

blame david moore, if he wasnt to busy lining his pockets in the mid 90s, instead of upgrading anfield etc... im sure we could have been in a different scenario. not to mention he sold us to those two cowboys.

Tbh it has not been an awful season.. Last season we over achieved and this season has been what would have been expected realistically .. If you look at our finishes the past 10 years we have rarely finished outside of 5th-8th place

yeah i get what you mean, the whole losing suarez and not replacing him along with poor summer signing in positions that we were adequate in. on top of rodgers going full ****** mode in the beggining of the season. typical lfc, two steps forward five steps back.

Of course it was? Who doesn't want to earn more than what they're getting? However, the whole snowballing happened with stupid comments from Rodgers about Sterling's contract situation. Notice all the hue and cry made about Sterling's interview (which I admit was unprofessional), while Rodgers and Liverpool have been pressuring him since the start of the season to sign a new deal as per their terms by using the media.

He was one of your best young players last year, instead of tying him down, your owners dilly-dallied, and all the comments in the press by Rodgers this season have definitely not helped your cause to hold him down.

He may not be worth all the money being quoted for him, but that's why clubs have negotiators, you keep it in-house - start with a reasonable offer and go on from there. He probably would have accepted 70k last season because you still had Suarez and Sturridge was relatively injury free, and there was hopes that the club would do well. Can't say the same this season around.

Can't exactly blame Sterling and his agent for taking stuff to the press, when Rodgers has been doing that all season. All the hype and negativity has mainly been coming from former Liverpool players, and part of the media has been intent on hyping him up as the bad boy of Liverpool FC.

On the other hand, you look at it from Sterling's point of view, he has been portrayed as a greedy *** by Rodgers, publicly been chastised that he won't get a better deal no matter what his performances are due to his age and negative comments about him have been in the press pretty much most times Rodgers gives interviews. He might really not want to stay considering the way the situation has been dealt with - he probably has zero trust in the manager and the club's owners.

I'm not stating that he deserves 100K, considering his performances this season, he doesn't. You'd probably be well off selling him for a fortune, since he is just a prospect atm. A very good one, but nowhere near class. Bad end product. But you can't label him for being completely unprofessional, it has to be a two way street. Liverpool have been talking bad about him and his contract situation for a while, and he also has joined the media circus. *** for Tat.

It really is - But being 21 years of age I have witnessed limited success at the club and 5th place (Believe it or not) is around par and an improvement to the majority of recent league finishes

It is very frustrating. Similar happened with Benitez - Champs League, building a squad, finish 2nd, sell players and bring in owners who robbed us of nearly everything

But I know people will always want more money, in any job, but 70k initial offer and 100k a week last offer is a fantastic wage for his current role and ability

Hopefully, It may work out similar to Suarez in that he stays, signs a contract, plays well and gets his move when he has proven a lot more - but if a club came in with a 40mil+ offer now, I would drive him myself

I do just feel he is rushing into a poor decision. He is twenty years old and a key player for Liverpool. He will not have that stature at any other club he wants to join and that is likely to slow his development

Yeah but its Rodgers fault SWP and Scott Sinclair didn't develop as he has been connected to them at one point in his career
