The line up is just horrible. It's a damning reflection of where we are. I hope we win however to give Stevie a good send off while he rides away into the sunset

What do you think is horrible about it? Possibly two new signings and that is a very decent team

I'm talking about playing players out of position and seeming to try and just play players just to play them. I think we need 3 first team signings over summer

Its the equivalent because of supporters living in the past. It's a European competition and at full strength we would have a realistic chance of doing very well. It now also has the incentive of qualifying for the CL

We don't have a right to be in the Champions League and for the majority of seasons we haven't been good enough to qualify. Perhaps it is about time we took a similar attitude to that of Sevilla, for example

Qualifying for the CL is pretty much the only incentive, apart from a trophy of course. There's almost no money in it unless you win the whole thing. The teams you come up against often forces you to travel long distances to countries like Ukraine and Romania, where you travel back late at Thursday night and home some time in the AM. Then you have Friday for restitution, and only Saturday for training and match preparation before the game on Sunday.

I honestly hope we don't prioritize EL too much. In the latter stages you'll also have the 3rd placed teams from CL, and considering our consistent inconsistency, our lack of quality and will against Basel - a must-win game - coupled with Rodgers' complete lack of cynicism (like against Chelsea, which lost us the league), I can't see us winning it. On the contrary, I can see it seriously affecting our performance in the league.

But I agree in taking a similar attitude to Sevilla - if we're talking about hiring a good DoF.... Monchi would probably suit us a lot better than Fallows, Edwards and the rest of the transfer committee.

Good luck keeping Sterling at Liverpool after this. And good luck to Rodgers keeping his job. Oh, and good luck attracting any decent players to the club.

We're in a world of hurt atm, not just in this game, but overall. I can see us taking a further step backwards next season, and a mass exodus of the remaining quality players after that.

So I'm at comic con right now and I have poor internet connection, but I currently see a score of 5-0 to stoke. Am I seeing things right here?

No man, score is 0-0. Liverpool is having plenty of chances. Don't you worry about the game, just have fun at comic con :)

You should go all guns blazing for Klopp. Whether he'll be interested is hard to judge.

What a time to be alive. 5-0 down to stoke, Gerrard's last game and almost 10 years on from our last major trophy. What a time to be alive guys
