Suarez surely not going in January, which makes top four a lot more possible. Not sure about the summer and whether CL will be enough for him to stay.

Cant see him leaving this summer now, would make signing a new contract pretty pointless imo

I think Suarez will secure Liverpool a top 4 finish this season

Hard to disagree with that, he reminds me of a better version of Tevez. Making things happen out of nothing and seemingly never giving up, which helps those around him believe that there is always something on.

Would be nice to see Liverpool back at the top table tbh.

According to LFC official site Suarez signed new contract. Not bad I'd say ^^)

Suarez is only signing a new contract to add clauses to it that will allow him to leave if the right offer comes in. Don't look at it like Suarez wants to honour the contract.

Even if there's a clause I'd expect it to be significantly higher then what Arsenal offered in the summer. So if Liverpool don't make CL and he leaves, there'd be some serious money in the piggy bank.

Either way you win.

102mil release clause and 80mil non champions league clause apparently

Cant blame Liverpool for making it that high tbh. If Gareth bale is worth 100 mil than Suarez who is a better player in my opinion definitely is!

Big win win for Liverpool, Suarez has more reason to stay, it's a clear sign of intent from the club if you look at it from an outside perspective and if another club wants him then they're going to have to pay.

It's definitely not that. 1) why would Suarez agree to a clause that makes it HARDER for him to leave if you fail to reach top 4? 2) Neither side is allowed to disclose the release clause, so I very much doubt its been leaked after less than a day

completely agree, seems to be certain journalists putting out a random figure

And Suarez scores again what a shock! Must have to admit this season I am starting to like Suarez more and more with every good performance. This time last year id be saying I despise him but I guess it's just where so far this season he has kept out of trouble, got on with his football and has been incredible.

People forget transfer fees aren't solely related to ability anymore. Especially at Madrid. Bale is incredibly marketable and Madrid will most likely break even on him over a contract. Suarez, being the utter **** that he is, is less so.

I'd imagine 150% wage increase makes compelling argument.

Its not that big an increase. from 120k to 170k this season, 200k next season onwards. Nothing he couldn't get going to Madrid, for example.

Joel is correct on this one... Suarez is worth more on ability but his past hinders a potential increase in price

However, that doesn't mean Liverpool cannot demand that high price because with his past or not, he is possibly the best player in the world at the moment form wise
