I'm not trying to say there is something going on, but what a ****** ridiculous fixtures list that is...

Stoke, Arsenal, United, Everton, Spurs, Chelsea, City ... First 7 away games.

Just how!
 
The positive look at it... If Rodgers is in a job still come January, our record under him second half of the season is fantastic and our run is very good

Beginning of the season may be hard away wise, but there are a lot of winnable home games in between them

Stoke away followed by Bournemoth, whom we struggled to beat the last 2 years and who'll have the momentum of promotion is a bad enough start without all the top sides away.

He's on an absolute no winner. If he doesn't hit the ground running it'll get REAL ugly. He lost the majority of the fan base last year. Sadly, times have changed as more old regulars drop out. We NEVER used to turn at games. No matter how bad it was. Just wasn't our thing. I remember being down at Tottenham and some lads bringing out a 'Souness Out' banner, which was just about the first time anything like that had ever happened. Things quickly got VERY heated among ourselves and fists were flying as the banner was quickly removed. Talking on here, or just between yourselves pre Internet and criticising and wanting change was one thing. But NEVER vocally at the game. Just wasn't the L'pool way.

Sadly, that's long gone. The new generation is now like any other club and will turn in a heartbeat at games if things aren't going perfectly.

Worst case are scenario for the manager those opening fixtures.

If he's still in a job on merit by January he'll be manager of the year after the first half of the seasons games!

if he's not then at least it's an easier second half for Jurgen or Carlo .....
 
Could well do with the Bournemouth games getting switched too personally.

With the memorial falling on a Friday this year, I was hoping for a home game that weekend. Bournemouth away is far from ideal.
 
If we get through that space of games, things could really look up for us. Spurs, Everton, Stoke are winnable if we turn up, Arsenal and United are two places we know we could ****** a point. The likeliness of that all happening are very slim.

If you do well you have all of your hard games out the way,
If you do bad, you'll have no manager and be in a very tough situation...

Sadly, that is the only generation I have seen.. constant criticism year after year

And that is sad. Like I say, talking in here or between friends at work/ the pub et all is one thing. But when you're at the match you should be there to 'support.' Totally counter productive and defeats the object to be vocally negative.

What's even more sad than that is that they'll happily turn on their own at games if anyone has the counter view and politely tells them to STFU! That I'll NEVER understand. L'pool fans coming to blows with fellow L'pool fans.

We are in many respects just A N Other set of football fans today.

Always amuses me when folks on TV still go on about how special L'pool fans are. We USED to be a class apart. But not so much these days at all.

And some of the general 'behaviour' of our younger element, particularly away and particularly away in Europe, is a cringe worthy embarrassment oft times. There's only so much 'self policing' you can do. It's like they've heard the stories growing up and think they have something to live up to. We were never Angels but now they regularly take it one stage further. And you all end up getting tarred with the same brush.

Embarrassing isn't the word.

I may be biased, but when it's going well there are not many better supporters around.. Yes, it might be a little over the top but look at last season finishing 2nd - the crowd was unbelievable

However, when things are going against us, The fanbase seems adamant on making these things worse

Oh, don't get me wrong, we still have some top supporters. And I aren't wishing to paint a picture od doom and gloom on all our support today Just that there's been a big change in the, for want of a better word, 'calibre' of support with each passing year. And atmosphere wise, no question, on our day, like a big European night, there's still no place like Anfield.

Just those days are getting fewer and further between.

But that's both relative as to the current state of the side, and the way football has gone in the main in the Premier League era. With the advent of seats, and subsequent hike in prices attracting a different class of fan in the main; the atmosphere has been killed right across the board.

Most all Premier League grounds, particularly the big ones, are sadly like morgues most Saturday's now.

But that's a whole other discussion.

This i dont get. Whats changed that makes you think we can beat spurs, stoke etc... If we turn up.

Oh, absolutely.

I LOVE that in a player. The same reason I had the utmost respect for both Shearer and Le Tissier on the multiple times they turned down Utd. Both could of one a slew of trophy's under Ferguson, and heck knows how many more goals Shearer would of scored the chances Utd created. But Newcastle is Shearers boyhood team and Le Tissier had the loyalty right through to his first ever pro club that he grew to love. Got to respect players that put their club above all else.

Can't fault Tevez at all for wanting to end his career where it all started at his club.

Just '******' as he'd of been the perfect Rodgers centre forward.
