Re Martinez, bear in mind Atletico are still fighting off Chelsea's interested in Griezmann.
Losing Gerrard/Suarez/Sterling within a year has to have some affect, if not on the owners, on the players but mainly on the fans. Like a less recently successful arsenal always selling their better players.
If we sign Clyne, Ings, Milner, Gomez, Benteke, then I'll have lost almost all hope with where we're going.
I agree.
But tt depends what you class as a 'top class signing' ... We haven't made one of them for years and years and i would included Torres and Suarez in that (Highly rated but by no means an almost guaranteed success)
It will be more of the same, trying to find the next biggest thing who can contribute now which is one of the hardest things to do else everyone would be doing it
I completely agree the staff turnover has been embarrassing. It needed a change-up but coming to the end of June with no first team coaches or an assistant manager is worrying
Reports all pointing towards pepijn lijnders as the new first team coach to replace mike marsh. he is another bielsa disciple who loves playing high pressure football. ex porto coach aswell so you know he is highly rated, if this happens it is good news imo.
Yep. Don't know much myself but from reports and interview he is a very, very highly rated coach
big upgrade on mike marsh who just seemed like the token scouser. does anyone know who the assistant manager will be, seems like bolo is being touted.

Normally i would agree with you however pepijn lijnders is no mike marsh, this guy was head hunted by porto from feyonoord. porto arent intrested in you as a coach if your not one of the best. the well renowened for having excellent coaches for their youth. the fundamentals of coaching are no that big when were talking about high end youth levels and first team coaching. the guy is highly rated for a reason, i would rather give a chance to this fella than hire dudds such as mike marsh and colin pascoe who were basically yes men.I don't know it can be said he's a 'big upgrade' (on paper it is, but you're talking about a guy that's ostensibly coached at varying youth levels. Whole different animal of person/ character at PL first team level); but what it does suggest is keeping in line with the rumours FSG will move on.
Keep the manager. Bump up youth staff on the cheap. Leaves options easier for the next owners to make changes if they so desire.
Roberto Firmino 1/4 to sign for Liverpool with sky bet... Hopefully they know something we dont.
Unselfish, skillful, great passer, not a bad finisher either...
Would be boss with Coutinho and would be amazing at setting up Sturridge...

Globo Esporte are reporting that it's almost a done deal to take Firmino to Liverpool.
Great business to replace Sterling for less than you sell him for and before you sell him. Only question is whether he will adapt well, Brazilians tend to struggle for a while.
A long way to go of course, but selling Sterling for 40-50million and getting in Firmino for 18-22 million would be very unlike Liverpool!
Ben Smith's confirmed the interest, we've held talks, but itll be after the Copa America at least.
