One thing, Firmino up front: had this been BR, he would have been slaughtered for it (already seen scouse criticse BR for putting Sterling up front) so it will be interesting to see how many see it as a master stroke.

If it works, its a master stroke. If it doesn't, its a lunacy.

That's how football fanbase operates mate, get with the program.

Not just fanbase though, the media is often worse in those situations.

First half was horrible, no idea what Klopp said during half-time but the equaliser obviously had perfect timing. I don't mind seeing Firmino up front as long as Sturridge is out, Benteke isn't fully fit, and Origi has mostly been poor. When Rodgers played Sterling up front I didn't mind either, it was easy to see how his pace and runs posed a serious threat to any team.

I'd say first 15 was horrible.. after that Chelsea retreated and we dominated - Just had to break them down which Coutinho eventually did!

Didn't think you were excellent, but you totally deserved the win, better side for the most part.

He is far more suited to playing upfront on his own though. And it's under far different circumstances. Benteke not fit enough, Studge and Ings out. Sterling upfront was because BR didn't like the three strikers he signed (he/committee whatever).

Though saying that. I did feel Sterling upfront was the only option we had but at the same time he was pretty poor in the role. Not like the rest of the team was doing anything either.

Or if you actually believe that which is incredulous by itself.

Why on Earth would he, or anyone else for that matter, be slated for playing someone like that up there when your down to your 4th choice forward who's started 4 straight games in 11 days and hadn't either worked out and was in need of a break when your only other fit forward is just coming back from injury with a whopping 45 minutes under his belt all month?

Or maybe your just being facetious for the sake of reaction.

Either way that's flat out ridiculous to come out with today.

He played Sterling up top when he had Balotelli and other natural strikers!!! The **** Mike?!

The template was Suarez. Sterling was far closer to that style and movement that any of the strikers you had, with Sturridge out.

The same reason Firmino was up there today, movement better than anything Origi could have provided in the absence of Benteke (to start with) and Sturridge. I'd bet even money, he'd have played Sterling there if he had been at the club still.

Had BR played him up there, I'm not convinced it would have got the same reaction

As usual, you've totally missed the point.

Best £ 55 ticket price paid in frigging EONS!

Does it get ANY better than beating the rent boy ***** on their own patch?

Utterly dominant performance from start to finish. Even the Chelsea goal came from our f-up. Dominated the first half without creating anything (not that they did) until Phil's piece of magic. And the just had no answer the second half to the workrate and passion. Thought Lucas was fantastic (ironic to see they're complaining that he should o gone after Skrtel saved Costa from a defo red), as were the two FB's. Firmino great again. And what can you say about Phil? About time he returned. And how. Benteke superb when he came on. Only Milner poor again but the team performance was superb.

And Klopp's celebrations are something special on the touchline.

Brilliant, brilliant day out as it stepped up another notch for the fifth game running.

'You're not special anymore!'

Can we stop this "if BR did it there would be a different reaction" ****. Not only is it getting old it's also completely pointless.

It's entirely fair when others are happy to beat him with a stick otherwise. Firmino has a similar skill set to Sterling and they play a way that suits the movement needed up front.

Do we really need to bring up Brendan Rodgers up at all anymore? Yes he got sacked in a really unfair way, I think most Liverpool fans would agree with that. The end of last season saw Rodgers become somewhat of a wounded animal, if you like, and the kindest thing would've been to "put him down" in the summer. Yet we let him keep going and it was really like seeing a dead man walking every week.

Rodgers brought us very close to the title in the 13/14 season but 14/15 saw him loose his way completely. He seemed unable to deal with the "upper echelons" of football when dealing with the league and champions league, lost camps within the dressing room and was simply "bullied" by the transfer committee which he was a part of but seemed too much of a pushover to say no to certain players. Prime example being Balotelli. Did he want him? No. Instead he got a player who disrupted the camp more.

Furthermore I think the one single transfer you'll see Klopp do in January, if available, is a new central defender. This was the area in which Rodgers failed completely to address. Yes Gomez is for the future and I have no doubt he's got the potential to be a Liverpool starter in the next couple of years but in the summer after having such a diabolical against column he should've made a case to go out there and get a commanding CD.

So in short, thanks to Brodge for your hard work you did at Liverpool and sorry for how it all unfolded but ultimately, as harsh as it sounds, his CV has no added titles and Liverpool are in, if not worse, state now then when he joined the club.

Can we now move on from all this "if Rodgers did this" nonesense and move forward to a very exciting and passion fueled future with Herr Klopp?

And just a side note for Mike, your argument for beating managers with sticks because of player selection is completely pointless when talking about two contrasting playing styles and two completely different managers. For anyone that knows football could clearly see he played Firmino for three reasons a) possession and b) Benteke not fit for 90 mins and c) Origi left at Melwood because of poor form.

Don't get me wrong, you're not alone in the whole "well if Rodgers did that" argument because McManaman himself fell foul of that when we played Rubin Kazan saying "well if Rodgers was here and got 1-1 we'd of slated him". Yes and yes to both but is that not moot now when Rodgers isn't at the club?

Rodgers got 3 years, Klopp's had 3 weeks. That's the beginning and the end of that argument.

Great result today, I was actually not expecting a 3 pointer today and was happy to ride out until after the Palace and City games to fully see what Klopp can do to this side but this win today is a massive confidence boost for a side lacking in self belief and I think pre-match going into this game whatever side was to win would then build on it for the season. For once it was nice to see the footballing gods smile on us for a change!

Klopp was brought in to do what Rodgers didn't, with the players Rodgers signed in the middle of a season Rodgers stated... There is arguments for a valid comparison of they two until Janurary at least since only then will Klopp get his first chance to make the club his own. Right now, he's playing with Rodgers's toys.

Can I just say that there was a justified reason as to why he was 'bullied' by the committee. It's because he was ******* awful at signing players.

Which just adds to my point that he was out of his depth with the size of a club of Liverpool.

If BR was still here and Sterling was still here then this would happen and that would happen, nada nada.

Its a bit of a pointless debate indeed. People lost faith in Rodgers. People have faith in Klopp. It certainly doesn't hurt that Klopp actually has a record to back that faith up, while Rodgers was always a gamble.

That's it, really.

Ok ill change the subject, my favourite player as i said before is hendo, because he's came from an expensive signing to a half decent player, my favourite at the moment is Sakho, because he never looked good enough but since he has had a proper run he looks the biz, he's took his chance and not letting go, yes hopefully we get a decent defender in January and not some overpriced one from our feeder club Southampton, and i hope sakho is still playing brilliant and skrtel gets dropped, tho he has looked better which is saying something.

Never been a big fan of Henderson but his style should suit our new style of play down the ground. He'll be a big upgrade on Milner who should be nothing more than an option off the bench to come on and close games down with his great work ethic in the pressing game.

Ridiculous the amount of players looking so much better and happier in less than three weeks. Sakho finally playing regularly as you noted. Skrtel alongside him, though still prone to stupidity, looking a lot stabler. And the massive change the back 4 Moreno who's looking miles different defensively to add to his attacking prowess. By Moreno's open admission, he's gaining confidence from a manager actually working with him and believing in him. The difference in the defensive side now they're being taught that has been Worlds apart from before from the very first game. Then you've Can, whilst still having a ways to go, looking far better finally playing in his natural position. Lucas looking as dominant as he's done in a good few years. Lallana being one of the best performers to date. Ibe getting his confidence back now he's being allowed to go forward instead of having his confidence destroyed as a wing back.

The very noticeable individual and overall team performance differences (which have been improving all 5 games in different facets) he's gotten out of them in 3 weeks has been remarkable for a new manager coming into a completely down club with still a lot of work to do in overhauling the personnel. Not often there's such an immediate effect which bodes excellently for the future.

Loved Cans dressing room photie with 'We are family' under it. The way they all as a team, players and manager, come down to thank the support now after every game just adds to the new together spirit at the club.
