Let’s hope the heavy over night snow doesn’t cause a postponement.
I mean, you're still a point closer to winning the title, whatever way you look at it. If you were offered to gain another points advantage at the start of the weekend you would've taken it, as you wouldn't have expected City to slip up to Newcastle.

Its not just the 2 dropped points. It's the performance that was so bad. Pressure definitely showed. Cant argue those referee decisions because we've had a few go our way also.
Changes from Klopp with 30 to go didn't do anything.

Nervous night. On and off the park. Some of the knobheads in the crowd were really doing my head in narking. Some proper bellends our home crowd. The aways are gonna be FAR more enjoyable this run-in. ‘13/‘14 aside, which nobody expected as opposed to this season, people have forgotten just what it takes to win the league and get over the line. It won’t be pretty football from here on out. It’s about who holds their nerve and grinds out the most points to finish top. And we just added another one to that end.
In the end a really positive outcome. You don’t play great, at least make sure you don’t get beat. We went into this week thinking both ourselves and City would win. We came out of it abother point further ahead. Can’t complan at that.
Job done. Lead extended.

Inexperience might cost us like Ty said the team looked incredibly nervous tonight. Everything looked forced and I cant wait for Lovren or Gomez to come back as Matip doesnt fill me with confidence whenever he is asked to actually defend. How can you be so massive yet be consistently bullied by opposing forwards.
Completely agree with you here. There was so much desperation yesterday, it reminded me of that Chelsea game.
Matip is a good backup option (not even rotation). Lallana and Sturridge are not the players that should be coming on to change the game. They brought absolutely nothing to the pitch.
It could have been worse had Gray made better decisions / That Alisson Firmino OG save.
Also Carra mentioned this in one of the pieces he wrote, the desperation from the crowd creates additional pressure on the players.
Whatever it is, Klopp needs to find a way. City play Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea in their next 3 games and we play West Ham, Bournemouth and United.
Have to match City at the bare minimum across these games.

Two stone-wall pens he **** out of and Maguire somehow staying on to then go level? All relative if you want to talk about how that game played out amd how Leicester coild have done this or that. Or the atroucious conditons with a ball that would barely roll at times? Totally detrimental to how we play.
We were off it. We gained a point with another game less now for City to pull it back.

Honestly, if we weren't ahead this way, and somebody said before the season began will you take a 5 point deficit behind City in Feb having played them twice. I would have bit their hand off.
Results have built expectations and expectations have built desperation.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope we rip through teams with brilliant footie. Just be prepared for the opposite in a tense title run-in. I’ve seen us pick the league up 6 times and most of thise weren’t pretty the business end. You hold your nerve and do whatever it takes for the 3 points. Or, like last night, when you aren’t on it and things aren’t going, you make sure you at least get 1.
When you get the last ten in particular, nerves play a massive part. And when you’ve not won it for nearly three decades, you can imagine how much more intensified they become.
Home games in particular I don’t see being pretty as those nerves and tension in the crowd just add to heaping it onto the players on the park.
Anyone wants to start lambasting lads from last night they want to start with ourselves as we were abysmal as a crowd. I was hoping it would be like ‘13/‘14 and bouncing. Even more so after City dropping. But it was the complete opposite.
Will say though credit to both sides for even attempting to play those conditions. Don’t know how it looked the telly but that blizzard before the game into the firat half was mad and fierce. I wouldn’t have wanted to walk through that let alone go out and play football through it. No injuries after playing on that is a bonus.

Don't think anyone has mentioned it but Van Dijk totally switched off for Leicester goal, allowing Maguire to score. Got to say it was quite clever from Maguire, got himself back onside and Van Dijk wasn't even aware. Liverpool should of had a penalty but lets be honest you have had a fair share of good fortune so far this season. Nothing lasts forever if you know what I mean, always going to get the odd one that goes against you.

Liverpool may have to get use to having pens waved away until the end of the season, at least when Salah's involved. I remember that happened with us a decade ago; Ronaldo's diving being publicized in the media and the refs giving the defenders the benefit of the doubt in most situations as a result.

God, don't let Scouse see this, his golden boy was at it again bouncing off Maguire like a trampoline. But you make a good point, it might influence referee's decisions the other way sometimes.
I know about home advantages etc, but saw some pics and videos about yesterdays game and got me thinking about it. Firstly is this not hugely disrespecting your opponents and secondly dangerous for players.?
Basically there where pictures and videos of halftime how only the side where Liverpool is attacking was cleaned from snow.... Is this not against some rules or usual stuff at every pitch? I understand watering or some small things, but thick snow and ice is huge disadvantage for opponent attacking capabilities.

I'm glad you brought this up, I think it's not sporting or fair game but realistically I doubt there is any rules that prevent doing something like that. So while I'd love to get on Liverpool's back for it, in reality it's an unfair advantage that they gained through a loophole in the football law so to speak. Little things like this though that does make it hard to get behind Liverpool though in the title race as a neutral I assume. As a United fan that's obviously biased but as the other contender is City, I think more neutrals would prefer them atm.

I think that's within limits of acceptable gamesmanship. It's called home advantage for a reason. Probably a lot of tricks like that going on that aren't public knowledge. I remember hearing some team wouldn't deliberately keep ****** grass in the corners if opposition was dangerous from set pieces.
