Whilst I agree with the FA's sentiment that officials shouldn't be abused in the PL (or at any level of football come to that), as Jurgen readily admitted himself, until they start holding highly paid, full-time professional refs to account for their base incompetency that has seen English refereeing standards drop to an all time historical low, game-on-game, to the point it's having a detrimental effect on one of the biggest World wide products out there; they won't stop manager and player frustration bubbling over.

It's no good (rightly) punishing individual players and managers, whilst continuing to have absolutely no transparency in officiating decisions. And absolutely no means of questioning them and holding them to account for their oft base incompetency that ultimately costs clubs millions.

One begets the other if you want to properly deal with this. You can't hold the highly paid participants to account for letting their emotions erupt. Whilst simultaneously letting the highly paid people officiating them off scot-free for their ineptitude that brings those emotions about.

Super way to ring up Jurgens 250th L’pool win in what was a belter game of togger. And if anyone was in ANY doubt as to just how important and massive a victory that was, the fist bumps at the end for the first time this season rounded off a perfect afternoon.

Funny how confidence is such a significant factor in sports aye? Even at the very highest level L’pool reside in. I thought we were superb for the first hour. Fast out the blocks, thoroughly deserved early goal, and the confidence just grew from there as we totally dominated. Then, naturally, being as they were not only the home side, but one facing the unwelcome prospect of 3 straight home defeats in a row, ‘Spurs got a foothold and begin to exert pressure with the (silent to that point) home crowd coming to life. And as soon as they scored (Side note- As much as he’s a detestable character, WHAT a footballer Harry Kane is. One of the best English CF’s of all time and that was a stunning finish past the best goalie on the planet), confidence just drained out of them and that was a LONG last half hour. But they dug in, fought their backsides off, and did what all World class sides do. Found a way to win. Setting us up perfectly to go into the break on a really nice little run with everything to look forward to when we come back.

Too many good individual performances yesterday. Ibou continuing his utter dominant form since returning from injury. Both FB’s an absolute joy to watch. Some of Trent’s passing man ….. Not bad for a lad many madly want dropped aye? (Although it did look a peno in front of us first half. Defo leaned on the Tottenham lad.). Another very good game from H. Who’s well arguably been our best outfield player thus far. Nunez’s all around game getting better and better the better coaching/ training alongside World class footballers and their ridiculously high standards he gets. Needs to get cuter with his finishing though and not go for max power all the time. Should have iced it at 3-1 with a shocking miss when he hit the bar. And Mo well and truly back to being Mo. 20 games. 19 goal involvements. Tell us again he’s not putting it in after his new contract!

In all the years I’ve gone Tottenham, yesterday was the first time I’ve driven down to the train strike. Note for future reference for anyone that does- Edmonton is the perfect place to park on the high street for free. 15/20 minute straight road walk the opposite way from the hike to Seven Sisters. And straight away and back on the road. Being home not long after 11 was a great bonus.

Now to one of the favourite days of the year and finding out we’re we are going in March. Porto, Lisbon, Munich and Madrid please for the best trip. In that order.

Why are you asking me questions you know the answer to mate? You don’t need examples of how we always stand up as one for whats right and wrong against anybody. Just ask the entire British establishment!

If the Saudi’s had taken over like they did Newcastle, the protests and campaign against them would be constant and hard. It wouldn’t be our first rodeo and we aren’t a tin pot fan base like Chelsea, City or the Geordies who would accept anything in their desperation for success. It’s not the money. Thats the game now. It’s the regime behind it. So lets separate that straight off. Radcliffe’s names flying around for instance. Not the name you’d associate with a murky past, A corrupt State with heinous human rights issues however …..

FWIW, this just smacks to me of Fenway looking to raise capital by selling a stake in the company. Through a share issue/ investment, FSG is a sports business. Why would they want to offload the jewell in their crown and one of the biggest, most profitable sports clubs on the face of the planet? Not least with the ESL still looming large and individual TV rights deals next on the agenda?

I honestly don’t know what more you want than what I’ve said and what you know of Scousers already?

I didn’t stop supporting the team through H&G. But I also didn’t not protest before and after every game. And played my part in hitting every financial connection to the them there was through a concerted campaign against their products. Be it electronically, written or financially. Again, it wouldn’t be our first rodeo with bad owners. ****, the Union which has lead the way in many fan issues effecting fans across the board was born out if the long, concerted campaign against those two *****.

So I wouldn’t stop supporting the club. The owners are only stewards at a particular time regardless. I probably wouldn’t go to any games save to protest before if, say, we were Saudi owned. I’d draw the line there. The same way I refuse to go to Newcastle now down to their owners. As boss a City and away trip as that always is.

I highly doubt Jurgen would work for such a despicable regime. But in your hypothetical, I’d be disappointed and let down by him to say the least.

But it’s all hypothetical conjecture as there’s bid in for the club. Just interesting to observe as Vanjagl said above.

Derby County you say? In the third round of the League Cup you just happen to be defending ..... YES PLEASE!!!!!

This is, like those other East Midlands *****, a PROPER, hate filled rivalry game.

Which probably leaves loads of the Sky generation scratching their heads like 'Derby? We never play Derby? Just how in the World ..... ?' ...... But hose the know, who lived through what was one of the fiercest rivalry's of the '70's and '80's, KNOW! And have never forgotten over time.

I'll be honest and say anyone else outside of Everton, United, City or Forest, and I've of sacked this off, stood the minimal £14, and been sat at home nice and warm tomorrow evening. But this is Derby F County! And the memory's and wounds run deep! From Roger F Davis ruining my young life listening to Alan Parry on the radio as the mighty Reds were humbled 1-0 at that monstrosity of a shithole, the arl Baseball Ground, in the third round of the FA Cup. Through being in with them down the side the 7-1, rumbled after the 5th or so in the second half when we thought 'F it!', only for the biggest of big mining groks to tell us, with a late corner, if we scored again we weren't getting out alive ...... To which Razor Houghton duly did .... que three young scals up over the wall and legging it across the pitch into our end and safety. Even made the MOTD cameras that night and got scolded off me Ma haha ..... Which was, by the way, one of the worst ends in football. The Osmaston terrace ..... You went in through the narrowest of bottle necks with them lashing everything over the divide. To then have them doing the same all game from the seats above as everything reigned down on yer ..... Derby was always one massive battle on and off the pitch and the hatred ran deep. Not just from this team of East Midlands upstarts seriously challenging our dominance, under one of the most despicable human beings imaginable who went on to be our arch-nemesis at Forest. (May he currently be burning in ****. Very, VERY slowly!), But them being the complete polar opposite of ourselves. From their dress sense that was always 20-years in the past. To the lil' Englander, Nationalistic, anti-foreigner, anti-socialist, now Brexit, rhetoric. Never the twain shall meet, And it NEVER did.

Bring on tomorrow night and putting the inbred ***** back in their box. I sincerely hope they continue falling through the leagues. With Forest joining them!

L'pool having all 4 competitions to look forward to when the effectively 'new' season starts Christmas week after the disgrace in the desert.
Record LC holders into the hat for tomorrow draw ..... ALL that matters!

Today’s Admin-

Drawing 0-0, at home, to a side currently sitting 7th in the 3rd tier, two divisions bellow you, and squeaking through on penos, doesn't look too clever without context. But when that context is added, a whole different picture is painted and you are justifiably really proud of the start of our LC defence.

Lest we forget-
This was a completely changed XI, with an average age of just 21.8 years.
Compared to Derby's average of 25.8 years.

A Derby side who had 6 players aged 26 or over. With 5 players 30+. And 1 teenager. With 3 more players on the bench aged 34+.
Whilst we put out a side with only 2 players aged over 26. With 2 more on the bench. With 4 teenagers starting, and a further 5 on the bench. 4 of whom had never played a second of professional football in their embryonic careers. With 5 full debuts given to boot in the starting XI. And a superb 16-year-old making his debut off the bench.

We had a total of 402 appearances across the XI.
Derby had 2 players starting with more pro games in their careers! With a further 3 having 354+ games under their belts. And 3 more on the bench with 451+.

So with the added context of the massive experience disparity, that was a very enjoyable pride night on a very cold and grim one. A pretty non-descript game in the first half that came to life in the second. And again, it's not how you play in straight knock-out cup football. It's being in that for the next round that is ALL that matters. And penalty's are as good a way to that end as any other.

A few individual shoot-outs-

Absolutely boss to see Alex Oxo-Chambo both start and finish his first game in like forever. Absolutely made up for him after all he's been through. And he was very tidy and effective too, always showing and probing.

Of the teenagers that have a real chance of sticking over the coming years-

Bajcetic yet again impressed with another controlling display. Real tidy and fearless with a strong physique for an 18-year-old. We've a proper player there.

Calvin Ramsey had an excellent full debut and looks a player you can rely on to back up Trent like Tsimikas the other side backing up AndyRobbo. Straight out of the Trent mold too. Superb recruitment yet again there to find a like-for-like back-up.

Bobby Clark had a naturally mixed game. But the talent is there for all to see with him again flashing enough of the burgeoning talent he's shown at every age level since we picked him up from Newcastle.

Harvey just continues to wow you. Now adding 'nerve of steal' shoot-out winning peno's to his ever growing CV. Our outfield player of the year to this point for me.

And as for Ben Doak ..... You are always reticent to go over board, as much praise and hype as he's got since his arrival as he's killed it at each level he's rapidly progressed through, as it's a major step up to full first team level. Heightened even more at a top club like LFC. But man that was a super impressive 20 minute or so debut from the 16-year-old wonder kid. We have a SERIOUS talent on our hands here if he keeps developing at this rate.

And take a bow Queve Kelleher. Not only is that now 6 saves in penalty shoot-outs/ 4 penalty shout-out wins from the young Irishman. Both records for any goalie in L'pool's storied history. That was three OUTSTANDING penalty saves. I mean there's shoot-out saves. And there's TOP draw shoot-out saves from great penalty's. What an asset he is as a back-up/ cup goalie. We know this is his competition. But it will be interesting to see if Jurgen anoints him the FA Cup goalie for the season come January too.

And a special mention for 20-year-old Leyton Stewart. Not the best of debuts for the Huyton #9. And, like the younger Academy goal machine Oakley Cannonier, I doubt either will have a career here as neither have anything special to separate them at the next level. But take a bow mate on making your full, competitive debut in senior football at Anfield in a competitive cup-tie. For a Scouser of a red persuasion, it doesn't get ANY better than that. Talk about living the dream. Boys own stuff. He must be buzzing tonight. Absolutely made up for him.

I LOVED Jurgen putting the sale bunkum to bed too after by saying Fenway are naturally looking for investors, like any prudent business, as opposed to looking to sell. After Ornstein's woeful back-tracking/ covering his backside earlier, that was a shot across the bow to the anti-FSG agenda boys and their mad flights of fancy of buying everything that moves under some heinous regime.

Perfect end to an 'interesting' few days.
