I think my impression of Vermaelen is way different than yours. He looks more like a Rio than Vida. His defensive side isn't as refined, but his ball skills is really good for a defender.
 
LVG on SSN, I wont sign players just for the sake of it, I want special players to improve my team. And if I want to switch to 433 I will have to buy specialists on the wing and for attack, so I will have to buy a different type of players. Sounds good to me :)
 
Verminator is a bit of a liability with his tendency to charge up the pitch to win possession. Then again, there's much more licence to do so in a 3 man defense so he could be a good fit if LVG goes with the man marking 3-5-2 he used with Holland. In fact he's the perfect defender for tightly marking strikers high up the pitch.

Sounds like the stuff fergie use to come out with when he knew we weren't gonna sign anyone else or a top midfielder.
 
All media reporting even reliable so called reliable ones saying Fellaini to Napoli 15m or loan deal with option to buy, and Kagawa for sale. Ogden also tweeting this.
 
Shame about kagawa, quality little player but only seems to suit certain style and system, plus imo mata is miles better and januzaj will be.

Also Ogden saying that Nani and Anderson are going. And UTD will tour states again next pre season.
 
Nani, anderson, fellaini and young and/or kagawa all leaving wouldn't be bad business, ton of wages off the bill and atleast 35-45m in.

Them out with 3 or 4 in and i'd be happy, also gotta see how/if he uses zaha, m. keane, jesse, powell, lawrence and wilson.

No mention of Young yet. Would not mind to see them players leave. Sky Italia reporting Felicevifich Vidals agent is now in Italy to discuiss his future.

I can only see young staying to be used as backup but he looked pretty poor at wingback vs roma. I'd much prefer a complete wing revamp with but that's not possible in one summer.

Least things starting to pick up now news wise about us, that is reliable anyways.
 
Also someone saying that Ladyman or Ogden posted tweet earlier saying that the board have been briefed to expect the wages to rise in the coming months. TBH could not be arsed to search if its there or not.
 
Van Gaal has said thes quad has no balance, gotta agree. fergie signed kagawa and rvp with the way fergie played kagawa was probably not needed, moyes signed fellaini and mata without adressing the wing/central midfield problem and same could be said about the fullback positions.
 
Luke Shaw is too unfit and training on his own with specific programme, it's so refreshing to see a manager who will do whatever necessary.
 
Shaw put on an individual training plan to work on his fitness. Was seen doing drills which saw him running with the ball down the left flank and crossing it in. Van Gaal's attention to detail is second to none.
 
Van Gaal has special training regime for Luke Shaw due the fact he came unfit. It has said van Gaal sees him as perfect left side player if he can work on his crossing as he's already good passer and dribbler.
