The Manchester United Thread

Can't believe some people on the forums want to sack him already and are talking about who we can replace him with. WTF some of our fans.

Not really, LVG is doing everything right now which allows him to have the best criticism by people to get the sack, system and style isn't working (is it even identifiable anymore what his system/style is?), constantly playing players out of position, making stupid decisions like Falcao not being in the squad few weeks back and Wilson was, that's just a great way to build a guys confidence who you supposedly want to start seeing good performances from in hope of buying him, but tbh he's not worth it lets be truthful.

Glaringly obvious that we lack dynamism in midfield yet Herrera remains warming the bench pretty much every week possible.

so you would not mind then if he got the sack?

Give it another month, see where we are, we've certainly lost a lot of points and are not in a comfortable position anymore, could be out of top 4 if it continues with the next few weeks and then it's time to really panic.

Right now he's not really doing anything which makes me think there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Thankfully it won't happen. There's been enough stupid sackings in the past by other clubs and another one is not needed
If we sack him and hire say klopp he comes in sells and buys a load of players changed everything at the club like Lvg has done this season. If it don't work let's sack him as well. It will be just like hitting the repeat button every season and us not going anywhere apart from changing manager every season. Yeah we gonna get back to the top doing it like that. Sigh!

We can't keep sacking managers every season if it don't work out in there 1st year. We will never get back doing that.

That's why the bleating from a certain quarter will be ignored. It's absolutely brainless to sack him-clubs need stability regardless of what happens in the first season of charge. I'm sick and tired of this stupid manger merry-go-round that happens. Knee jerk reactions are not needed because of vocal minorities. Stability is needed. Unravelling all the work that has not been finished is just absolutely absurd. If Everton did that and we were in Man Utd's position in the table I would be absolutely livid and there would be the most epic rant this forum would ever see

Top post mate and I completely agree! Was never gonna fix everything in one season, we need stability!

You have to be confident that they are at least going to move the club forward and that is only by being evident on the pitch, tell me truthfully now, do you see any consistent style/philosophy happening in this team? I don't anymore.

Despite it not being ideal sacking managers regularly, for a club like United in the modern era it's going to be inevitable if it doesn't work out you can't wait years anymore in hope something happens.

And I also can't believe how often I'm having to stick up for managers of rival clubs lately XD

I can say with 99% of confidence that Lvg is the right man to take things forward for our club, and sacking him would just be another step backwards and will only be the same if we have a new manager next season. I'm willing to give him another year to get the squad completed ins and outs. Then see where we are next April before getting trigger happy!

Just to be clear I don't think LVG deserves the sack but I don't think one should blindly support a manager and keep him either. Where has stability gotten Arsenal in the last decade?

Well, it's gotten a wealth of talent, an absolute ***k tonne of money, consistenly qualifying for the CL, premier league titles, FA Cup wins

Edit-obviously the PL titles are outside the 10 year window but just talking in general. And of course not forgetting some quality Arsene Wenger moments aswell

Its how most fans seem to deal with things now - same happened with Rodgers and funnily enough its gone quiet on that front now

Only thing I'd say is that with Rodgers you can always identify the way he wants the team to play, admittedly sometimes he makes some odd decisions but the system is always there.

Right now under LVG I just see players playing in wrong positions, a system that isn't really identifiable or working... if we ignore the sudden change yesterday to a 4 at the back formation and bad decisions in general.
