[h=1]Memphis Depay: I can become a United great[/h]New signing Memphis Depay gave his first interview to MUTV after completing his move to Manchester United, and the winger is confident he can become a star at Old Trafford...
Memphis, you’re officially a Manchester United player now. How does it feel?
It’s really a dream come true. I’m very happy and very excited to play with the team and I’m enjoying it in Manchester.
You’ve just had a wonderful season with PSV, so do you now feel ready for the Premier League?
Yes, I really feel ready. I’m still young but I’m taking steps and I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League for the best club in the world.
We’ve seen some of your great performances this season but how would you describe your strengths?
I’ve made steps in the sense that I’ve scored a lot of goals this season and, for me, that’s really important. So I’m really happy with that and the international games since the World Cup have also gone well. I’ve made progress and I want to improve to a higher level now.
You’ve played for Louis van Gaal in the World Cup. How important was he in this move to United?
Very important. He gave me the opportunity to play at the World Cup, he showed a lot of confidence in me and I think he’s the best trainer in the world. He makes me better on the training ground and that’s very important for me. So I’m very much looking forward to working with him here.
We have a Dutch manager and some Dutch coaching staff, Daley Blind and Robin van Persie – how much of a help will that be in terms of settling in at your new club?
I think it’ll be a little bit easier. I can ask the guys what happens around the club but also my own feelings will give me a sense. I need to see everything, I need to improve, I need to see the stadium. I think it will have a big impact on me because I’m young and this is a very big club with many great supporters. I’m very happy.
Have you thought about walking out at Old Trafford in a United shirt?
I’ve dreamed about it, so let’s make it happen. I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford.
This club has a very famous history of wingers, like Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo. How much do you want to follow in their footsteps?
I’m going to let my feet speak. I hope I can develop here in the Premier League and I hope I can be like those great legends one time in my career. I’m going to work hard, so let’s see. I believe I can be a great player for Manchester United.
You’re only young. Do you feel you still have some developing and improving to do, and that you want to do that here?
Of course. I’m young and can make more steps. I know it’s a tough league: everything goes faster and the league is very strong. But I will learn and get stronger, faster and better here on the training ground. So I believe I can develop and bring more out of myself.
You’ll no doubt have seen plenty of Premier League games. How excited are you to make an impact in this league and is it something you’ve always wanted to do?
I think it’s a great feeling to score in the Premier League – the fans go crazy. It’s all different to the Dutch league and I can imagine how big it is, but I have to be on the pitch to really feel the atmosphere from the supporters and the impact of the club.
The manager has said he wants to win trophies with this club. What are your ambitions here?
Well, I also want to win trophies with the team. We’re the biggest club in the world, so we have to play for those trophies.
Your season has not long finished, but how much are you looking forward to getting started in a Manchester United shirt?
I had a great season but it was on a different level and I know that. I’m very excited to be a part of Manchester United but we have to win trophies. I’m sure that we can do this

. Incidentally, I'm kind of wondering if we should have gone for Pirlo. Still WC despite his age, but I guess his age was literally the stumbling block.
l.

He was really poor by his standards most of the season. ****, just loot at CL final - he was by far the worst player in the pitch.

Just watched the Holland and Belguim games from yesterday. God how important is Fellaini to them! They really do miss is arial ability in both boxes, and as a vocal point in attack. Seem to miss him in midfield also as good breaker up of play. RVP looks like Holland are now playing him as a No10 behind Hunterlaar. Was poor again, and got subbed off for Wijnaldum who scored mins later. I just cant see RVP turning this around! Or getting many mins next season.

Really hope the Cillessen rumours aren't true. Very average 'keeper imo, although LVG preferred him over Krul so he can't be that bad?!

Roberto Firmino is joining a Premier League club then according to his agent, written on Sky Sports News and other reliable outlets.

I am wondering who he shall be joining and whether it could be us? I know very little about him but if he's an attacking midfielder I am assuming not as we don't need anymore of them.

He can play anywhere in an advanced position. Remember him playing a couple times a Str for Brazil and doing well. Who knows if it's us. Everyone now saying we're not after Otamendi, who I thought was one that we would get. I'm just gonna wait till its announced on SSN now. Coz I don't have a scooby anymore!
